  1. OK, Matt, my final offer . . . the same $250 I offered way back when, before you started all this stuff. I'll even come and pick it up . . . . Don't be one of those too proud to accept any offer of HELP.
  2. Well, darn! There goes my chance for a $250 B-A-R-G-A-I-N!!! To think I was about to do you a favor and take it off your hands . . . .
  3. Valerie Klipsch. Evidently, a very blessed and rich woman. Blessed to be with her Creator now, and rich in the affection of the many of you here who knew her and cared for her.
  4. Welcome, Tom, Like you, I never did a thing to mine, either. No doubt, many of the comments about improvements/mods made to the KLF speakers reflect real, as well as perceived, differences. One question I have never resolved in my mind is when all the changing of the internals, electronics, damping, and on and on actually move the speaker out of the range to be considered "Klipsch" anymore.
  5. Interesting, isn't it? Such different answers to the one question. And all of them "right"--at least well-intentioned, (mostly) from personal experience, and without too much definition of what is meant by the terms used to describe. So, my own answer follows suit. I have had the 30s, 20s, and 10s, all owned simultaneously. Used in HT and "critical" music modes. Admission--am more "mature" at age 70, so my hearing has declined significantly--what the heck, GONE, above about 12Khz. But what I can hear, I can hear very well. As I personally love big and full and rich sound, I am thrilled by the quality of sound produced by all 3 speakers. As "better" and price-points and 2-way vs 3-way are all individual preferences, the unquantified/non-numerical assessment I have is that all 3 sound wonderful, and do wonders for those who like towers. Am sure there are many who know much more about the subject, and who have actual experience with the similarities and differences. And I am also sure that a few of these actually can discern some significant differences. To them, and for all who want to know more and experience more, thank you for detailing the specifics that help others--like me--learn more what I am hearing, and what I "should" be listening for.
  6. Dave? Calling Dave . . . . Pickup--only a little south--in your time zone.
  7. Sehr gut, Nitemare, Youthman, und Dave. Abbe, ich habbe alles meine Deutsch vergessen!
  8. Sorry, am not getting the math.$450 + $600 + $210 + $280 = $1,540. What am I missing?
  9. Actually, I just brought home a pair of KLF-10 speakers, with Crites tweeters (had never heard any Crites improvements, so I simply wanted to experience a little for myself). Having just sold my C7 center 2 weeks ago, I put my KG 2.2v center between them. I thought they (the 3) sounded great together. Now, I have not experienced a long and varied run with that combination, but surely sounded excellent to me. But then, I may be more modest, because I like the KG 2.2 sound. My opinion, anyway.
  10. Aaron, If you have not solved your center issue, have you seen this Academy? NA! https://stlouis.craigslist.org/ele/5441362327.html
  11. ^ Curious how many have lived long enough to recognize the reference above.
  12. "Car 54, where are you?"--Dave (WVU80), don't you need to get away from the WV winter for a few days . . . ?
  13. Turtle--PM sent--couple of questions.
  14. Matt!!!--little urging needed! You know me, a car and a road ahead and a speaker just over the hill . . . .
  15. Turtle, PM sent. To those who may have interest in the sub, I did not make a bid, so nothing "going on".
  16. No technical comments, but the photo of your setup . . . fantastic! Happy for you, Matt. You will have many thousands of hours of "Audio Nirvana".
  17. Pls forgive accidental double post.
  18. Beautiful speakers, beautiful city. Charleston geography quiz--those REALLY in the know are aware that: at Charleston, the Ashley and Cooper Rivers converge, and they form the Atlantic ocean! Just ask any Charlestonian . . . . right, Fuzzy?
  19. Thanks, Jim. I have gotten very good deals from time to time. Can't expect it to be a one-way street. Like it best, when both/all parties are very pleased with the transaction.
