  1. Those are local to me ....damn .... can't justify another pair of CW's. The price is not really out of line given the upgrades and the guy has signaled that he's willing to negotiate in any event. Hope someone jumps on these.

  2. Hey gang.... back again after a lengthy trip to support my daughter and say goodbye to an old friend. My daughter's mom (my first wife) passed away after a lengthy and nasty battle with leukemia.  She went through hell but is at peace now. Honestly, I just haven't felt like posting anything until now. I'm home now and trying to pull Christmas together along with Better Half Unit. Think we'll make it.

Hope everyone is well. Happy to be home in Colorado. Missed you guys. Cheers, folks.

  3. Mornin' gang ... 2.5 cups down and ready for the day.

Worked on restoring an old cedar chest yesterday and looking pretty nice now. Finished just in time to watch the Broncos win over SD and grill some burgers.

Gonna take a little family trip starting Wed. and may be a little out of pocket till the end of the week.

    Have a good Monday, all.

  4. Good grief ...when I checked out yesterday there was still banana talk ... missed a whole 'bunch' since then. Tried to catch up somewhat.

Great sunny day here with the temps going to maybe 60. Gonna do some mesquite grilled burgers tonight after the Broncos/Chargers game. Meantime working on restoring my grandmother's very old cedar chest.

Dats about it on the update. Sunday cheers guys (and gals).

  5. Looks like we've lost our banana theme ... so sad. 'Where have all the bananas gone, long time passing....' (In keeping with the new '60's/hippie theme).

Steve ... been thinking nice things about you, but I'm very shy about expressing myself. Will have to work on that.

    Happy Saturday gang.

  6. That's a really fair price if the unit is in good shape. I've seen 103's and 95's listed in that price range on Audiogon. I'm full up on Oppo or would buy it myself. Somebody grab it.

  7. This has been quite an unexpected lesson in banana 'science' this morning. (Yes, it is still morning here). Used to love bananas and banana flavor when I was younger .... even the artificial flavoring in candy, snack cakes, etc.

Not so much anymore. Bananas just don't a-peel like they used to.

    Cheers.

  8. Klipsch has always sought to protect its image in the marketplace as a high or higher end manufacturer. When I was a relatively young guy (I'm an old guy now) a family friend had a number of discussions with PWK about potential discounts on Heritage speakers. The bottom line was that Klipsch would discontinue its relationship with any dealer caught discounting its speakers. I suspect this sort of thinking is one factor among many in the company's decision to raise prices yet again.

As for me, with one exception (KLF-30's), all my Klipsch purchases have been in the gently used market and that won't change anytime soon.

  9. Happy late Tues morning gang. Checking in late. A buddy asked me to attend an early  breakfast meeting of some business folks with a motivational speaker. It did not work. I am not motivated. Crap.

    Mark .. Happy Belated B-day. Sounds like fun and at least interesting;

Cold, cloudy day here in Colorado but no new snow. Gotta get our sunshine back or braggin' rights will go down the tubes.

    Cheers, guys.

  10. Hey gang, got a lot of catching up to do from yesterday. Probably need to start fresh from this point.

Hope your Sunday was good. Pretty mundane here with bill paying, groceries, etc. Knocked off the rest of Thanksgiving pie and do NOT want to get on the scale. Watched our Broncos pull off a big win vs. the Pats. We were still cleaning the kitchen at 10:30 last night but well worth it.

    Enjoy the day and cheers.

  11. Cold and a little snowy out here again today. Probably won't get out of the 20's till next week. Enough of my bitchin' though ... this will be a good day to crank up some tunes on the system and maybe play a few myself. Life is good.

Mark, I don't 'qualify' for the BS forum and it doesn't look like I'm missing much, so that's ok. No interest in on-line arguments with anyone. I spent 39 years of a very active career in a very contentious field. Audio is a pleasure and hobby for me. Reducing it to egos and disagreeable personalities would take the fun out of it. I avoid that stuff in other areas of this forum like the plague.

Have a good weekend, all. Will try to get back later today or tomorrow.

  12. Hope everyone had a great Turkey Day.

Smoked the bird for a couple of hours and that was just right for us. Transferred to the oven and turned out good. Brining helped a lot too. Baxter and the standard poodle romped in the back yard until they practically dropped. Much fun.

70 degrees, Chuck? Really?? Damn. It's not going to be over 20 here and the snow is falling. :o

    Have a great day guys.

  13. Happy Turkey friends.

Jake ... Baxter woofs greetings and is jealous of your feast. Sez he'll try to top it.

We have a mob coming. About 10 people and a standard poodle. (The poodle should stay home but what the hell ... it's going home eventually). Will crank up the HT with football in our lower level so there's a place to bail out.

Gonna get the smoker cranked up in a bit and do about 2 hours of pecan smoke on the bird before I hand it off to Better Half Unit to finish in the oven. It's just a ***** to smoke a 20 plus lb bird to finish at our altitude in cold temps and not gonna go there this year. (We have snow on the ground and more on the way).

    Blessings to all.

  14. Happy Thanksgiving Eve guys. Got my turkey brine ready almost and about to give the bird a 24 hr cold soak for tenderness and flavor. Still planning on smoking it with pecan wood for a couple of hours and transferring it to the oven. May need my parka and snow boots, but what the hell.

Big Stew, I just had that procedure done about 10 days ago and it just isn't that big-a-deal compared to the benefits. It is SO worth it. You will be fine and will get through it with flying colors. 3 or 4 of our friends have also had it done recently. Enough for a focus group!!

Gotta get busy here but will try to check back in a while.

    Cheers to all.
