  1. Bit late to the party . To be honest we would of just been happy with a winning season this year. Who wudda thunk it!
  2. Anyone who has Cornscalas or Cornwalls can mount these on top of the cabinet and use what they already have as bass cabinets. Your xover would need to have the ability to attenuate the midrange. If not ALK universal or Dean's SuperX would do the trick. This is what i did with my Cornscalas. Wont win any beauty contest thou. They only thing left of the the original Crites Cornsacala is the cabinet and woofer.
  3. I'm sure it sounds great. I gutted my Cornacala C except for the woofer using it only as a bass cabinet. Purchased Volti's V-Trac horn with its Beyma tweeter and mounted it on top of the Cornscala cabinet. http://www.klipschupgrades.com/vtrac.shtml Tied it all together with the Dean's Super X crossover. K-Hornwall if you will.

  7. Not cheap at "only" $7900 but a consideration for those with the means. These were pre-production units at the Capital Audio Fest From Stereophile's Herb Reichert - "Most of you must know I am a long time fan of Volti Audio's Vittoria horn-loaded loudspeakers. They achieve what I always thought was impossible: a smooth, coherent, hyper-efficient loudspeaker that bubbles with musical life—and never let's on it's a horn speaker. Most folks that heard it agreed except, many wished it was smaller and less expensive. Well, Volti proprietor/engineer, Greg Roberts was listening and at CAF released a smaller, less expensive model, the Rival at only $7900/pair. The sound, while not quite as sweet and sophisticated as the Vittora, was "oh my my" tight fast and textured. The box, the drivers and the music reproduced seemed properly scaled, utterly uncompressed. The new 99dB-sensitive Rival delivered a great portion of the bigger speaker's pleasures. Bravo Volti! The new Rivals were driven by Border Patrol S20 EXD parallel, single-ended, dual-mono 300B amplifiers ($16,750/pair) and the Border patrol 1543 DAC ($1500). All cables were Triode Wire Labs and sourced from a PI Audio UberBUSS power distribution block."

  9. $500 was a bit much for me when I initially ordered the preamp but I do understand that the type of attenuator used can greatly affect the sound quality. If you're going to offer a remote it has to be as good as the non-remote version. What I love about this preamp is the use of the 6SN7 tube. Much better sounding,IMHO, than the 6922 and the like. Moreover, you only need one 6SN7 tube. They are plentiful and inexpensive so tube rolling to find the sound you prefer is easy and fun. All tubes on the UV3 are not stressed and will give years of trouble free listening

yes they are, jwc. I replaced the xover and selenium driver from my Crites Cornscala with an ALK Universal (later with Dean's Super X) and DCM50. Much smoother response, better imaging and transparency. True upgrade and not a sideways move. Reason for sale? The twice the price BMS 4592ND-Mid

  15. Here's my journey leading to the Voltis FWIW https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/162042-my-k-hornwalls/ Greg did mention to me that the Beyma can be a bit much for some but not in my system. But even it were, Greg can help you with the attenuation. No idea how it compares against the Fastlane but if you google Volti, you'll find nothing but praise for his Allura and Vittora http://voltiaudio.com/ I did get to hear a full blown Volti upgraded K-Horn and it was an experience for sure

  18. What a difference a horn makes. My upgrades from the stock Crites Cornscalas can be found here: https://community.kl...perx/?p=1830023 I came across a Klipschorn on my local craigslist and as mush as I tried to convince myself to buy them, I knew they wouldnt work in my room with short wall corner placement and all. So what to do? Well since the Cornscala takes the best attributes from the Lascala and Cornwall, I'll do the same with the Cornscala and a Khorn. In other words, a Khorn that doesnt need to be in a corner. My search led me to Volti Audio. After several email exchanges and a nice chat with Greg Roberts, I ordered his V-Trac horn and Beyma CP 25 tweeters. http://www.klipschup...com/vtrac.shtml My K-hornwalls wont win any beauty contest but boy do they sound sublime
