  1. Hey MOOKIE....I dont think you need to do all that work to stiffen sides up. I just put screws in the side panels I think it was 6 on each side then veneered the outside of the panel. Before I did this I could flex the panels easily with one hand on each side....I wish i would have video of it.... after I cant make them move even using my Knee and both hands on the other side. Seems lie a lot of work for the look of thicker sides to me but hey they do look pretty good.
  2. You never said how old this dryer is I dont think. I have rebuilt these a lot and I think your problem is drum seals. The seals go bad and the air is sucked in around the drum instead of through the heating element. The seals are pretty cheap and easy to replace, I kept one old whirlpool dryer going for over 18 years. The only reason to replace one is when motor goes out then its to costly to fix. Another reason is the bearings the drum rides on will slow the drum down so much the fan has no power to suck air. But I think you said it blows out the hose good. Which is even more reason to look at those seals. When seals go bad a lot more air pressure goes out the exhaust hose because of the air is bypassing the filter and heater.
  3. Those are a good deal....chip is easy fix wont be perfect but fixable.

    So...

Well HI Amy, Hope you are well and your doing the best. We all miss you for sure. I have been busy had liver transplant......ride bicycle 2000 miles a year now since I dont work....got bunch of grand kids.....wife talked me into a camper so we do that now...lol. Heres a pic from the past for you. I think you had a hand in getting these not sure how many got one though. Keep in touch with us please.
  8. There some thing fishy with wiring.....or bad connection. Beg or borrow an old school reciever and test them with that. Check the ohms on the woofers to make sure they are still good.....go loosen and retighten all those screws while your in there you will have to undo the woofer connections anyway.... most likely are but you never know. Did you put in the newer crites crossover??? Those Cornwalls will kick butt with as little as 24 watts.
  9. I and a co-worker saw one early in the morning in Grandview Missouri. I watched it all the way to work hoping he was there and saw it also. It was early 80s about 5-530 am. He was in parking lot said no sound at all. I also saw this huge skunk one morning of course no ne believed me till a co-worker saw it. He said sorry rick I believe you now that thing was huge. He agreed it was as tall as his car fender. lol.
  10. To dam much keep looking thats almost new price. Probably get them from Cory for that for B stock ones.

  12. You should call Cory and see what his price is on new Parasound....he is also a Klipsch dealer.
  13. I would say buy them and then fix them to match...much cheaper than new ones.
  14. La scalas and Belles do sound different if you got them next to each other. I would go with LaScalas. Are you buying new ones??? Can you get discount on new ones?? You could probably get 3 Forte III across the front easier and save loads of money. Finding 3 Belles??? Good luck with that you will have to buy 4 used ones to get that. Same goes for used LaScalas probably. You could go to ttps://www.paducahhometheater.com/heater he has all those to listen to except Bells although if your not going to order from him probably not good idea. You could go to FB Klipsch page see if anyone close to you has those models. Another idea would be 3 Cornwalls across the not not as big. You never said how big the room is going to be so thats a deciding factor also.
  15. I would change them back to type A crossovers and replace all the caps. They should be sealed into corners with pipe foam or float tubes. You could also do an upgrade Bob Crites has in kit form of changing the cross over point to take the load off the mid driver. It requires a different tweeter though. If on hardwood or smooth floor get some furniture grippers for them. The washer on mid horn is probably hard and cracked Bob has those. I just used O-Rings in mine I liked the way they didn't block the horn path. Bobs replacement tweeter is much better I think. Thats the easiest mods you can do with out getting to much into it . There are a lot more but pretty involved.
  16. Dont forget to seal bass bin in corner with pool noodle or pipe foam....vertical and horizontal. I would just put in new capacitors on the type A crossover. Bob Crites has a kit or you can just get some from parts express. Im sure the mid driver gasket is probably bad Bob has those I used O-Ring on mine which seems to fit the horn better to me. Heres a type a schematic...Easy to fix up.
  17. Looks like you have room to spread all the right side out wider...do you? Toe those front one in a bit. Get furniture grippers for the front ones also . Loos like you have everything set up in a exact square which is self defeating. Notice the rears are closer together and not pointing at the mains. The sides are even with the couch. Not a square setup. So if you spread the fronts out a bit then move TV and couch over to center then move rears in and sides back it might be better .
  18. The foam for back panel seal can e any weather stripping. I think a HK 40 is all you need for Heresy's. The mid horn gasket is at Crites but used a O-ring with a ittle drop of super glue to hold it to driver and a little Vaseline for lub when I screwed it in...lol.

  20. I would have used watco rejuvenating oil....reinforce inside of access panel with layer of 1/4 ply......put foam seal for the access panel....put new washer or O-ring on mid driver....change caps in crossover loosen and retighten all connections on crossover.....put in banana plug connectors on access panel.....tighten all screws holding woofer and horns. You can get lambs wool cloth if you want to change color of the grills. https://www.123stitch.com/cgi-perl/itemdetail.pl?item=59-135X Oh yea if your going to sit them on hard smooth surface get some furniture grippers for them. Then get a Haram Kardon twin powered reciever 430..630..730...and enjoy.
  21. Just buy the used ones you found. To go to IV will cost a lot more. If you want discount on IVs call Cory Harrison https://www.paducahhometheater.com/ He may have some B-stock in his warehouse. The IV has a port in the back so you will need room behind speaker. The new ones are awesome but price is to high for me.
