It doesn't sound like you need a fire rated box per code. The box does include tile bridges, so it will be fine in that application. The fire box was designed to fit it small areas, studs for instance and to pass code for installation in plenum spaces. The in ceiling was designed for free air space, a box may tighten the bass, however, I have not had the chance to listen to one in this box. Suggestion, cut a piece of 1/2 plywood the size of the tile and lay it on top of the tile. I will offer better bass responce Vs. the tile alone. The tile may not support the CDT. You would not need an install kit.

Craig, The CDT-5800-C should be fine and the one I would suggest. Let me know why you ask about a back box? Code in your area. The ME is a Fire Rated enclosure The ME boxes are designed to install between ceiling joists. The 800-C outside deminsions are 18 x 17.75, so that will not fit between a 24 inch by 24 inch tile. Let me know about why you need to ME box and I will get back to you in the morning

Speakerlab Khorns (clones) $700 Portland Craigslist
Steve Phillips replied to mungkiman's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
As I was a bit curious about the size of T-350 compared to the K-77 Alnico, I asked Jim Hunter for his thoughts this morning. It seems there where at least 3 different sizes one could find the EV tweeter, all marked T-350. One larger as pictured in Bob's post, one the same size as the K-77 and one even a bit smaller than the K-77. Jim suggested we have all three down in the museum in Hope. I knew I had seen the T-350 the same size as the K-77 and it was chrome plated, too nice to be inside a cabinet was my first thought. -
Speakerlab Khorns (clones) $700 Portland Craigslist

What do T 350s look like? I have a pair of tweeters that came with a pair of speakerlabs. The EV T-350 and the early K-77 chrome Alnico look alike, as EV supplied them -
There ya go fixed, not sure what happened to it....[]

Having spent 3 months with beta Ref IV up front I had the chance to A/B my RC-7 to the RC-64. My front end is RB-75's, I now have the RC-64, the blend across the front is now seamless. With the RC-7, I could tell the difference and had noticed it before the RC-64 even came out. RC-7 too big with RB-75's? No way, it was our suggestion as a center. RB-15 as surrounds, maybe step up to the RB-25 if you can find them, if you really want to use a direct radiating speaker as a surround, they should be fine. The RB-25 has keyhole mounts like the RB-15, wall mounting would be easy. I have the RB-5 as well, they are nice speakers, but the RB-75 is the way to go in my opinion

Ya they are so sweet. Sub?, they don't need no sub......We had a bit of fun with them last night before I left work around 7 PM. 120 to 122 dB with room to spare......ouch, trey wasn't in the room, Mike can relate though. BTW, I was off the clock LOL Sorry guy's, but IF anything should ever come up and they have to go.....they are mine, I already have dibs on em.[] 1" 9 ply...to be exact.

Klipsch RF-5 / RF -7 with Tube Integrated Amplifiers
Steve Phillips replied to willmi's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
In my position I am not supposed to suggest one brand over another. However, we have the Cayin S A-88T/6550 in one of our rooms and we took it to Hope for the Pilgrimage this year. This is a 22W triode; 45W ultralinear per channel intergrated amp. I have listened to the RF-7 with this amp and was very happy with the overall performance. All I may really suggest is to your question is yes. The RF-7 and 5 should respond very well to tube amps as well as Intergrated tube amps -

Trey's tent party pics
Steve Phillips replied to cyclonecj's topic in Forum Meetup Planning + Past Klipsch Pilgrimages
send me the pics and i can size them for you? Photoshop has the ability to resize to be reasonable to 56.6 without resizing the photo, it just resaves at a lower but acceptable quality Thanks for the offer, but I can resize them, Amy wanted me to bring them as they were. That way they may be "blown" up to a larger size if someone wanted. We can do the same here at work. -

There should be some more tent raising pics up Tuesday sometime. We will put them in the gallery with a link to it. They will all be about 1 meg each, sorry those on dial up. It is a lot easier to do this from work than home -

Sorry no one has answered. We at Klipsch can not suggest a brand, but a Pro amp rated at 300+ wpc would be the suggestion. You may get some feed back from the Pro section of the forum, but there may not be much activity there.
