Which In-Ceiling Speakers for atmos sound ?

The AW-650's would work nicelly if you have a tall enough ceiling. They sound great and would be easier to aim and what not. I tried them for my Atmos setup but my ceiling is only 7.5 feet tall. After hanging down a few inches I felt I didn't have quite enough speration from the surrounds. But thinking back, it probably was just as good since they could be aimed better than in-ceiling speakers.

KLF 10/20 owners, How much toe in?

Thanks, Thatis how I have been running them. Toed in to the center of the love seat as if there was a seat there. I was just thinking I might try somethign new. I'm going to try aiming a little less poiting at about a foot behind the usual spot.
  3. For you KLF owners, how for are you generally toeing in your mains? I have a 7.4.4 Atmos setup with KLF C-7 for center and surrounds. I'm just curious in a home theater setup with one row of seating (couch). Are you aming at the center seat ears, or are you aiming forward, or backward from that spot? I'm 8-12 inches from side walls, and about 6-9 inches from behind wall. I do have some black out surtains hund behind (side of projector screen). Ignore the tape on the speakers, I put that there to line up my level with center of speaker. I just made new stands for the surrounds, so I am re doing setup. I still need to paind thew top of one stand, I messed up the painted top on that one. Thanks,

Is KLF 20's that much better than KLF-10's for HT

I just got back from a road trip with the KLF-10's. I have not run Audyssey yet and just unhooked my RF-15's/RC-25 and plugged the KLF-10's and KLF-C7 in. I am blown away by the sound so far. I will try to run Audyssey tomorrow but all I have to say is WOW! I have three Ti Diaphragms coming from Bob Crites in the next couple days too. I'm still on the hunt for the KLF-20's but in all Honesty I would be happy with just the 10's all the way around. I'll keep my RF-61 II's in surround duty untill I find another set of KLF's Ken

WTB KLF-10's or 20's preferably in black

Thanks Sancho! Feels like x-mas! I just read the email that Bob Crites sent my 3 Ti Diaphragms off priority mail on Friday. They should arrive in the next couple days.

Is KLF 20's that much better than KLF-10's for HT

Thanks for the replies! My main concern is the seating will be around 13 ft from the fronts. The room is 13 ft wide. I do have two capable subs in my HT system already. I thought I have read that 3-way needs a larger room where seating distance is further from the speakers? My current speakers are pretty in your face now when cranked to -10 for movies. I am sitting about 10 ft right now, but the KLF's are for after a room remodel and seating will be a few feet further back. Thanks, Ken
  9. I recently purchased the KLF-C7 because i heard it was an awesome center, and am pretty much building a system around that speaker. I currently have an older RF-15 and RC-25 system with RB-61 II's for surround. I really like this system but want something bigger. I have two HSU VTF-3 MK4 subs. I'm just confused on the whole 2-way vs 3-way which I think is the main difference between the KLF-10 VS THE KLF-20'S. Am I missing something that would make the KLF-20's better for my use? I have a lead on some KLF-10's so I am thinking I should get them and if I feel the need to later get the KLF-20, I can move the KLF-10's to surround duty. I asked this question over on the Klipsch owner thread at AVS and two people (who's opinions I respect) responded that the KLF-20 is a much better speaker, but the KLF-10's aren't slouches and would work too. I guess I am looking for more info on why they are much better in my situation. Thanks, Ken

WTB KLF-10's or 20's preferably in black

I'm in the works on making a deal with a guy 5 hours away for a pair of KLF-10's. He also has KLF-30's but isn't selling those. I'm probably paying a tad to much for them as they have some scratches on them but otherwise look to be in good shape. I think a sharpie or some kind of stain marker will solve the scratch problem. One grill has a small 3/4 inch tear in them and is probably the thing that would bug me the most. I would probably just use them without the grills anyway. He says the cabinets don't have any loose panels or rattle going on. $500 plus the cost of getting them here. He is talking with his shipping manager at work to see if shipping may be worth it as apposed to spending the day driving and gas cost. They will be coming from the Chicago area to St. Louis area. We have discussed possibly meeting half way but he wants $100 in gas if he can find the time. I'm the one that requested the possible shipping option so I don't think he will try to scam me or anything. People keep telling me the KLF-20 is a better speaker but I have good subs. Maybe down the road I can get the KLF-20's and move the KLF-10's to surround duty. For now I will be using my RB-61 II's for surround.

Thanks MattSER, I text the number listed a few days ago about possible shipping, and never heard back.
  12. Hello, I was directed here by some members in the Klipsch owners thread over at AVS. I'm looking for a pair of KLF-10's in Black. I might consider the KLF-20's also. I have two 12" HSU VTF-3 MK4's for bass so I am thinking the 2-way KLF-10 would work best for me. I already own the KLF-C7. I will most likely need to have them shipped. I am located in the St. Louis area. My zip code is 62223 Thanks, Ken
