  1. I just called a local repair shop and he told me to change the speakers around on my Marantz receiver. And that is the issue. Now the other speaker has the same distortion so its not the speakers at all...ill be bringing my Marantz in now for some work....
  2. Here is a short video i made. The bass may be too high but you can hear the distortion. It sounds to me it is coming from the mid-horn...is this video helpful at all?
  3. Thank You All, i will try and open her up and see if i can tighten down the components and isolate the issue. I would still like to see if anyone in my area and can meet to help me improve these bad boys because i absolutely love them (even if the wife doesnt)
  4. One of my Chorus IIs has a slight rattle or may be blown. I need some help diagnosing the problem and help opening these babies up to help guide me on what upgrades may be needed. Unfortunately i have no clue what to do on this sort of thing. I am in the San Diego area. I am looking to upgrade but not sure where I should put my money but i know on songs with some bass i hear a quick rattle type sound which makes me think its the front woofer. I bought these Chorus' from a real cool and nice guy on this forum and he told me the tweeters were updated and everything else to his knowledge is stock. Any help is appreciated. i can take a video and post to you tube. Please DM me if you are in the So Cal area and can help a fellow Klipsch fan out. Thanks. EDIT - The problem has been solved, thank you all for your time and help.
  5. ok thanks. i will read up on this monster z wiring as i have no clue what that is or how its an improvement from a series I. Thanks for the info.

  7. SOLD, thanks Wardsweb, you have a very nice receiver coming to you.
  8. I am no audiophile. My dad gave me a turntable a few years back and some of his vinyl and i had a few vinyl from years before when i collected and then forgot about... so the new turntable had me searching for a receiver. I found the first one i saw at a pawnshop for $40, a Sansui 5000x it was great for a year or so then one of the channels started to go. I started looking around and then read a review for Outlaw and saw one from here. Since i like to deal with my peers and not ebay i decided to buy off here due to the reviews. Rockhound even gave me a personal phone call explaining the system etc. But in the back of my mind the Marantz always caught my eye. (You may be right, the functionality may be a lot better on this Outlaw). THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS RECEIVER, NOTHING. but sometimes, irrational or not, you just desire something else and for me it is the classic 70s Marantz, maybe i am ludiocrous but a want is a want. i hope this clears things up. nothing is wrong with the receiver and maybe this Outlaw is better than the Marantz 2270 i just got...i really havent had the time to dive into the Marantz yet but i do know i cannot keep both....
  9. I bought this receiver from Rockhound recently. The receiver works great, however I came upon a Classic Marantz receiver and I plan to use it as my main. The receiver is in fantastic condition and works great, comes with remote and manuals. Below is the original thread (with picture) where I bought the unit from Rockhound. I have a pair of Chorus IIs what are you selling that could power these. Also i have 2 kids under 7 years of age. anything you can tell me about kids and tube amps other than keep them the hell away? do they get extremely hot and how often does one replace the tubes? thanks. PM me if you'd like.
