  1. Funny I ran across this thread now. I'm the one that bought this. I sold the sub and the center is sitting in a closet. I'm using a Heresy II between them. Swapped the diaphragms to Crites TI. Yeah he originally accepted $1000 offer from me, then came back and said he was swamped with offers for full price and one guys was willing to drive quit a distance. He asked if I would do the $1200. Thanks Defato.
  2. The Chorus II's are a light walnut, so I wonder if it might be better to just use Oak on the other speakers to darken them some. I'm not looking for an exact match. Oak sounds like it might be easier to work with. Actually I also plan on doing a pair of Black KG 2.5's too. I have a Oak Heresy II between the Chorus II's that doesn't look out of place. I might just do the black set and call it.
  3. I have Walnut oiled Chorus II's. I want to redo some light oak KG 2.5's to match. Any recommendations on a good product?
  4. It appears the studs broke loose on the magnet. I just thought they were bolts instead of the typical nuts to tighten. Anyway when I went to reinstall I noticed the magnet was spinning on the horn. Turns out both magnets are doing this. I don't know if someone used lock tight on them to make the nuts seal breaking loose the studs or what.
  5. Good point. The K-76 is a very tight fit already
  6. What about the K-75? I can't seem to find a K-79 anywhere online.
  7. I'm familiar with the Ti diaphragms. So you think it's a good option if I'm buying a new tweeter anyway to get the K-79 over the K-76?
  8. I need a replacement magnet for my Heresy II. I'll be installing the Crites Titanium diaphragm. My question is can I swap the K-76 magnet with a K-79 on the stock Heresy II horn lens? Reason I ask is this is a center speaker for my Chorus II'S which uses the K-79-k.
  9. Do you guys think I would notice a big improvement going from the Emotiva BasX3 140watts per channel to the XPA-3 275 watts per channel. The Chorus II's are super efficient.

  11. I have two of these that I was using for surround speakers. $300 each located in the St. Louis Metro area on the Illinois side. 15 minutes from St Louis. Comes with the Crites Diaphragm and the original. Normal wear for a speaker this age. No emblem on the grills, I took them off since I had them vertical and can't find them now.
  12. The AW-650's would work nicelly if you have a tall enough ceiling. They sound great and would be easier to aim and what not. I tried them for my Atmos setup but my ceiling is only 7.5 feet tall. After hanging down a few inches I felt I didn't have quite enough speration from the surrounds. But thinking back, it probably was just as good since they could be aimed better than in-ceiling speakers.
  13. Thanks, Thatis how I have been running them. Toed in to the center of the love seat as if there was a seat there. I was just thinking I might try somethign new. I'm going to try aiming a little less poiting at about a foot behind the usual spot.
  14. For you KLF owners, how for are you generally toeing in your mains? I have a 7.4.4 Atmos setup with KLF C-7 for center and surrounds. I'm just curious in a home theater setup with one row of seating (couch). Are you aming at the center seat ears, or are you aiming forward, or backward from that spot? I'm 8-12 inches from side walls, and about 6-9 inches from behind wall. I do have some black out surtains hund behind (side of projector screen). Ignore the tape on the speakers, I put that there to line up my level with center of speaker. I just made new stands for the surrounds, so I am re doing setup. I still need to paind thew top of one stand, I messed up the painted top on that one. Thanks,
  15. If you happen to still have those KLF 20's next month I 2ould be interested. Just dropped 2 grand on a computer build over the weekend so it's a no go this month. PM me in 4 weeks if no takers.
  16. I just got back from a road trip with the KLF-10's. I have not run Audyssey yet and just unhooked my RF-15's/RC-25 and plugged the KLF-10's and KLF-C7 in. I am blown away by the sound so far. I will try to run Audyssey tomorrow but all I have to say is WOW! I have three Ti Diaphragms coming from Bob Crites in the next couple days too. I'm still on the hunt for the KLF-20's but in all Honesty I would be happy with just the 10's all the way around. I'll keep my RF-61 II's in surround duty untill I find another set of KLF's Ken
  17. Thanks Sancho! Feels like x-mas! I just read the email that Bob Crites sent my 3 Ti Diaphragms off priority mail on Friday. They should arrive in the next couple days.

  19. Thanks for the replies! My main concern is the seating will be around 13 ft from the fronts. The room is 13 ft wide. I do have two capable subs in my HT system already. I thought I have read that 3-way needs a larger room where seating distance is further from the speakers? My current speakers are pretty in your face now when cranked to -10 for movies. I am sitting about 10 ft right now, but the KLF's are for after a room remodel and seating will be a few feet further back. Thanks, Ken
  20. I recently purchased the KLF-C7 because i heard it was an awesome center, and am pretty much building a system around that speaker. I currently have an older RF-15 and RC-25 system with RB-61 II's for surround. I really like this system but want something bigger. I have two HSU VTF-3 MK4 subs. I'm just confused on the whole 2-way vs 3-way which I think is the main difference between the KLF-10 VS THE KLF-20'S. Am I missing something that would make the KLF-20's better for my use? I have a lead on some KLF-10's so I am thinking I should get them and if I feel the need to later get the KLF-20, I can move the KLF-10's to surround duty. I asked this question over on the Klipsch owner thread at AVS and two people (who's opinions I respect) responded that the KLF-20 is a much better speaker, but the KLF-10's aren't slouches and would work too. I guess I am looking for more info on why they are much better in my situation. Thanks, Ken
  21. I'm in the works on making a deal with a guy 5 hours away for a pair of KLF-10's. He also has KLF-30's but isn't selling those. I'm probably paying a tad to much for them as they have some scratches on them but otherwise look to be in good shape. I think a sharpie or some kind of stain marker will solve the scratch problem. One grill has a small 3/4 inch tear in them and is probably the thing that would bug me the most. I would probably just use them without the grills anyway. He says the cabinets don't have any loose panels or rattle going on. $500 plus the cost of getting them here. He is talking with his shipping manager at work to see if shipping may be worth it as apposed to spending the day driving and gas cost. They will be coming from the Chicago area to St. Louis area. We have discussed possibly meeting half way but he wants $100 in gas if he can find the time. I'm the one that requested the possible shipping option so I don't think he will try to scam me or anything. People keep telling me the KLF-20 is a better speaker but I have good subs. Maybe down the road I can get the KLF-20's and move the KLF-10's to surround duty. For now I will be using my RB-61 II's for surround.
