  3. Yes it can and I saw a story about something the French were experimenting with but it was too short range and I suspect impractical to use.

Lynnville Tennessee I got four sets of 456's, four single John Allen MWM bins, two EV-TL440 subs and an MCM-1900 out of that batch. Probably will never happen again and yes you should have gone there. Drove to Witchita KS for the next batch of five sets and after that I have only seen three sets come up and I look all the time. They are hard to find and you snooze you lose. One of the first sets I sold went to a guy in MN. He was an airline mechanic who flew down here for free I guess. Drove the rental van here and took a set home.

That's a happy ending to a receiver that I did not need. I went to all Crown amps shortly after I bought that. These are 104db efficient so that Integra and these speakers would run you out of the house.
  6. I have the last of the famous Rigma buyout from years ago and these are recapped and the THX stuff defeated. New Duratex coated. 100's are $225 a set and 200's are $400 a set and pick up only or you can arrange for U-Ship. If there is interest I will post pictures.

I have a set of these I have gone through and all drivers are like they should be. The LF crossovers are new and the HF crossovers are recapped Klipsch OEM. The top horn section was pretty beat up so a new set was built for these and everything but the bass bin motorboard recoated in Duratex. This is a great set of speakers that are plug and play and if you have not heard a set you just don't know what you are missing. $1500 pick up only and yes that is the price. I have sold 9 sets of these before and they all went for that. I do not believe I will find any more and if you have been looking you know how hard these are to come by. PM me for additional pictures.
  8. Oh No don't ask me I had to seek help to do my system. I know enough to be dangerous with all this. I can tell you on the S-MWM it was the way to go. I have a set of KPT-456's in the shop right now and they sound good enough with a passive cross over that I won't go any further.
  9. Yeah your time is coming you just don't know it. Had a friend over a while back and playing some Pink Floyd on the S-MWM's when I look at my arm in shock as the hair was standing straight up. I look over at Bernard and he was starring at his arm hair doing the same thing.
  10. "promising "goosebumps" for those who have the opportunity to listen to the the latest in high frequency driver technology. " I like the comments about raising goose bumps and agree completely. Maybe this is what the TAD guys all rave about but priced so we all can buy into them. TAD's simply were never going to happen here as it is too darned much money for a driver and I don't care what it does.
  11. No actually the numbers here in the USA are not accurate. The people dying are those with underlying causes for over 95% of deaths. They are however being reported as Wuhan Virus deaths and not as a combination of serious pre-existing conditions + Wuhan virus. But see the very same thing is true with the Flu which also hits this same exact group hardest and killed over 61,000 here in the USA TWO YEARS AGO! There is so much complete obfuscation by media over all this it beggars the imagination. You come down with this get your Doctor to prescribe some T Pills and be on the road quickly to recovery.
  12. Do they have a test for the N314X-8 driver too?
  13. What did he say? Could you repeat that?
  14. Got a set of these in yesterday and here are my initial listening impressions and have not measured anything yet. Restoring a set of KPT-456's with the 1132 Klipsch driver running the 506 horn. Decided to put the new N314X-8 on a ZXPC 10 x 18 horn using the 1.4" to 2" adapter PE sells (which by the way was a very nice casting) and take a set of KP-450 HF crossovers from another restoration project to use with them. These things are really light compared to other drivers of similar output used here. Female vocals and all types of percussion magic was my first impression and keep in mind the 456's with the 1132's were on a purpose designed setup. These N314X's were on a cobbled together thing just so I could hear them. The detail is really nice and while listening to some Sheffield big band music just sitting there blown away with the sound. Hugely detailed and clean compared to the 1132's on the 506 horn. I also tried these on the 904 two way factory Klipsch crossovers and they were superb there and all the 510 horn with the DE-75 driver sour notes and crackle instead of cymbals was gone and replaced with great sound. I have had a couple of songs where there were some strident sounds but I am leaning towards the music being the problem. These same songs also do not sound all that great on the S-MWM's either. The KP-450 and 456 crossovers cross at 650hz and the 904's at 900hz. On either crossover and crossover point the drum snap and horn blat and classical music to rock all sounded really nice with the N314X ZXPC horn setup.. This is the best sound out of a set of 904LF type bass bin + an HF horn I have had in this shop and these are not dialed in with a crossover built just for them nor bi-amped with a Xilica so I have no idea what their true potential is. Today I try them with the S-MWM. Don't know how low these N314X's would safely crossover so I will probably set the xilica to 650hz instead of 450 where it is now with the 1132 drivers. If what I expect happens today I will be pulling the 1132's off the S-MWM's and sticking the N314X's on there and ordering another set to experiment with. I don't have a lot of time to fool with this right now but next week hopefully I can get down to some actual measurements. I will fiddle with the crossover point too as I would like to get it down to around 500hz and since I will never go anywhere close to full output I expect I can get away with that. I bust a set of diaphragms up they can be replaced so that would be irritating but worth doing just to see.
  15. It's funny stuff and when I had some pieces in a burn pile there was a semi fibrous mass left over that could easily be crushed but it did retain it's shape though the fire. Two sets left now for anyone who is willing to do a pick up on them.
  16. 25mm is awesome and I use it for any heavy duty cabinet I build.
  17. And the guy who is running it is "World Health Organization (WHO) Director Tedros Adhanom ...is a compromised, former senior leader of an Ethiopian terrorist group, and should be tried for Crimes Against Humanity and Ethnic Cleansing." He was #3 head honcho for them at one time and there is plenty of news out there on this. So no he is NOT a reliable source of info and was put into that spot by China of Wuhan Virus fame.
  18. Yeah My brother is trapped in the Phillipines right now and not sure when he will get home. The few flight out were hard to get to and there are now cases close by.
  19. I am just asking you to justify what you say in spite of the ever growing evidence of patient recovery around the world and that what Trump talked about does work. He is not a seer he is a man with more information at his fingertips than you who has a solid reasons for making his statements of efficacy. Not politics at all until you interjected it just just a question asking you to prove your assertion rather then get all bent out of shape. Are you unhappy he is right and is helping to get this out there in spite of people in positions of power who tried to stop it in two states? Why would you not celebrate something that very well may be the best tool for quickly ending this calamity? It is not just Rudy it is people around the world recovering and they and their Doctors say it is the Hydroxychloroquine. Used for Malaria and Rheumatoid Arthritis and other things it has been proven to be pretty darned safe and does not need ten years of government studies while people die. It needs as a proven tool of recovery to be put out there. I like your WTF too by the way but I will refrain from addressing you that way.
  20. I am in the process of putting 25mm Baltic on a pair of La Scalas and when you stop the cabinet resonance you would swear you found much deeper bass. What has happened though is the bass that is there is now good clean bass that was masked before and what the author states as his experience is precisely what I experience when I do this. I have heard two 1" thick MDF La Scala cabinets and while not side by side for an immediate comparison to La Scalas I have covered with 25mm Baltic I prefer the Baltic.
  21. I had some chinese birch plywood here and it was 2/3 the weight of the Baltic and when you rapped on loose cut pieces the sound was completely different. Regular plywood sounds different too as does MDF.
  22. Prove your statement that he did not know.
  23. Well that's not quite true. They had more snow this past winter than I did. Ridgecrest is not close to the ocean so they have a degree of winter and long hot dry summers.
  24. Beryllium is bad news. I used to do some work for UAH in Huntsville and the Astrophysics lab there too. In the days before there was strict control over toxic things they had a machining job involving Beryllium that was hazard duty pay but no one really thought about it. Every one of those dudes died of cancer induced by Beryllium. First and last time for that kind of work there.
