  1. I believe @Schu added tweeters to his UJ I assume for this reason
  2. They made a ki-262 and the current model is the ki-262-II: https://assets.klipsch.com/product-specsheets/KI-262-SMA-II-Data-Sheet-v04.pdf
  3. I believe the Cornwall II was discontinued in 1990 IIRC As stated by others in this thread the forte was released a couple years earlier than the original Chorus but in 1989 Klipsch released the Quartet, forte II and the Chorus II all together.
  4. I have a pair of 301-II's at my MT home that I fully restored a few years ago and they are one of my favorite all time speakers. I had thought about maybe replacing them with these new 362's but after listening to them again while I was there I was reminded of just how good they sound and while I was unable to do a direct comparison I no longer felt the need to replace them either. I would list the changes but don't want to get this thread shut down.
  5. I've had this style cabinet before and was able to compare them head to head with the Chorus 1 and they were very close. Chorus 1 rated down to 45hz and 362-II 54hz. Actual MSRP on new 362-II's is less than $1k under the new Cornwalls at $5800 they are just available at great discount.
  6. I've been living with the 362-II's for a little while now and they sound great. Someone said "they look like the CH-1 and 2 had a baby," I'd say they sound like it too. Now the reason I say these are basically Chorus III's is because if you take a close look at the parts list the tweeter and mid drivers are the same as in the Cornwall III and the mid horn is the same as the forte III. The woofer is the newer, updated k-48st very similar to the older Chorus models. Biggest difference between these and home models is the cabinet style and higher crossover points. These just maybe one of the best kept secrets in the Pro Klipsch line up selling at discount for quite a bit less than half the price of the new Cornwalls.
  7. I hear ya even the 10 is 24 inches deep- crazy. I also loved the RSW-15 best sub I've ever owned curious about these new ones though
  8. Did you end up getting a 1600? There's a couple scratch dent models on eBay right now for 800 shipped that's getting pretty damn ridiculous on pricing
  9. The RC-7 is the matching center speaker and a good one at that congrats on the new Klipsches!
  10. Out of the 3 listed I'd go for the rp-160m
  11. Sorry I've been on vacation here at my MT home won't return to WA until Monday night and I didn't take any pictures of the grill foam (actually thought about it) while I had the speaker apart. I have a pair of kp-301-ii's here and they do not have any foam behind the metal grill either.
  12. Only letting me upload one at a time I guess
  13. Having trouble loading pics will keep trying here
  14. I've got my brothers old stock KLF-30's I was planning a restore but just have too many speakers and projects in the works.
  15. Any updates? I just got a crazy good deal on some 362-II's and they aren't too shabby. I was curious I removed the grill cover on one of the 362's and noticed a fairly thick maybe 3/8's? foam glued to the inside of the grill cover does the 396 grill cover have the same foam? Thanks!
  16. I have solid state amps as well, still have a PA5 actually but where the disconnect for me is believing the lower the distortion of an amplifier the "better" it sounds I call BS on that. For one thing I don't think our ears can distinguish between .1 and .01 let alone .001 and .0001 distortion numbers at some point it becomes irrelevant. Just like speakers with a frequency response up to 35khz I'm not playing music for my dog if it's way beyond my hearing threshold I find it hard to believe that it really "adds" anything to the music or becomes "more" neutral.
  17. Have you tried setting them on the floor and tilting them back? It usually doesn't take much tilt to get the horns aimed where you want them.
  18. Only one way to find out for sure pick up some Chorus II's and try them out. I see no need to move the TV, worst case scenario the center speaker stand and sub move to the right a couple inches so the center wouldn't be "centered" on the stand but could still be centered under the TV. They're both great speakers room acoustics and equipment matching will play a big role on which you prefer. For me I've always preferred the Chorus models higher sensitivity and more forward midrange bass isn't as deep but seems a bit more accurate. Again only way to know for sure is try them out.
  19. 😅 🤣 😂 If only it were so easy...
  20. Simply speakers has them in stock again: https://www.simplyspeakers.com/klipsch-replacement-speaker-diaphragm-d-k53k.html
  21. I would get a hold of Klipsch parts as Randy has suggested and replace both with the ST woofers
