  1. I've got an opportunity to purchase a used Panamorph UH380 for $700 and want your opinion. I've read that there's some ghosting on the picture/image being projected, especially with JVC projectors. I'm looking at various brands but don't want to have this issue and am looking for your thoughts or opinions. Thanks in advance and happy holidays.

  2. Mikey,

As previously stated, this is freaking awesome, I'm so happy for you. You gotta tell me how you like the Seymour screen as I have also considered using them (AT) with my cinecurve masking frame. My buddy sells the material to Seymour and he swears by it but doesn't really have one of his own (he owns the company that distributes to them). Mine is almost done and I'm in the process of buying a UH380 which I'd love an opinion if any. Take care and have a great thanksgiving.

  3. Thanks everyone for the throwback hotel visits from 70/80's, it brought back some bad and cheesy memories. I also appreciate the thoughts and perspective Scrappydue, I thought that they were a bit gimmicky but thought that maybe it was just me. I do have four kw-120's and I'll look to move them in pairs in a couple of areas (front and side rear) to perhaps gain same affect without all the buttshaking. I'd just hate to complete job and regret making this choice while I'm still in the process.

  4. Good day sir,

As previously stated, your instincts are on point, a salesman or installer will almost always try and get you to buy their product. I happen to own a THX ultra2 system which "MichaelandKlipsch" turned me on to and OMG it's the best I've heard. Now I'm partial to Klipsch and have invested quite a bit but they're freakin awesome, you just won't be disappointed.

I had the same experience with installers but luckily I have a great friend who's in the process of helping me with my new HT (see my gallery) and I decided to do all the work myself. I do agree with a previous callout, post your location and you may find someone local who can guide you or make a great recommendation or help install.

  5. Jim,

First and foremost you have to file a claim with PayPal (if used) and eBay. If you win and I can't see why you wouldn't you'd get a full refund including your original shipping. I've had two claims in 10 years with PayPal and have always received a full refund. Ship ups ground or some other option and bite the bullet to ship back. If at the end of the day you go through the trouble and you still aren't happy you'll only get a refund for what you paid and not for your time and troubles.

The great thing is that PayPal will side with you if you can prove and give you the full refund even before you ship back, they'll then ask the seller to contact you to reclaim their item which you could then handle but you don't have to wait to ship for full refund. I've played hard ball and have forced a seller to pay for shipping or shipped COD back to them.

  6. Keysersoze, first, I love the name and what a great movie....

Check out Bose 791's, which can also be heard at most BestBuy stores, etc. They have a crisp sound and good mids and base.

I love their customer service, warranty which is above most and their quality is as good as some of my klipsch speakers. They also offer a 12 month no interest program to purchase direct from them.... Check em out, you'll agree that they sound great and worth every cent. I'm sure many higher end units will sound better but these are great ones too.

  7. I'd consider one of two options, 1. Walk away and 2. Go through the transaction and leverage PayPal if item is not as described, etc. The down side to #2 is the time it takes for seller to respond to the claim with PayPal but in the end will prevail and you'll get a full refund. I'm not sure that you wouldn't be hit with negative feedback from seller if you walked away because you first have to prove he breached or it will look like you're a non paying bidder.
