  1. Whenever someone doesn't post pics of the actual speaker it makes me weary...
  2. Haha, yeah. Makes me think I used to have blinders on. Wish I could get them, but one I'm not in Utah, and two I don't have the case for it. Just me looking at stuff I can't afford again. lol
  3. No affiliation, going for $1000. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Klipsch-Home-Theater-speaker-system-RP-5-RB-5-RC-3-KSW-15-Black-Local-pick-up-/131283955434?pt=Home_Theater_in_a_Box&hash=item1e91222eea
  4. Looks like that guy has quite a bit of Klipsch gear...I sense a Youthman-grade sale is a potential.
  5. WHY does it have to been AFTER I shot my wad on speakers? :'( Wahhhh...
  6. Gotta say, lovin' this thread. Good number of years before I'll be making any contributions though I reckon!
  7. I used to be a "youngish" one. Though my interest in audio was influenced by the fact my dad was in a cover band - I latched onto home audio myself. My mom fueled that appreciation/addiction when she bought me my towers when I was 12. Never looked back since - they remain the best in the house.
  8. May I inquire as to why you'd want to use the surround speakers as mains and the mains as surrounds? Seems like you're just reversing what the setup should normally be.
  9. The RF-3's bass response performs better at higher levels. A sub will do just fine for levels lower and movies, but music playback - the RF-3 shines when the volume level is higher.
  10. too much of it will ruin your credit.
  11. I think the dust cover is dinged on the one driver, but everything else looks nice. Kinda wish I had that thing I don't have...oh what was it called...I used to know...MONEY. That's right. Money...
  12. It would depend on the use. Are you wanting it for Home Theater / AV purposes or just simple 2 channel audio?
  13. Who's joking? This is the most serious conversation that i've had since i tried to figure out why banks charge you money when you bounce a check--pay more of what they know you don't have any of. +1 to this. Also, who thought it was a bright idea that the less money you make, the more you should have to pay in interest? I mean...really...what's up with that?
  14. what posted something about how bigYour speakers were to a bunch of guys on here that have 10 times bigger ones? Lol. Good luck with the sale I said I had a loud amp for sale...though I don't remember the wording. Although, with a slogan about pissing off the neighbors - that's probably to be expected. lol
  15. I love dogs. I'm an avid rescuer and support them being in any room of my home. However, I don't know if I'd advertise my six piece furniture set in my media room with four dogs on them...especially if they're leather and I'm trying to get ten grand from the sale...
  16. The S-2's are not bookshelf speakers - they're surrounds. Synergy bookshelf speakers were "SB", not "S". As for the sale...the receiver is probably about $50 to $70 (on a good day - the HTR models were not as well built as the RX-V's). The speakers...I've seen SS-2's go for $100 on ebay, the SF-2's are probably around $300 (certainly not more - that's the upper end IMO). No center channel? The Sub is probably right around $200 - and likely the one that will return the best for you. Others might have another idea, but I'm thinking you're right around $750 or $800.
  17. I guess it depends if we're talking about Klipsch Group Speakers or not but... I have (as of today) 14 Klipsch Speakers (plus a Promedia setup and a pair of Reference One headphones) 5 Jamo speakers, 4 Polks (2 of them subwoofers), and 2 Yamaha subwoofers.
  18. Where on the unit is the rattle? How long have you noticed it?
  19. Thanks guys, and yeah! I'm just happy I found a pair that fit in the budget...I'll be doing it all over again in October for either B-Set Speakers or Presence Speakers. Either way I'm pretty pumped for that, gotta behave though until then.
