Good Monday morning to all my CC&C peeps. Yeah been awhile.... I do check in but The BOSS and I have had our hands full with......... STUFF.... We all have our stuff to deal with but just got a good bit of it now. The BOSS's mom past a few weeks ago.... Some of you guys know of what's been going on for the past few years. Not hear to bring anybody down..... We are doing ok.... The BOSS is doing what needs to be done and I am there for her. Anyway, just checking in.... We had a high of 64 yesterday, and the windchill currently is -7 Sure......that's normal Yea kinda the same here...... working in a t-shirt yesterday. even worked on a car on the parking lot was mid 60's. But today is a different story..... woke up to snow on the ground and temp in the high 20's and temps dropping, got some windy conditions also. MKP :-)

Fuel efficient..... Back in 1986 the Honda CRX HF was rated @ 49 mpg. One of my mechanic buds had one and he was 52 mpg. Hollow camshaft, roller rocker valve train, aluminum brake drums and you could pick up a wheel with your pinky...... and it was carburator. I remember you could take 3rd gear up to 80mph+ Idled like crapp lol lol MKP :-)

Yea restoration, just bringing back to stock. I've had this car 25+ years.... never drove it. got it with some slight front end damage for $600. 85K original miles 99% rust free. I have most of the parts to put it back together. All new Honda front fenders (plastic fenders on those cars) , bumper cover and most of the stuff you just can't get from Honda any longer. just got all the machine work done. I even had new Honda piston kits that I got over 20 years ago. The car has been apart too long.... it sat at my garage at my house for years and took it to my shop a few years back to get on it. Last year I really started to work on it. My plan is to have it running this year. Ya got a 80 Prelude... Ol' CVCC...... that was good stuff back in the day. I haven't worked on one of those in........... I have no clue lol lol. About a year or so ago I did have a guy bring me a old 79 Honda Accord to the shop for me to go through the carb. Man that brought back some memories. Was a really nice old car, kinda a barn find. If I can be of any help send me a PM, (not that I have racks of vintage Prelude parts lol lol) I've been working on Honda's since 1986. My wife and I own a Honda shop. I have a link in my profile. Got to the shop and found a busted water pipe on the single bay where my project 87 CRX is and parts Dept. Was not a good day..... Did a oil change after we cleaned everything up and went home. At least is wasn't freezing out...... a mild 42 as the bay door is wide open This too shall pass...... MKP :-)

That's awesome Gary.... My dad will be 78 in Jan and he's a little "spark plug" He looks no where close to his age. He works out a minimum an hour a day!! and works out hard! Up until a couple years back he was training self defense with me. He stopped training cuz of his arthritis in his wrists. It hurt too much to hit the heavy bags and pads........ and he didn't stop motorcycle racing (road racing) till his later 60's. He stopped racing cuz my mom would freak out when he went. Even though he raced in a vintage class at those speeds if ya come off you ya might not ever be right again!! Quick story..... At the end of this year we had a Halloween party at the house. Had a big disk fire in the back yard. We had our grandkidas there and a bunch of other kids...... all kinds of people (I still gotta put some pics up for you guys) So a bunch of us are around the fire just BSing..... my dad was hanging out with us there...... so there was young lady there, she was a friend of my eldest daughter and we knew this young lady from the pre-school that we took our granddaughter to years back. Well during my talking with my dad she hears me say "dad" She interrupts our conversation and says...... Hold up Mark...... this is your dad? I said yea. NO WAY she says..... again I'm like yea that's my dad.... she turns to him and says you look incredible!! She kept looking at him shaking her head in disbelief...... again she says YOUR MARKS DAD???? My dad's like yup he's my son...... again she's saying no way no way. A few other people chimed in and said "yea that's Marks dad" So a few minutes go buy and I can tell she still can't believe that it's my dad..... and by this time we were laughing and my dad has this smile on his face...... a few more minutes goes by and she walks up to my dad and says " I'm sorry but I have got to ask........ how old are you?" My dad answers with.... I'll be 78 in January..... again she is in disbelief..... and all I can say is I hope I got a lot of those genes MKP :-)

Thanks Carl, No it's not easy..... but it's out of my control.... all I can do is be there for Dawn and do what needs to be done! Dawn is one tough woman!! But under that tough shell she's mush. The other day Dawn was talking to one of her dads closest friends.... keeping her posted on things. Well she told Dawn how much Dad loved and admired me, she went on and on... it really brought tears to my eyes. Over years of owning the shop Dawn's dad would pull me aside every so often and ask me "how ya doing for money?? do ya need any?" I would always chuckle and tell him were good Dad thank you. With out the help of Dawn's Mom and Dad we would not be were we are today..... No shop and No house that we live in. I am for ever grateful. MKP :-)

Yessss I was thinking about those days last night as was bringing fire wood inside. I lasted about 20 minutes before I couldn't take it any more.... My nine fingers were freezing weather man says might be getting some snow next week???? We have gotten off real light this year so far..... Might be time to pay for it Yup another COLD one for sure........ was getting pics all day yesterday from our eldest daughter, she's down in Florida at Disney with our two grandkids. Pics of them in shorts and tank tops on water rides. Holding the shop down without The BOSS again..... She's at moms till our daughter gets back... She's been a little upset the last several days. All mom really does now is sleep..... very very week. over the last few months she has not been swallowing her food very well. takes forever to eat a Eggo waffle. Even drinking has become an issue. We don't think she will make it another year. This Jan will be two years since The BOSS's Dad past...... We pray that she will go in her sleep and not suffer, as the later stages come she will stop swallowing all together. Both of my in laws have/had "do not resuscitate" and no "feeding tube" orders. OK..... time do do some work and make some $$$$$ so I can pay some bills A good day to all... MKP :-)

Ahhhhhh you have no right to post that lol lol 44* that's a damn heat wave...... In don't think we'll make it to the freezing mark today just checked weather..... a high of 24 today.... feels like 13 with wind chill. ya know when it's that cold here Stoney and Boney don't sleep with us. They sleep right by the fire down stairs until it starts burning down.... then they will come to bed..... usually around 4/5 am. Stoney wants IN the covers and Boney will curl up next to us. Yea it's some kind of cold today..... shop is cold..... office is cold. The office is colder than the shop... I got a big oil fired heater in the bay..... The BOSS is moms again today, so I'm holding the fort down. A good day to all..... MKP :-)

Back in 82-84 I was in a med-e-vac unit stationed at Biggs Army Airfield El Paso. It was a Army airfield but a lot of Air Force was present. A few times while stationed there I had the pleasure of hearing/feeling F-4's taking off. They would take off 2 and 3 at the same time........... and kicking in those afterburners. I remember my old 1st Sargent saying "All we need is F-4's and Huey's to win a war" MKP :-)

Hey Carl how you guys doing for work..... busy? slow? so so? MKP :-)

We haven't been too crazy busy..... but just been doing other crapp, you know how it gets. Kinda haven't been doing any forum thing lately..... Still got tons of leaves in the yard and there never seems to be enough hours in the day to get chitt done. Haven't been able to anything for the past week and The BOSS has been a hawk on me. She didn't let me do anything this past week. Today was my 1st day back to the shop, glad to be out of the house for a whole day. The BOSS is doing ok... Christmas week she'll be at her moms house watching her during the day. We're sending our daughter (and both grandkids) away to Disney to give her a vacation from watching The BOSS's mom. If you remember our eldest daughter has taken car of The BOSS's mom since her dad past almost two years ago. Our daughter has done an incredible job looking after mom. I really don't know what we would have done if she did not want to do this. So for the week she'll be at moms I'll be at the shop. We have a care giver come in for the evenings and she spends the night. That would be Krystal, She does all the bathing and also helps our daughter out during the week for bathing. Krystal brings her Toyota to the shop and I take real good care of her. Also there are a couple sisters that help out some..... and then there's the one you just don't ask to do anything. There's been other crapp with the sisters...... I must say I'm glad I don't have brothers or sisters at times. Shouldn't be too crazy Christmas week, got the week booked up..... gotta few people just leaving there car with me for the week. So hopefully it'll be a smooth week. Later.... MKP :-)

Yea Carl not going back to the Walmart for glasses for sure. Ya know The BOSS has worn glasses all her life and shes gone to the chain type vision places and never had any real issues. I do think the doc at the Walmart I went to last year should have referred me to a specialist. MKP :-)

Hey all, Hope all you guys are good. The BOSS and I are good.... same ol' same ol' stuff. Well I must say I am much better today that I was a week ago. Last Wednesday I had cataract surgery in my left eye and I was FREAKING out too say the least!! Like most I am really freaky about the "eye" thing... Well all went great and I can see so so much better. I was at the point I was unable to drive at night. About a year ago I was complaining about not being able to see real good while driving at night. There were huge halos around all light. At 1st it wasn't that bad but got worse quickly. I went to get my eyes checked at Walmart. They did there thing and I ordered glasses. At the time of examination I was told I had "slight" cataract in my left eye. I'm like....... ok. Well when the glasses came in I was not not real happy.... couldn't see a whole lot better but I dealt with it. But within a few months I knew something was not right. So I went to a "real" eye doctor. Within 90 seconds of his exam he says "oh your way beyond glasses you need surgery" 20/400 in left eye! He stated I had fast growing cataracts. I feel the Walmart doctor should have sent me to a eye surgeon right from the start!! Anyway all is good.... I can see..... and I am thankful. We're getting ready to roll out and see the surgeon so he can release me to go back to work. I need to say this again....... I am thankful..... very thankful Take care my friends... MKP :-)
