  1. I think I just might look into a real wood veneer. I was also wondering, do you know how I might tighten up my driver screw holes? They are a bit rounded out and loose from removing the drivers several times to work on crossover mods. There must be some way of doing this.
  2. I've been a bit out of the loup, has there been any news or hints at a new RF-7 II revamp? I am considering buying a whole new RF-7 II system in a few months, and am wondering if I should wait if there could be a new model soon. Thanks in advance!
  3. I was just wondering, is it possible to refinished my Klipsch RF-3 II towers? They are all scuffed up and I would love to make them look new again.
  4. Moving to Texas this month and would be much closer and able to go. Sounds awesome!
  5. $750 is an amazing deal!! I'd buy these in a heartbeat if I had the money, WOW!!
  6. Good idea to go with the RC-64II, the RC-7 is not timbre matched to the RF-7II.
  7. Smokin deal, if this was 2 months from now, I'd be ALL OVER these.
  8. One beautiful sub, good luck with sale!
  9. I'm pretty ignorant about what makes a high quality cap. I've heard that some have a shorter life, and some get resistive with age. Is the difference in caps of the same value a fairly recent thing, due to new cap technology? I vaguely remember PWK writing that he didn't care what caps were made out of -- even whiskey bottles would do -- if they had the right values. If someone buys a second hand speaker that is fairly old, nearly everyone advises that the caps be changed. Is there a predictable, subjective change in sound that replacing caps would make? Would a speaker with new caps sound brighter, or duller, or what? Or, is it unpredictable, and depends on location in the circuit or ______? All excellent questions, looking forward to the answers you get.
  10. Absolutely thee(MY) listening position. My wife and guests don't know any different. Bill Wish I could like this post twice!!
  11. Hmm, I may do this. Coming into some money end of next month.
  12. You may feel differently if you heard one with a DeanG upgrade in it.
  13. Hmmm, definitely worth thinking about doing... Are there any other options that perform close to those that would fit and are regularly available?
  14. I wonder if one of those DH1506's would fit on the horn of any of the reference speakers, any idea if it could or not? I will say, the RF-7 II tweeters are pretty beefy looking.
  15. Hmm, still interested in seeing some internal pics. It's like buying a car without looking at the engine to me. I would really love to see those crossovers and drivers, and even the bracing.
  16. That was my thinking too. I can only imagine they would have greatly improved all of the driver in the 8 years between the two. I just love knowing nerdy tech spec white sheets and improvements.
  17. Can anyone at Klipsch, or someone knowledgeable on the subject, comment on the differences in quality of drivers of these two speakers? I was told by someone on DIYaudio that the RF-3 II drivers could use a lot of improvement, so I'm wondering how much better the drivers from the RF-82 II's are? What would be the main differences? It's my understanding that the RF-82 II's use trickle down Palladium technology, which I'd be very interested in hearing how they use it..
  18. Hmmm, I am interested, but I wonder how I'd remedy the cracks and still be able to mount the driver in a secure but not be too terrible looking way...
  19. I'm no expert either, but adding sound diffusers to my room definitely helped. I have a small room with short angled ceilings as well.
