  1. I have a 45a that I am very happy with on all forms of discs. I don't know where this falls in the Pioneer food chain so I don't know if this actually helps or not .

    Marantz ?

Thanks for the replies. ---------------- On 7/10/2004 10:17:54 PM ZootAllures wrote: This is not exactly the reply you're looking for ---------------- I actually had 2 channel in mind when asking this question, along with home theater. I'm thinking of pairing a Marantz PM 7200 with a pair of RF7s. The 7200 has a class A mode that puts out 25 watts of pure class A power and class A/B mode that is 95 watts. I believe that class A mode with the RF7s would sound incredible. Plus the 7200 can be had for $499 new. I'm also about due for a receiver upgrade for surround and I'm heavily considering Marantz for this as well.
  3. If this was next summer, yes I would. Unfortunately We are selling our house and moving first so all I can do right now is research my next purchases. I hope I run across something like this when it's time to buy .

Are Marantz products a good match with the Reference series?
  5. I have a Sony RM-V3000 that I am real happy with. It controls a lot of components and has plenty of macros. For me it has the perfect combination of touchscreen and hard buttons.

The RF-7 they reviewed was a much older model than the RF-7 now. ---------------- If this is the review I'm thinking of, the reviewer wrote somewhere in the article that he was not a big fan of the horn sound. I remember this only because I was mad that someone obviously biased against horns was doing a Klipsch review for a major rag.
  7. "i would love to have the 200.7, but i don't have the resources to do so" burtlively, While I have a good job working full time for U.P.S., I also have a nice annuity which I'm putting most of in my new house and some with my saved money for a new system for the new house. If not for that I wouldn't be looking throw around so much money for equipment as I have a 6 month old to throw most of my money at . I consider myself lucky to be able to buy this level of equipment.
  8. Thanks for all of the advice. I'm currently in the process of selling my house to buy a bigger one. Space for Heritage speakers should not be a problem but I won't know for sure until I'm in the next house. This is part of the reason I am researching now. I was planning on a SVS PB-2 plus or something diy(Tumult+big amp) for sub duty. This system will be mainly for music but I figured I might as well enjoy some movies on it also. Again thanks for the replies, this helps steer me in the right direction.
  9. I'm in the research and auditioning stage of putting together a new system for hi rez multi channel audio and movies. This system will also be used for 2 ch as well. I have a budget of 12 to 13 thousand for 5 speakers, pre/pro, and amp. For about the same amount I have 2 options I like that I'm thinking over. I'd like to know what you guys think. option 1- B&K ref 50 with B&k 200.7 amp and 5 RF7s option 2- Krell showcase pre/pro and amp with 5 RF5s
  10. I have a pair of KSF8.5. I thought about stuffing them with some polyfill I have leftover. Would this make any improvement? ------------------ Hey Moe
  11. What about Alice in Chains greatest hits on multichannel SACD? Other than that and Metallica on DVDA all I can think of is Stone Temple Pilots Core on DVDA ------------------ Hey Moe
  12. I have KSF8.5 main L/R SCC1 center 4 KSB1.1 side/back surround Does it make any difference sonically if the grilles are on or off? ------------------ Hey Moe
