  1. $50 a barrel would be the sweet spot. Cheap enough for the consumer, and high enough for oil producing nations to support its economy. Saudia Arabia is pumping out too much intentionally, screwing up supply and demand.
  2. It's counter productive for a society to punish a user with incarceration, and a police record that will limit that person possibly even more than the actual addiction. Perhaps, I'm the crazy one, if I were to be crazy... Would I know it? Probably not.
  3. "I have finally got Klipsch"... No, my friend. Klipsch got you. Enjoy. I've the Chorus 2's and look forward in listing to them every day.
  4. This Yaqin SD-32A valve super-hifi HDCD player sounds very well. It's been discontinued, but you can grab one on EBay for around $600.
  5. Who remembers "Superman" by Celi Bee & The Buzzy Bunch (1977)? (Smile)
  6. That white German Shepherd is amazing looking. They're both beautiful. The speaks are not too bad either. (Smile)
  7. The man called my Chorus 2's "monkey coffins." I don't think I like that man. (Smile)
  8. I'm pretty sure they don't play with each others balls.
  9. We know we're getting old when the candles cost more than the cake.
  10. I use a single sub which I have set just enough to represent the bottom octaves. Works out well for me considering my eclectic taste in music. Perhaps yours was set too high, the phase wasn't set properly or it was placed in a corner or too close to the wall. All these possibilities contribute to the subs performance.
  11. Looks like quarter sawn birds eye maple. Absolutely beautiful rack. Congrats!
  12. I think it's a great idea investing in a tube amp. I have a 60 watt per channel Yaqin MC-100b on triode mode using just 30 watts and it does a great job. The Chorus 2's high sensitivity is a perfect match for a low wattage tube amp. Enjoy your gear!
  13. Congratulations on your Chorus 2 purchase. I am very pleased with mine. What amp will you be using?
  14. The highs will be supherb. (Smile)
  15. After everything you wrote about the lengths you go to for good audio and video, this really surprises me. For me to upgrade, it would be very costly, time-consuming, and it I'd have to figure out what to do with all of my DVDs. I have over a hundred DVD movies, several dozen T.V. shows on DVD, and several concert DVDs, all of which are VERY LIKELY available on Blu-ray by now (I basically have over 150 DVDs). My computer monitor is also not good enough for Blu-ray, and I also don't have a Blu-ray drive. Sure, replacing the monitor isn't a requirement, but it certainly makes an appreciable difference! I mean, it's just a Samsung 2253BW (1680 x 1050). It's 7 years old, and even back then, it was just a $300 monitor! The kind of monitor that I would want would cost at least $400, but likely more. You see, I know what I want now, and I don't want to settle for less because then it wouldn't be a noticeable upgrade over this one. Then there's the average cost of a Blu-ray drive. I can't justify spending $50 or more for a simple Blu-ray drive when in 2008, simple DVD drives were about $20. It kind of irritates me that Blu-ray drives aren't $20 yet! Then there's the cost of time and money of finding and buying the Blu-ray versions of every DVD that I own (or, at least the ones that are available on Blu-ray). It would be time-consuming because I most certainly can't replace all of them in one purchase; I'd have to purchase maybe 2-3 Blu-rays per month at the most on my budget. I'd also want to take the time to find the best Blu-rays possible rather than just blindly purchasing them, and I'd want to shop around for the best prices. So, replacing over 150 DVDs at 2-3 per month would take 4-5 years or more. In addition, I'd have to make room for these Blu-rays, so I would have to either learn how to sell things on eBay or on Craig's List or locally in order to get rid of my DVDs, or at least find a new home in my room for all of my DVDs because at present, my entire DVD collection is consuming up the entire space that I have available for DVDs - and I don't have anywhere else to put them. I'd have to make room somewhere. A few of these DVDs are laying down on top of the ones that are standing up, so each Blu-ray would have to replace its DVD counterpart (there's not enough room on top of the DVDs to stand Blu-rays up on top of them). So for me, the entire upgrade would be a very expensive and very daunting task (not to mention again that it would be very time-consuming). Worse than that, I'm betting that by the time I finish the work of replacing my entire collection with Blu-rays (or at least what's available on Blu-ray), the industry will probably have something that's even better than Blu-rays, maybe something where the standard release can finally have 100% lossless audio and video while still being fully loaded with special features. So, until I can afford to replace my collection in just a few months of time rather than 4-5 years or more, I won't ever feel up to going through with it. The thought of spending 4-5 years or more on that task alone overwhelms the crap out of me. So, I have to kind of pretend that Blu-rays don't exist in my world. You most likely thought about this. What if you were to consolidate your collection and sell them as a lot on EBay. You could possibly make enough flow to get you started on the other end.
  16. Sweet God! Those cabs are freaking gorgeous.
  17. It's Bush's fault. No, wait, it's Obama's fault. No, no, it's the crony Capitalist's fault. It's those damn terrorist's fault. No, it's the Nazi's fault. Hell no, it's the one Percenter's fault. Your crazy, It's the minorities fault. Global cooling, umm, warming's fault. It's that guy's fault. Wait, it's the others guy's fault. What, it's my fault? No way, it's your fault. No, it's not, it's our fault. Unfortunately, we have ourselves to blame. Americans have become susceptible to mediocrity. And the world knows it.
  18. Oscarsear, a smashing adage. You hit the nail on the head. Lol "At the end of the game, both the King and the pawn go in the same box."
  19. A modern day cannon. I wonder if its ability to fire can be compromised in any significant way by the electromagnetic burst of a EMP weapon.
  20. Aside from being happy for you, which I am, regardless of not knowing you, I'm also excited about witnessing the unfolding of someone's dream setup come to fruition. It gives this commoner hope. Congratulations!
  21. By RTR I take it you mean reel to reel tape? You lucky dog!!!! Where/how did you come up with that? What sorcery is this? Oh, voodoo. Never mind.
  22. Not contributing by calling people idiots. Focus. I see that the proverbial "you're an idiot because we disagree" card has been flung. Also, the "most scientists agree" rubber stamp has been licked, mailed and delivered. Furthermore, the "I'm uncomfortable with this topic so let's outlaw it" iron fist has been thrusted down. We need some levity. Q: How do Prius owners drive? A: One hand on the wheel, the other patting themselves on the back. Levity might suggest your face is an Ad hominem... Now we can safely declare this thread has reached rock bottom. My face has been attacked. Ha. What's next, Monkey boy, up my nose with a rubber hose? "Now is the winter of YOUR discontent". (Smile) I'm out of here.

  24. Dave, I remember first hearing of Iturbi several years ago as I watched an old classic film from the 40's. I believe it was called "Daring Daughters" or something along those lines. I noticed during the credits that Iturbi was playing himself as a conductor, and that made me curious, so I purchased several of his works. Great pianist. Enjoy your time travel/listening. Joseph
