  1. I've decided to go with some JTR speakers. let me know when you've sold, and hopefully they're still around for you to pick up.
  2. I am selling my nearly flawless THX Ultra 2 speaker system (without subs). There is one slight blemish on the top of one of the L/C/Rs, and some slight marks near the keyholes on the back of the surrounds. Other than that, these speakers are perfect. They also come in all of their original packaging. Package includes: 3 x KL-650-THX, 4 x KS-525-THX
  3. Nearly flawless system with one minor surface scratch on one speaker and some minor abrasions around the mounting holes of the surrounds. Includes: 3 x KL-650-THX, 4 x KS-525-THX $3700US + shipping.
  4. My room will be quite large (24x18x12) so I'm thinking 11.2 should increase the soundstage quite nicely. The MX-A5000 is only 150wpc (2 ch driven). I'm thinking with the room size, I should give those speakers some more power.
  5. Ok. Please be patient. Here's what I'm thinking. Yamaha CX-A5000 11.2 pre/pro L/C/R: KL-650 Surround side/back: KL-650 Front/Back heights: KL-525 Subs: 4x KW-120 Sub amps:2x KA-1000 Amplifiers: 1x Emotiva XPA-5 2x Emotiva XPA-3 My question now is..... Should I substitute that B&K amp in there, somewhere? Thanks again for all your input.
  6. Exactly the info I was looking for. Thank you. Do you happen to have any opinions on Emotiva amplifiers? Their new XPR-5(400 w/ch driven x 5) and XPA-2(300 w/ch driven x 2)look like good deals. That would give me a good 7 channels driven. I was then thinking of pairing that with the new Yamaha CX-A5000 pre-amp. Seeing as it's an 11.2 pre/amp system, I was then thinking of going with 2 UPA-200s (125w/ch driven x2) for the 4 "presence" speakers. Overkill? As a bit of backstory, I currently have a Yamaha RX-V3800 AVR hooked up to a Revel Concerta 7.1 speaker system. This is in an 11x12 room. We are currently building a house where I am lucky enough to get myself an 18x24x10 sound treated media room, so needless to say, a serious upgrade! I',m definitely going to go with separates, but I don't want to go too "little" or too "big". I'm looking for the "Goldilocks" solution. Just right! Any insight is greatly appreciated.
  7. Hi Guys. This is my first post, so I appreciate the input in advance. I'm building a 24X18X10 dedicated media room, (4320 cubic feet) and I was wondering if you had any thoughts on the power requirements for the THX Ultra 2 speaker system for this kind of space. I don't want to go too crazy, but I'm thinking the 150wpc or so of most integrated AVRs just isn't going to cut it. Also wondering if the dual sub setup in the system is enough, or whether I should double up and have 4 subs in the room. i will be building a baffle wall, and adding sound panels to the walls if that helps your opinion. These are the pieces I'm looking at. (3) KL-650-THX Bookshelf Speaker (2) KL-525-THX Bookshelf Speaker (2) KW-120-THX Subwoofer (1) KS-525-THX Surround Speakers (pair) (1) KA-1000-THX Amplifier Thanks
  8. Sorry....should have posted this in a new thread. i fI can only figure out how! Seriously new to forums!
