  2. They did go to a forum member. If he wants to chime in, he's welcome to. But that's up to him. I'm glad they are going to someone who will appreciate them and is already a Klipsch-head.- Woody Posted from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. All ready for you guys to come over and give them a demo. They are sounding extra suh-weeeeeet! - Woody
  4. Thanks guys. They are cool speakers. I'd like to keep them around... but I've got my eyes on something else (non-audio) and I think these need to be a sacrificial lamb. We'll see. - Woody
  5. Yeah... I hope that doesn't piss anyone off. It's a loose quote from a member here. Basically the 2-way blends better and faster. They are great. - Woody
  6. SOLD SOLD SOLD! I've decided to sell off my one-of-a-kinda customized Klipsch KPT-904's. Instead of spelling it all out here, I'll point you to the article Klipsch did on them on their blog last fall. It's more colorful than me writing here. http://www.klipsch.com/blog/klipsch-kpt-904-speakers-frankenstein-edition/ The long and short of it is: • Crites custom networks • Custom Paint • Custom Grills • Great for SET and low watt tubes • Sounds awesome with SS too • Will better pretty much anything in the heritage line Hit me up with questions. No shipping. Pickup in Wichita, Kansas 67213 only. Asking $2600 obro. Cash. PP. Visa/MC/DISC/AMEX.Gold.
  7. Selling my wonderful Wells Audio Majestic integrated amp. I've decided to stick with my separates which cost more than double what this great amp does... It was a tough decision though. Retail is $3500 Asking $2700. Buyer pays shipping and PP fees. You'd have to spend a lot more to get an integrated amp that sounds better than this Majestic. It's only been out since the end of last year and just made it's big debut at AXPONA with Salk Speakers. The Wells Audio Majestic has all the grunt you need from a SS amp, but with a wonderfully musical and lush sound. I'd love to keep it, but I just can't justify it if it's not in my dedicated room and so it's up for grabs here. The amp was purchased from an Authorized Wells Audio dealer who had it in their showroom for a few months and then sent back to Jeff Wells and his crew for a checkup and to make sure it was 100% as intended, and then it was shipped directly to me. I am the first owner. The amp is in excellent condition. Includes remote. Please let me know if you have any questions. This amp deserves to be the centerpiece of someones main system. I'm very conservatively rating this an 8/10... but I'm sure they new owner will be happy. Specs and more info at WellsAudio.com: "Our new integrated amplifier, the Majestic, makes no compromises. Our objective at Wells Audio is to build the very best sounding audio equipment in the world, despite cost or design limitations. The Majestic may be the best example of that philosophy to date. At a robust 150 watts into 8 ohms and vanishingly low distortion and noise levels, the Majestic embodies the full, quiet, detailed, sweet and rich sound that is the hallmark of our success. We believe that the Majestic is not only the best performing integrated amplifier at or near its price point on the market, but that it competes with some of the best and expensive equipment in the world. The Majestic features 5 inputs (one pair XLR), a beautiful volumeter, and a remote control for muting or adjusting your volume. It's well-equipped, but is designed more like a Bowie knife than a Swiss army knife--sleek and functional. The Majestic is that rare integrated amplifier that can take its place at the heart of a truly high-end audio system, but do it without giving up the necessary power and performance that is the case with most integrated amps. Audition yours today. We think that the only things you'll find missing are the extra boxes, cables and complexity." “But with the Majestic, it transcends the bounds of audiophile technical description of sound. It has the ability to draw you into the music easily and consistently and make you forget about words. And when was the last time that was a bad thing?” — Francisco Duran, Positive Feedback, April 2016 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. If you find one I still have a SWEET single Amperex PQ USA 7308 that would sound awesome in it. - Woody
  9. Bump. Lowered to $1200 shipped. - Woody Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. Yeah. I loved how they looked... And now I love how it sounds. I just have too much stuff around and this deserves better than streaming internet radio on my desktop. It works well with speakers like Klipsch's cause of its astonishingly low noise floor and smooth sound. It's great with my Klipsch's. - Woody Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. ***SOLD SOLD SOLD*** I've decided to sell my beloved Red Wine Audio Signature 16 LFP-V Edition integrated. It's currently serving desktop duty and it's just sad cause it's being so underutilized. Excellent condition. One tiny fine scratch about 2/3rds of the way back on the left side top of the wood, probably cause by me being clumsy while putting the top cover back on. Hard to capture and would be invisible with a little Howard's. Read up on these if you haven't. But here's the highlights: • 16wpc into 8ohms, 32wpc into 4ohms. • Battery Powered with smart charging circuit. Dead silent, event on my 104db/1w/1m horns. NO NOISE. • 12ax7 or 6922 series tube buffer (switchable.) Includes the stock JJ 6922, but I have some really nice tubes which I will negotiate with the buyer. Currently running a 7308 Amperex which is amazing. • 100% isolated from mains power. No need for fancy power cords. • 3 Line Level inputs. • RCA outs for a sub or to use as a preamp. Can use for biamping as well. • Switch to mute the speaker outs if you want to use it as an amazing preamp via the RCA outs. • All aluminum remote control for volume. • Cherry wood panels. • Includes all the original box and packing and manuals etc... • New price was $1999. More info here. http://redwineaudio.com/components/signature-16 SOLD SOLD SOLD I have a selection of Amperex PQ and Amperex Gold Pin 7308, RCAs as well as Telefunken ECC88's which can be discussed with the buyer. I've rolled a few through and while the stock JJ is quite good. The NOS Amperex's were my favorite of the ones I rolled through. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. Did you ever sell the Onkens? - Woody Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Bump. $1250 Shipped. PP Gift preferred or buyer to pay fees Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. I like audiogon. There are good deals there quite often. I just got a used ifi iNano dac and ipurifier for $135. That's good. I've sold a couple things there. Never had a problem either way. It's way better than eBay. - Woody Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. He is a very talented guy. I'm tempted to keep these and just build some little full-rangers to use with them... only problem is it seems like overkill when the only place I really have to use a system like that is in a bedroom. So I think I'm better off passing these along to someone who can REALLY enjoy them. - Woody
  16. I'm actually the 2nd owner. I bought them from Nate after following the build-thread and falling in love with them. I wish I could keep them... just don't need them anymore. - Woody
  17. Sold sold sold. Selling my MAC1900 Receiver. Fully recapped, and replaced a bad balance pot to correct a channel imbalance. A new pot from MAC was used. It looks great and sounds great. There are a few small imperfections on the face etc... But a very nice specimen still. I'd rate it a 7.5/10 to be very very conservative. You can see a tiny mark just above the MAC on the dial and there is some small marks on the lower left of the chrome trim. This is a very early MAC1900, serial number 060. I have all the original paperwork, purchased from the original owner. I also have a NEW shipping carton from McIntosh. This is an awesome double box system that ensures a safe delivery. The walnut case will be shipped separately. I just invested a good bit of money purchasing the carton, wood case (original, not repro,) the shipping both ways on the service, and the service itself. $800 Shipped in the lower 48.
  18. Sold sold sold These are amazing amps. I'm re-posting the info that the builder posted when I bought them... he tells it way better than I do. What I can tell you is that these amps are AMAZING. I ran them with my Klipsch KPT-904's and they just make music, beautifully... plain and simple. These make about 5 beautiful watts per channel. PICS BELOW The bases are solid maple with bubinga splines on the corners for a nice detail.. I'm not a pro woodworker... but they are pretty nice. I rabbited out the top to recess the top-plates as well as the bottom and added a thin piece of ply to cover the electronics. I also added some small aluminum feet with rubber inserts to make them easier to pickup. There are a couple small flaws in the wood if you wanna really bust my chops, but not bad. I finished them using Osmo Poly-X oil. The only reason I'm selling them is cause I've simplified this system and gone to an integrated amp instead. It's not a step up at all, but it works for my current situation. I wish I could keep these, but I just have too much gear around and I need to let them go to a new home where they will be used and enjoyed. $1250 Shipped. PP Gift preferred or buyer to pay fees ----------- Here's what the builder had to say about them: Redboy EL84 amps Build Pics Here >> http://s176.photobucket.com/user/whobody/library/KeggerAmps?sort=3&page=1 Build Thread Here >> http://audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/finished-kegger-designed-se-el84-monoblocks.300554/ These little amplifiers have been a mainstay of my system for over four years now, but it’s time for someone else to enjoy them. These little amplifiers have been a mainstay of my system for over four years now, but it’s time for someone else to enjoy them. What are they? Why, they’re SEP Ultralinear EL84 monoblocks, of course! The circuit design is Kegger’s work, but the build is all mine. First, a little history to bore you… I’ve got a soft spot for the humble EL84. My first exposure to the single-ended tube sound was a cruddy little stereo EL84 console amp that I picked up for $10. It was a budget brand, no-frills, cheaptastic uglybox that I recapped on a whim. Good soldering practice, I figured… When I fired it up for the first time, I was absolutely floored by the sound! It was a game changer, and it wasn’t long after that I built my first amp, an SE 2A3 stereo amp. The 2A3 amp was very nice but I loved that little EL84 amp. I built clones of it, and I tinkered with parts selection. It sounded great and it got me to wondering: what would a “proper” SE EL84 amp sound like? While the 2A3 is a darling of the SET world and often gets built into modern kilobuck audiophile amplifiers, the EL84 has a reputation as just a "good" tube. It’s better known for its use in grungy guitar amplifiers, consoles and push-pull tube receivers from the vintage HiFi era. Many people's assessment of it is based on their experience listening to an old console amp, with cheaply wound output transformers smaller than the average deck of cards. Most people haven't heard the EL84 treated properly, so that was one of my design goals: I wanted to see if this little tube could play with the big boys if it were supported by a robust power supply, quality output transformers and audiophile-approved components. These amps are the result. The power supply is really overbuilt (the 125mA Edcors barely get warm). It’s a tube rectified, dual choke design without any electrolytic capacitors. It’s not a true choke input supply but it is close – the first capacitor after the EZ81 rectifier is a lower value film cap used more to “tune” the voltages than for any filtering. There follow two 8H chokes and two 50uf ASC oil-filled polypropylene film capacitors in LCLC configuration to round out the B+ supply. A third ASC capacitor (40uf) supplies the input tube. Output transformers can make or break a single-ended amp. These are from James Audio: they’re a high quality potted iron known in DIY circles for very good performance. I used my favorite Kiwame resistors and the coupling caps are Mundorf silvers. Good stuff all ‘round. The amps will come equipped with a nice selection of vintage glass. Tube complement is EL84 power tube, a 6AU6 driver, and an EZ81/6CA4 rectifier. How do they sound? For reference, I’ll compare to the 2A3 amp I had. They've got distinctive tonal traits, but the two tubes are more similar than they are different. The EL84 excels at high end detail and is very sweet in the midrange. It has good tonal balance across the audio spectrum. The 2A3 is excellent in these areas too, and might have a slight edge over the EL84 in its ability to throw a larger soundstage... maybe. If I were pressed to choose between the two, I would probably pick the 2A3 but it would be a tough choice to make. I’ve paired these with some very nice speakers over the years: they have driven Edgarhorns and Tannoy Golds, SABA Resos and most recently my Feastrex field coils. They spent a time driving Altecs 604s, and they’ve traveled to a couple of audio meets where they played nicely with Klipsch and some Altec/JBL homebrew horn contraptions. PICS:
  19. I don't know if you're being facetious or not. But thanks. They are in a collection of sorts... But mostly just a guy with a lot of gear. He came to look at a turntable I was selling today, and had to have the Heresy's too. Even though he already has a birch pair... And doesn't particularly care for them. Haha. He was just enamored. They sold themselves pretty much. - Woody Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
