  1. Not ideal, but you could always use a heavy guage extension cord. I am a very impatient person so I am told For all my inwall speaker wiring, I always did a test on a cheap speaker to make sure nothing was damaged during the drywall installation. That way I could fix any issues before the tape and mud. Found this out the hard and expensive way on one house.
  2. Looks great. It is amazing how much a center can make with movies. My first setup was RF3s and the RC3. The difference was night and day between the RC3 and the THX. Was glad I got my speaker "kids" back in the divorce decree.
  3. Completely understand. You can imagine my relief when it worked. I just test the run with music, didn't have my subs when I ran it. Can't wait to see more of your build. Love the idea of RF7ii all the way around for music!
  4. I love seeing builds like this. Looking fantastic. FYI - When I did my HT in my old house, I used runs of RG-6 and then terminated the subwoofer locations with RCA connectors. I had read a couple of horror stories, but it worked flawless for me. Cheap way to wire several locations and then you just terminate the locations you use. Mark
  5. When I had my JVC projector, and every other display that I have had in recent years, I would follow the owners thread on AVS and normally someone would have their projector/display professionally calibrated. They post the settings and I would use those settings as the starting point and then adjust to personal preferences as Gary does. Has usually gotten rid of the type of anamolies like you are describing above. Good luck!!
  6. Thanks for the post William. Excellent read!
  7. Looks really nice!!! Can you get any pictures behind the wall where the subs are located? I would be interested to see how you did that setup.
  8. My daughter had kidney stones at an early age (16). Her doctor advised light on the caffeine and drink lemonade is thought to help prevent stones.
  9. I would have said something earlier. I thought you knew. Mark
  10. I have a feeling some might be intimidated by the three LaScalas that close to the front row. I would be calling front row every time. Kind of like sitting in the front seat of a roller coaster!!
  11. Scrappy, they tweeted a picture of your Pro Cinema setup behind your screen.
  12. Great work. Would have been fun as Schu mentioned above to keep them looking the same, but refurbished the internals. They would have been real sleepers. Love the old cars that are left with their patina and have all new chassis and drivetrain. Enjoy your great find! What are you going to drive them with?
  13. I haven't done much research on them, above my current pay grade. How are they on power requirements? I would assume they require a little more power than the reference line. I know my Ultra2s require a lot of power to open up. My current AVR doesn't cut it at reference level.
  14. The on here in Omaha, got rid of them and replaced them with Jamos.Haven't been to the one in Omaha in years. Have they improved their electronics area much? Lived in Omaha/Lincoln for years. Bought my first set of Klipsch RF-3s from NFM in Omaha. KC also had a set of RF-7IIs playing. First time I had heard them. Fell in love immediately. And now back to our scheduled program... Scrappy?
  15. Looks fantastic. Did you get them through NFM or elsewhere? Was at NFM in February and they had a full set. Was too busy to actually listen. Can't wait to see the towers and hear your thoughts on a full setup.
  16. I am always interested to read these discussions. I believe the differences are very small between this article and the paper written by PWK. They were both going to the same bottom line. PWK put the emphasis on the "RE" in reproduction each time it was written. My interpretation was that speakers are reproducing sound. Therefore, the ultimate goal would be for a system to remain as true to the intended sound of the source and the artist without coloring the sound in any way. If you have a system which can truly reproduce the music that was recorded you have a baseline that you can then do with what you want. The system is yours, the sound you hear is yours. You can leave it as a true reproduction of the artist intention or change it in a way that pleases you.
  17. This is a topic that is near and dear to my heart. I hate the ratings on amplifier sections of AVRs. I always check to see if S&V has done a review on it and I can see the bench test results. It is amazing what an external amp for LCR speakers will do to free up the load on the amp. I had a Onkyo 3007 running my Ultra2s and added an Emotiva XPA-3 and that really opened up the system. There is no substitute for head room.
  18. I was thinking the same thing, but after reading some of the feedback in this thread: https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/152324-front-height-speakers/ It may be worth a try. If you have the speakers and the receiver, worth a listen. Good luck. If you try it, let me know what you think. Mark
  19. I think you just drew up my family room in my current situation. I have my 525s mounted on the back wall having them firing straight out. It works fine in my application. I have a second set of 525s sitting in the closet. I have just started toying with the idea of using them as front heights if I change out my receiver. Something you may want to consider with your extra set of surrounds.
  20. Here are some in KC. Not yours are they Scrappy? http://kansascity.craigslist.org/ele/4664695911.html Mark
  21. Thanks for the link. I just checked and my receiver does not need this fix. I may have to call. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Thanks for the post!!! Any idea if they will include any Integra products as well? I believe I just lost the network radio on my 20.3.
  23. Too funny. I had my eye on that one as well. Looks like a good AVR! I have a 20.3 now. It is my second Integra. Lost my big Integra and big Onkyo in the divorce. I have never had an issue with Onkyo/Integra. Good ventilation is the key for any gear. Go for it!
