  1. So 2 speakers with the same specs sound the same? yes, if they are the same brand......as in this case
  2. ATI wouldn't build an amp for someone that's better than what they put their own logo on IMHO. Maybe not, but just as good!
  3. I use Direct TV to my yamaha, not to my oppo.
  4. Cool thanks! I think I am leaning towards the Panasonic 8000
  5. I'd like to have an electric screen also. I've heard good things about the Panasonic
  6. Thinking of taking the plunge on a projector and I have no time to do the hours of Google reviews so I'll ask all my friends here at the forum! Thanks
  7. I'm all set on the Amp side of things. So you are saying as a Pre-amp, the Marantz was noticeably superior in SQ?
  8. I try to like I know what I am doing haha. I have an spl meter but beyond that, it's way over my head.
  9. You lucky guys with the room for projection! Jealous!
  10. Bill, I do see dual subs in the future, however Yamaha's YPAO doesn't EQ my sub at all currently
  11. and the Marantz has a better DAC so I am told.....still chasing the dragon lol
  12. Bill, Nothing really except for the Sub EQ lacking. Thanks for the link, it's a refurb correct?
  13. Not unless you want to sell me yours!
  14. No Atmos here, don't have the room! I can basically get the 7702 for 1k. I need to decide if I should wait another year and get the 8802 instead. It just launched
  15. Good to know. Thanks for helping a Coastie out
  16. Marked improvement as a pre amp or with the addition of the Emo?
  17. yeah, that's what i figured, Brand is something I may be more concerned with. Any other thoughts?
  18. Just wondering if going from my Yamaha 1030 AVR as a pre amp to the Marantz 7702 pre would be worth it sound quality wise? I can get pretty much "at cost" for the Marantz and sell my Yamaha. I'd be going balanced vs the current unbalanced that I have
  19. Magnolia used to sell the RF7ii if I am not mistaken
