  1. Lars, Thanks. A couple of those pics are very cool.
  2. Ahhh, thanks. Is that steel piece between the horn and driver from Crites? What driver are you using?
  3. Currently gaff taped to a plywood stand... girlfriend is looking for something a little 'prettier'. I'll be keeping them.
  4. Hello, I am looking for the Klipsch mounting bracket. The adjustable frame that holds the horn and the driver. Thanks!

  6. Thanks for the offer. The repair is holding up so far...
  7. *UPDATE I was about to purchase a replacement. But decided to take the driver apart first. Took it all apart, cleaned it up and re-centred the diaphragm. The noise has vanished. ...for now. I will monitor and let you know if anything happens. Once I realized warranty was not an option and replacement parts were going to be expensive at best, I figured no harm in taking it upon myself to check out...
  8. I swapped out all components from the amp back and then switched XOs. The noise is intermittent and random it seems...
  9. Thanks Bob, I figured that just wasn't an option after over a year.
  10. Hello, Been a while for me here. I have a Faital HF200 16ohm that is making some cracking, fuzzing, buzzing ...sounds. I've isolated everything to the driver. Any recommendations for troubleshooting? The drivers are less than a year old I doubt I blew/broke it. New diaphragm? Upgrade Diaphragm options, sources, supply? Bob Crites does not offer replacement parts or service for this. Thanks for any replies.
  11. Hello, I have a friend's friend looking to move these monsters. Not sure if I want to take them... Anyone have a good project for 18" bass cones. Decent sensitivity: could make a fun Cornscala upgrade. I'm seeing recommendations online for LARGE enclosures though... 10 Cubic Feet... EVX-180B - Electro-Voice
  12. Thanks, I did my best to reiterate that I am simply changing around items that people much smarter than I designed. I also tried to establish that Klipsch is fantastic for allowing information to flow freely on these forums, and in return, we try not to dabble in their IP, too much.
  13. I did a short post for the Klipsch blog. Take a look... http://www.klipsch.com/blog/steve-bedard-diy-klipsch-k-402-speaker/
  14. My personal preference is towards 2 way designs. The 402 is great. The 510 is a very reasonable compromise if needed. ...I'm currently looking for a bigger apartment. That's my next upgrade. The system will stay the same until then.
  15. http://www.zenwaveaudio.com/surgex/ Give Dave a call. He re-builds Surgex conditioners into great hifi power conditioners. Excellent value.
  16. I used double 1/2" BB ply and braces. They feel rock solid compared to the stock LaS. I highly recommend the braces. I hate working with MDF too. That stuff is poison.
  17. I'm using a K-402 with a K-69-A presently. I might switch to another compression driver if budget allows: I'm looking at using a TAD TD-4002 or, even more interesting, a bi-amped dual-diaphragm BMS 4592ND (i.e., the full-range version). Those last two types are premium compression drivers that have extremely clean HF performance. Whatever happens, I can recommend the K-69-A (or similar P.Audio BM-D75 Series II driver at about $170US) as solid performers. The B&C DE750 is also a nice driver (about $300US) - which I believe is also available on a K-402 assembly w/stand as an option--it's also been called a "K-69". Note however that I'm not disappointed in the K-69-A at all. In fact, I'm amazed at how well everything sounds relative to when I used the K-69-As in my Jubs. Chris wow, that BMS dual diaphragm looks very interesting.
  18. ^ what he said ^ A sideways move is always a sideways move.
  19. anyone think there may be an issue with the hook up, wiring, or drivers. Cornwalls should not be leaving anyone wanting more bass...?!
  20. Simply add a custom build Lenco turntable... WOW. Bass, dynamics, rhythm.
