A suggestion for the Klipsch people. How about some scratch and dent Heritage (especially Heresy III and Cornwall III) to selected long established audio dealers for demo inventory on extended loan (and some Heritage only dealers). There's a superb dealer in Chattanooga, TN (in business since 1968, and the owner's a Heresy fanatic). College HiFi. He is reliable, and if there were some Heresies to demo, maybe some listeners in Eastern Tennessee could get turned on to the possibilities of great sound with NO BULL.

Re: Cornwalls being used for monitoring/mixing. Owen Bradley of Decca Country Music and Bradley's Barn fame (Loretta Lynn, Conway Twitty, Patsy Cline, Kitty Wells, Brenda Lee, and more) loved and used Klipsch speakers in his studios and office (Cornwalls and the Forte). Wendy Carlos, the noted synthesizer wizard owns and uses Cornwalls. I agree, like them better than the JBL L300 or the other JBL monitors for critical listening, I even like the Heresy better for same than JBL. The bass is better on the JBL, but the Cornwall and Heresy were better on all else.

PT= Physical Terrorism. Been doing PT since I was a toddler and still at it 53 years later! Get better, good friend. Nursing a seriously aggravated case of heel spur and Achilles Tendinitis of my own. Not fun. And getting to deal with orthotists and new AFO braces. And need to find something which fits, and is lightweight, and stays out of the way! PWK style, no Bull****! High efficiency or not at all! Yes, PT is essential for range of motion and inflammation issues alike.

I am more in line with PWK, I want older Mercedes-Benz 300TD with the vanity plate, Heresy 1! Wagon with room for Heritage and wheelchair hauling when needed.

I hope to be myself committing acts of Heresy once I can figure out how to get one pair of them from Durham, NC to Athens, TN. A little Heresy is good for the Soul, when coupled with McIntosh.

I own a MC 2505-2 of my own. I use a MX 114 with it. So fine, you won't need another. Great value for the money in nice condition. Recommended highly. Would recommend a nice refurbished example from Tom Manley at www.mcintoshaudio.com or from Audio Classics. Tom is a friend of mine, and so is his superb technician, the great Terry DeWick.

It is beautiful, goes well with Heritage in the house, has my favorite cartridge installed, and should sound great. And I think Paul and Valerie would love it if they were still with us.

Agreed there. A lower damped, lower powered pre 1973 SS option would be way better on LaScalas. Or better yet, tubes. Why not go for a Mcintosh option, even old MA 5100 integrateds make Klipsch sing.

Terry DeWick is recommended highly by me. If I can't repair it, or lack needed test equipment, I trust Terry above everyone else near me. He treats all McIntosh like it was going into his own system. He stands behind his work, he's reliable, reasonably priced, and a great friend and fellow traveler. I can not give you no higher recommendation. Terry DeWick is the finest.

Very saddened at this loss. Valerie Klipsch was a classy lady, great pianist, and Paul's wife. She went home to see Paul and keep PWK in line.

And in my days in Smyrna at the Tennessee Rehabilitation Center, I got to hear those Fortes a lot in Mt. Juliet at Bradley's Barn. And I even got the spare pair on loan in my dorm room. Owen was a friend of mine, met him through Harlan Howard. He was a very fine gentleman of the highest respect. All of Nashville loved that gentleman, he loved them back.

The Pickering XV 15/Stanton 680/Stanton 681 family accepts the same stylus options for each other. The 681 line is the Calibrated models like the EEE and A which have individual response curves included in the package. The 681 from 1967 to the end of vinyl was the recording industry and broadcasting reference standard cartridge in the USA.

NAB is the USA standard tape equalization curve. CCIR/DIN is the European curve used for tape recording. Technically speaking the latter is superior with modern tapes and recording technique. Only tape which should be baked is a select few backcoated formulas known for sticky shed syndrome. The tone oscillator is for test tones for level and azimuth to facilitate playback on other machines. Do you have a manual for your machine? If you do not I have a PDF scanned manual I can email you. I own one of these fine machines and know them well from using them at home and in broadcasting work as operator and engineer. And happy to assist you on learning your machine's features. You have a superb tape machine, one of the finest made and a broadcasting standard for many years. And reliable and very well built.

I think a McIntosh MA 5100 or MA 6200 would be a great Klipsch partner and be a unit you'd enjoy for many years to come. $1000-$1300 would buy you a nice example from Tom Manley at www.mcintoshaudio.com and you'd have great resale value. But you'd likely fall in love with it so much, you'd be hard pressed to get rid of it ever.

You, my new friend have chosen the finest beginning to a top Klipsch experience. You scored Heritage line, and the Heresy is a superb loudspeaker. I love Klipsch loudspeakers and this fine forum. You have excellent taste. Do remember, that you will soon not be able to quit buying great music and great gear to go with your Heresies. And you'll be loving music for life, with that great live sound and unfettered Klipsch musicality.

I am so happy to see Klipsch making more speakers here in the USA. And seeing that Hope quality puts a smile on my face every time I fire up the Chorus in the living room. Klipsch build quality and workmanship is second to no one made in Hope. Any less would not live up to PWK and his superb legacy for making only the finest loudspeakers out there.

A major caveat with budget turntables to know with Klipsch. They will efficiently reproduce mechanical rumble and noise. And motor hum. Choose your turntable accordingly.

Yes, the A/V receiver and Blu-Ray need to be replaced with more suitable options. Fortes aren't the problem, they're passing along the sound of less than ideal amp and sources along faithfully.
