  1. Sorry again, I'm very new to this... So I setup the receiver to Stereo ALC because it's the loudest... I know that may sound dumb but the receiver at any other setting is extremely quiet. I mean volume at 50% and I barely hear anything but white noise (fuzzy sounds) and some vocals when listening to music. I know I probably need to add speakers and a sub to acquire the desired sound I want.. But I feel like the 2-channel setup shouldn't be this quiet!
  2. Woah, thanks for such a quick response! So the speakers don't have jumpers? I got them used so maybe they were removed? Is there an alternative, or is what I currently have (updated post with a picture above) sufficient?
  3. So I'm a total noob and need some assistance from the community here... I've got the most basic setup possible, however I still can't figure out how to maximize my speaker's potential! I've recently acquired a set of RB-35 bookshelf speakers and have set them up to my VSX-822 receiver. The receiver is a 5.1 channel, however I only have these two speakers and my dad took back his DOGG floor speakers... Anyways, I currently have them Bi-wired (at least I think so?) to the L and R on the receiver. There are still 3 open ports for a center and 2 surround... The back of the RB-35s have dual binding posts. I'm currently at work but found this picture on Google that is exactly how I have mine setup currently: [see attached] So am I best off with this setup? The single wire essentially comes from the L output of the receiver, and splits to both binding posts on the speaker... Same for the R speaker. Or should I run a separate wire from the L to the bottom or top binding post, then a separate wire from the L surround to the bottom or top binding post? I figured that would be too much power to the speaker and damage my goods... Any help would be greatly appreciated! I can take better pictures when I get home if needed! Thanks guys! BTW, I know I probably need more speakers in my setup... I'm saving up for a Klipsch center, but just graduated college and money is tight right now so speakers are last on my list unfortunately
  4. I am a minimalist... 2 channel setup with my tv... In my small apartment it's honestly all I need. I'm all for the grill-off. I do get concerned about dust and longevity so if I know I'm gonna be gone for a few days or whatever I'll throw the grill back on. I just figured if I listen to them every day, the vibration keeps the dust off. I could be way off on this but why else would they make the RB-35 so beautiful inside if they didn't want us to see it?! Plus they advertise the reference series on their website with no grill... All in all I'm happy, grill on or off. I just think it looks sexy off. And when you've got guests over, they all comment with grill-off. No one really cares with grill-on. But they are also the ones who don't appreciate a good set of speakers Thanks for reading!
  5. hahaha I've gotta try the laser technique you speak of. Never heard of that before! As of now my RB-35s are not being optimized... They sound great but one is hiding behind my couch plugged in and the other one is to the left of my TV, so I know the sound could be better if they were truly left and right of the screen... But for now the setup in my tiny apartment doesn't allow it. And I know stacking them on top of one another is absolutely not an option. So maybe I should built wall mounts for them to hang from the ceiling and point downwards? or perhaps I need a bigger house
  6. Tubes-n-horns: I came here for advice on my RB-35 2 channel setup but I've been mesmerized by your photos for the last 20 minutes... I absolutely al obsessed with those brick arches inside your home. Incredible. I'm currently shopping for a home now, sick of renting and I'm very much a DIY-er so I can't stand not being able to customize my living area the way I want to without referring to my landlord first... Anyways, that is one gorgeous home you have...
  7. I'm new to this community... Here is my first post! I'm a young guy, just graduated college, and I've never really enjoyed the crazy set-ups my friends all have... First off I can't afford to drop 5-10k on a system like some people. But I did invest in a pair of RB-35s and have a two channel setup to my Pioneer vsx822 going to my Samsung HDTV. I Honestly don't need much more than that! I'm still trying to find the perfect way to set this up, but right now I have it bi-wired to the receiver and it sounds good to me... I'll be in and around these threads trying to find some advice on my setup, and perhaps a good Center to invest in down the road. Thanks for reading!
