  1. It's my understanding that if a trademark owner permits or overlooks infringements on its mark, it can lose the legal protections it sought when it registered the mark. That's why so many companies are agressive in defending trademarks against any infringements. I think eth2 is probably correct. Ya'll have a great weekend!!

  2. I have experienced incremental (not dramatic) improvements in sound upgrading interconnects and speaker cable, but not with my one experiment at upgrading a power cord. Guess mileage varies a lot and you'll have to experiement. Keep watching this thread... a can of worms may be open!!

  3. This is good information, Moray. Thank you. Quick question ... I've bought my 30's brand new in the late 90's and have never noticed problems with vibration, rattling, etc., and they've been through a cross country move back in '02. Have I just been lucky or did Klipsch fix the problem at some point?? Thanks and best regards to you, too!! Chuck

  4. I'd agree with Youthman on asking prices I've seen on the 30's ($600-$900) though i've also seen higher. Hard to tell what actual selling prices are. I got my 30's new in the late 90's. I later picked up 10's (my rear surrounds) and C-7 (center) off a CL sale in the Denver area for $350 which was a steal. The asking price on the C-7 alone is often $250 - $400. Again, who knows what actual selling prices are. Good luck!!

  5. If you want a great match just be patient and try to find a KLF C-7 for the center and either KLF-20's or 30's for the front. Add the sub of your choice, just find one that can keep up and digs deep enough. This is do-able. The speakers are out there and they do come up for sale. I know 'cause I did it!! The sound is incredible. I'm running 5.1 but if I wanted to expand, I'd look for more 10's or 20's. Like you, I replaced a mis-matched system. The seems to be finding a good sonic match, and staying within the KLF series really did the trick. I also replaced my Denon AVR with Marantz separates, and that made a significant, positive difference as well. Best of luck and keep us posted!!

  6. Saw a pair of 'designer" Cornwalls on the Denver CL for $600 obo. Look under Klipsch in Electronics (no surprise, huh?). Appear a little rugged perhaps. No affiliation and I do not know the seller.
