  1. The Cornwall was made in 1981 and the Scala was made in 1979. Prices depend severely on condition. Cornwalls are between $500-1000. The CBR means Cornwall Birch Raw, which I think is the lowest valued finish, but can be desirable if you like it. The Scalas are also Birch Raw. Scalas tend to be $1000-2500 depending on finish. Some people do amazing things to finish over the birch plywood on speakers.
  2. I'm using kg1.5 bookshelfs for my rears with a klf setup. It won't be a perfect match, but I don't think it will be super noticeable. You could even replace the tweeters with Crites titanium tweeter diaphragms.
  3. Welcome to the forum! Are you still in the CT area?
  4. Yes, we have messaged back and forth.
  5. Nobody wants to part with Jubilees?

  8. Sounds like you are replacing the grill board. Carefully remove the cane fabric and hand wash it in a tub with warm water and a mild detergent. I've done it to cane grills from heresies. I use Woolite detergent. I used a fabric brush as well to clean the fabric, they came out so much better after. Good luck

  13. I've sanded black finish from Klipsch speakers. The speaker looks like it's oak, but may be walnut. I've used a water based black stain mixed with black dye 50/50. I do a couple of coats of that, then after it dries, I put a coat or two of wax. An issue with changing the color could be if the speakers are not consecutive serial numbers, you may have different wood specie veneers under the black finish.

  16. I heard the new jubilees and they are amazing! I am on the lookout for an older pair of jubilees now, but I can't find any in the area.
  17. The Parasound works very well with my khorns, but I have a case of upgrade-itis and you know, the grass is always greener somewhere. Just trying to figure out if a dedicated phono preamp would be better over the built in phono preamp. And then wondering about power solutions.
  18. Thanks Roy! I got really nervous when I saw the Chief quoted my post.
  19. So I recently did A+B comparisons between Crites built Types AA crossovers and stock Type AA crossovers with JEM caps on Belles. The Crites crossover with the sonicaps were significantly brighter compared to the JEM. We then compared stock Type AA crossovers with Dayton Audio capacitors against stock Type AA crossovers with JEM caps on La Scalas. The Daytons were a little duller compared to the JEMs. I'm not trying to influence any brand over another, just saying my experiences. There's nothing wrong with going cheap with the Daytons. In the end, you probably won't be comparing them to other caps like I did.

  23. I would need $105 USD plus shipping cost. I am not making money on this, this is how much I have into the passive radiator. I thought it would be a good idea for me to have a spare.
  24. I think those are original cabinets. They are probably HBR which were heresy raw birch. This have the consumer the opportunity to finish the speaker however they wanted to match the room.
