  1. Speaker rating has nothing to do with the reciever power.....not the way your thinking anyway....might be a problem if you had 200 watt amp and 30 watt max. speakers. other wise get the ones you wanted ,,,rick
  2. Beware,,,i had started talking to this guy about one pair and he puts them on e-bay...i guess its his right to do this,,,but if i had started talking to someone about a deal ,i would not spoil it by doing this....just wanted to vent...lol....good luck if you want them....rick
  3. I have been to three best buys in kc area all had something wrong with the set up,,,,one had hometheater option not working right, one had some of the speakers with static, one had it working ok but it sounded bad for some reason. I think bestbuy is not setting these up right, while i dont have a sub woofer i figured out one system had the sub hooked up wrong...i hooked it up right, also one wire was not even hooked to it,,lol,,,sounded better. When i did ask bestbuy salesboy to fix the hometheater setting, he said he couldn't.I still think Klipsch needs to set this stuff up in the stores.rick
  4. I had another idea,,,,take the good woofer and put it in the other bass bin and see if it still makes the noise,,,,,if not,, put the bad woofer in the other bass bin...if it still makes the noise,,,,buy new woofers....most of us who buy k-horns not concerned about original woofers in them...but if you are just have it reconed.....could be something as simple as a wire hitting the inside of bass chamber or cone,,look at that to...think simple stuff first those woofers are tough and if they do go bad they go bad in a big way....rick
  5. The woofer access door gasket could be bad,,,thus letting woofer bottom out...just a thought,,,,,,rick

  13. well i have been thinking about slotcar track for awhile,,,,you need alot of stuff inside to make it work...the rent here is so high i dont think i could make a raceway work....but if you have other stuff it might...the problem is r/c cars dont need a track like slotcars do, so most just use backyard or street.there have been r/c tracks here that come and go,,,,,wont make enough money to support you i dont think.i think slotcars are more fun myself....oh well just my 2 cents worth...rick
  14. In 9th grade bought sony reciever and koss pro4aa headphones, then ar2ax speakers, then altec something, then LaScala finally found nirvana lol had them since 1980...in that time i have heard a lot of Bull**** and still Klipsch blows them all away with 10 watts....which is very funny when you think about it.....rick

  17. i got an idea i would like you to try...go to wal-mart and get 1 or 1 1/2 inch grippers and put one on each bottm corner and one in center.then roll up the carpet on other end of room to expose the floor.you will have to pry those sliders off bottom of Scala. This was Andys idea to me and it does work...really hooks up the Scalas...i think the one in the center does help to....if nothing else its cheap to try,,,,,there are a lot of posts on this idea..just click on my profile and look at last ten posts.....rick

  20. If those k-horns are on hard floor you need grippers on the bottom,,,do a search under grippers ..HDBR ...andy...has some advice on this...also click on my profile and look up grippers.Andy said they went to a house and set up some k-horns once with grippers, good seals and Paul came by and gave a listen...he said thats the way they are suppose to sound.....you can get grippers at wal-mart they use to have several sizes i looked other day and now they only have one size not sure why...make sure it says grippers.they really hooked up my Scalas and then i got a HK430 and wow.......rick
  21. Well im going to recomend a HK430 but im sure others will say something else......i just say try it,,,wont cost much to try....Rick
  22. You might want to put grippers on the bottom if they are on hard floor.I also would not mount the horn on the front.....you could click on my last ten postnd get some more ideas....good luck...i would ask HDBR...Andy...about the mounting horn on front.how to mount it on the back to...rick

  25. Are you sure that 87.00 is for tweeter kits or whole tweeters? Also it could be the price for two tweeter kits which is still kinda high.Well maybe when you get the package you will know more...i cant imagine them charging that much for diaphrams...Also the k-33 is the correct woofer and NO there are not any better ones to use, alot of people have tried, but i dont think you should mess with perfection,,,lol,,Rick
