  1. I would have to agree with you on that, they aren't the only companies out there that pull those dishonest stunts. They are not only dishonest but unethical to which is why all the hometown brick and mortar store's are going under because you can't compete with that crap! Sorry getting a little sidetracked and irritated just thinking about it! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G928A using Tapatalk
  2. Oh ok, I pretty much knew about the warranty stuff as that is pretty much how all electronic manufacturer's do that. As far as the beaten up boxes, well that just makes perfect common sense now that you said it. I have always avoided the open box deals because I just don't trust companies online that say they refurbished the item and 9 times out of 10 you are lucky if they even wipe the dust off! Anyway thanks for backing up what I have always thought and now I know I'm not just being paranoid! Lol Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G928A using Tapatalk
  3. Thank you, I appreciate it very much. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G928A using Tapatalk
  4. I was wondering just why to avoid the open box deals? I am going to upgrade my sub soon and have looked at going with 2 instead of just 1 and thought maybe the open box would be a good way to save a few bucks. Anyway I would appreciate your insight, right now I have 1 R-110SW and it sounds great but after reading a lot of different opinions on subs I get the feeling that I'm missing out on deeper sound that my little 10" sub just can't reproduce. 5. Thanks guy's, that reaffirms everything I have read so far so I'll be adding another soon! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G928A using Tapatalk
  6. I have the R-110SW and it performs flawlessly with my RF -82II'S, R -250C, RS -52II all Reference series. I kind of wish I would have spent the extra $100 to $150 for the R-112SW or R-115SW but 110 is fine until I can afford another. I do have 1 question for you guys. Would it sound okay to add a 112 or 115 to work along side the 110 or would that offset 1 side to much to were it would really stick out like I think it would? 7. I have an onkyo TX NR-838 and it runs at 130 watts. I bought it from Nebraska Furniture Mart in KC and I love it! The NR-757 is the next model down and I was considering it until NFM lowered the price to $849. There isn't to much difference between the two from what little I remember. As far as the B stock or refurbished goes I think that all depends on the manufacturer or what was wrong with it in the first place. I have a refurbished older Harmon Kardon AVR that I've had running perfect for over 13 year's and it still performs flawlessly. The only reason I upgraded was for hdmi and atmos. So that's my experience and I hope it helps somebody. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G928A using Tapatalk
  8. Onkyo has a nice choice in that range, the TX-NR818 on the used market. The current model is the 828, with 135wpc. I have the TX-NR717, the little brother, with 110 WPC. The 727 is the current model. The 818 has the better version of Audyssey, and is highly recommended. I have zero complaints in 2 years with my 717. Like you I was also wanting to use the pre-outs with an additional amp to boost the L/R, but frankly the power is very clean and already drives my 5.1 system to louder than I can take, with plenty of headroom. I hate to correct you but the newest models of the Onkyo is the TX-NR838, TX-NR737, TX-NR-636, & the TX-NR535. I just bought the TX-NR838 which is a 7.2 receiver and I love it. It's awesome and I got it for $849.99 at a local B&M store. Not sure what they are asking on amazon or Crutchfield but I think it's going for $999.99.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  9. I have also talked to a guy named Eric from World Wide Stereo (an online store that I found on Amazon) and I believe he would do whatever it takes to gain our business and would probably match those prices. Don't quote me on that because he never came straight out and said it but he really sounded like he wanted to steal the rest of my business from NFM. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  10. I got all my speakers from Nebraska Furniture Mart in Kansas City, KS and they have 2 other stores. 1 in Omaha, NE and the other is in Des Moines, IA. The website is NFM.com but to get sale prices and to talk them down would be best done in person or phone depending on where you are located. I already bought a sub from them too. It's the new Klipsch R-110SW and I was really impressed with the sound of it. It doesn't sound like the older models but it also wasn't my first choice, which was the svs pb-2000 but my wife threatened to kill me in my sleep if I keep going, especially if I go anymore over the budget! Lol Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  11. Yeah, yeah that's what I meant to say, thanks and I'll just save the extra $100 or possibly another $100 since they are asking $349 and I have talked them down on all of them so far. I got the RS-52 II's for $250 a piece plus tax and the RB-51 II's for $270.60 which is the only reason I was considering stepping up to the RF-62 II's. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  12. Oh and I'm not able to upgrade to the RC-62 II because I'm very limited on space above the tv Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  13. I'm actually at work right now but will be home in an hour and will get it measured. I'm guessing about 300 but that's just off the top of my head Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk
  14. Hey guy's I'm another newbie to the forums and have been following your great advice for a couple months which helped me decide to upgrade my system and was going to go with 42 ll's and decided on 52 ll's. I have been told by a few people to match all my speakers by woofer size but I can buy a pair of RF-62 ll's for $50 more a piece than the RF-52 ll's. So my question to you guys is will they overpower the rest of the 7.1 system in a medium sized room? My system so far: ONKYO TX-NR838 Receiver 2 - KF -26 which is being upgraded 1 - RC-52 II Center 2 - RF -51 II Side Bookshelves 2 - RS-52 II Rear Surround's This is an upgrade from a 10 year old HK receiver and 7.1 Infinity primus HT package that I paid $1200 for and thought I spent a ton of money then!
