IMHO I would look at spending more for speakers that were doing surround duty. Others may have a different opinion. Have you got a quote on the price difference? There was a great sale on them when I picked up mine.

I have been using the Pro-6803-C in my system for Atmos duty for 6 months and have not complaints.
If you look around and talk to the right people, there are some really good deals to be had on the Klipsch Pros.

I wondered it the LaScalas would have the horns over ear height now. Do you notice a difference?

I have the Vizio 40" 5.1 soundbar in the bedroom. I was surprised at the sound. Nothing spectacular, but I picked it up for less than $300. Don't remember exactly what I paid. The biggest issue is the "sub" can be boomy. Just need to spend some time moving it around to get it sounding a little better. I am really happy with dialogue.

If you have access to VUDU. They have all of the Atmos Trailers for free. They are good for a quick demo.

Those Jamo's are very similar to the Klipsch that I am using. (See signature). I have been happy with mine. I wouldn't go overboard putting in speakers with the amount of content that is sent to the speakers. I have heard mine in stereo mode and they sound fine. All that is needed for Atmos IMHO.

The club shoot out scene is some of the best sounding audio I have heard on my system. Great demo disc for Atmos as well.

I have the Klipsch pro models and they work wonderfully. Sound recommendation by MLO.

Looks fantastic. Can't agree with Scrapy more, seems we are always chasing the next sound improvement. I have spent the last couple months just enjoying the system. I really like the times it just makes you smile while you watch a movie.

What is your budget? I found a full set with 4 KS-525 instead of 2 KS-525s, amp and subs that I found used for just under $6k. Sold off the extra KSs and put in 4 ceiling speakers. I love the set for movies. If you look around, you may be able to find another set. Mine was pristine when I picked them up.

Toomnymods - I have a Gen 2 XPA-5. I had a Gen 1 XPA-3. I like the Gen 2 better. I have looked a little at the GEN 3, but not a lot so I can't be much help with the differences. I really like it. The Ultra2s like the power, so it does make a difference. I have been really happy with the three Emotivas that I have owned. Good luck and let us know what you think of you get a Gen 3

How many speakers will your Yamaha drive? My Denon has the same issue. I have a 5.1.4 setup and use a small Emotiva integrated amp to drive two of my Atmos and receiver to drive the other 2 Atmos speakers and the XPA-5 to drive the main speakers. You can augment with a good used amp if you are only looking for the Atmos speakers.

Curious has anyone seen an impact of the Onkyo - Pioneer merger on the 2016 line? That was supposed to be the first full line under the merged company.

Marantz would be fantastic. I really like my Emotiva's. I had an first Gen XPA3 in a previous setup. Naked is a great option. I have two dogs and no copper, so mine are fully clothed.

I like the speakers in the columns. Are you going to paint the grills?
The more I hear my atmos setup the more I like it. Does a great job with regular tracks unmixed. You are really going to like it.
What are you using for a processor? Your signature doesn't list one.

Looks fantastic!!! I tried crown once. Didn't have the nice saw like you have or the patience to figure it out. Was a project for the ex, so wasn't overly motivated...
I really like the lights. Room is going to be fantastic.

If you don't wall mount the TV, you can build a stand and put the speaker under the stand and TV on the stand. I did that with my first reference center. Had a buddy build it and I painted it black.

Love the columns. Stain looks very classy. How are you going to mount the speakers?
How do you like that subfloor? Is it easy to work with? My new home is a slab home and I would be interested in that subfloor when I change out the flooring,

I used a stand like Tasdom in a previous Reference setup. Worked out perfect. had a buddy that was a woodworker and he had it done in a half hour. Took longer to paint.

I haven't heard the RF-7s in a theater. I have the THX Ultra2s and love them for movies. They are ok for music. I never have time to do critical listening, so they work great for me. I don't think you could go wrong with either. I would recommend 3 650s across the front.

I have 4 Pro-6803s for my Atmos speakers. I think they are fine for Atmos duty, I have only listened to them directly for about 5 minutes. Better sounding than I expected.
For what I paid, they are more than I need.
