  1. Ummm...I've been mentioning Reel-to-reel in almost all of my posts. However, I'd agree...Vinyl is simple to store, but reel-to-reel is a pain.
  2. There are plenty of 62 II's out there: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR10.TRC1.A0.H0.XKlipsch+RC-62&_nkw=Klipsch+RC-62&_sacat=0
  3. http://kansascity.craigslist.org/ele/4684715441.html Guy also seems to be including "groundbreaking" speaker cables...lol lulz
  4. Just saw this, if I had the money - I'd convert one of my rooms into Heritage for this...seems like a good deal.
  5. Well they do have that beats pill box thing that they talk up all the time. I've heard on before at Best Buy, and I really can't tell the difference between that and the Sony Dream Machine alarm clock radios.
  6. I feel I should disclaim my statement: Analog for music all day - every day. Digital for movies - no question.
  7. I disagree that analog is on its way out. I think it's on its way back in. Vinyl and reel-to-reel just sound so much better than anything digital does.
  8. How can it be the ideal match when it is so small? RC62II all the way. And if you are going to mention timbre matching...something tinny cannot match something the size and sound of an F30. If the op has no intentions of updating the rest of his setup, buying the RC-62 II is a bad idea. If he intends to upgrade all of his speakers in the near future it would be a wise investment. Every speaker has a place. It's also worth noting the C-3 was designed to go with the F-3 - it makes sense to keep things uniform if it's your target setup.
  9. I guess I'm more just trying to make sure I'm not getting a sticker on it that says "Made in U.S.A." that's Made in China.
  10. Shipment won't be much of an issue here as if it's a go-deal I'll be driving a couple hours to pick it up. The thing is, gas adds up...so I'm trying to make sure it's worth my while as it stands.
  11. I leave them on. I have three dogs and while they don't exactly mess with them...they're very happy dogs. Happy big dogs...with tails...that can dent a driver so so easily...
  12. Hard to say based off the pictures. However, the drivers appear to be in absolute beautiful shape. The terminals appear to be fairly dusted, so my assumption would be that these haven't been messed with - at least not recently. Honestly, the entire speaker appears to be in good shape, no dents or dings. Is there a serial number structure that is followed on Reference speakers? Would that be something else to check?
  13. A bump for this... I came across a speaker that has what appears to be a genuine label, but there's no signature that it's been inspected or tested. Should this raise any kind of suspicion?
  14. I have to agree with Schwa...and I think most would. Sticking with similar speakers is usually preferred as it compliments all aspects of the soundfield.
  15. Agreed on that point. I mean...they didn't need to wire La Scalla's and Klipschorns with Monster Z wiring and people don't seem to complain about that.
  16. Ah great to hear oldenough. Was hoping to get some feedback from someone who has had both as well. Thanks!
  17. Black Wood seems to be similar to the matte finish. I'm just trying to make sure I'm keeping setups with like-speaker lines. Not wanting to make the mistakes that I used to make of switching up lines and brands.
  18. I'm trying to figure out the differences between the two in the early Klipsch Reference lines. For example, the RB-5 and RB-5 II's both seem to be identical in specs. Same goes for the entire RS/F/C-3 models. Does anyone know if there is an actual difference in sound between the two? Be aware, I'm only talking about the speakers I've listed here...I know that there's a difference in the later I and II's.
  19. I would also say Option 1. I think you'll get more bang for your buck going that route and $150 isn't too bad either.
  20. LOL! I always thought 25 was dependent on swag and by 30 you start on your way down, at least that's what these guys in robes told me. If that's all it takes...then I was cool at 14.
  21. Therefore.....you're saying..........
  22. I don't know if clever is the word I'd use...more like absolutely insane but content.
  23. Does this mean that I'm cool now? All this time, this is all I had to do - join?
  24. I'm hard to please. But seriously...my qualms lie with calling it how I see it. I won't get a chance to formally test these in the foreseeable future due to lack of retailers in my area, so I can only really go off of specs, off of features - basically what Chad has provided us with. I'm just not a raving fan over what I see. Doesn't mean they're bad - just that I'm not really interested in this flavor of kool-aid. I will however have that drink!
  25. I feel kind of dumb...I forgot I could do that: https://web.archive.org/web/20020202054226/http://www.klipsch.com/products/productdetail.asp?id=395&line= $1,000 New
