  1. Mac Rebennack Full name: Malcom John Rebennack
  2. Willie Nelson Correct.
  3. No answers to the two outstanding trivia questions... Maybe they're too difficult, so I'm gonna throw another one out there: Who wrote Patsy Cline's hit song "Crazy"?
  4. Good try, but nope... his band is the Nite Trippers.
  5. Rikki Lee Jones sang it with Dr. John. I had to look up who sang with Tony Bennett... I'm not telling.
  6. I cheated. Thanks for not giving it away. Anybody???
  7. What is Dr. John's real name? And... no fair using Google, Wikipedia, etc....
  8. I spin vinyl in the RTM thread, as well as play CDs, digital music files, stream Pandora, and even play a cassette tape now and then..
  9. Alphabetical... Groups are filed by the first word in the group name (excluding "The"). Individual artists by last name. Albums with two individuals (e.g. Bobby Bland & B. B. King - Together Again...Live) are stored by the first artist listed. I considered separating by genre, but decided on the simplicity of just alphabetical. I have all of my collection entered in Discogs. If I want to see a list of a particular genre, I can filter the list. Also, this was discussed in another thread recently: A to Z or Birds of a Feather
  10. After getting some time with my SA-9500 I decided to take it back to Paul for the full restoration. I just got it back from him today, and have listened to it for a couple of hours now. I love it! Paul did a good job with it. Thanks @paul79!
  11. I guess I didn't realize the H3's market value was that much more than H2s. The ones I mentioned for $1050 look real nice, but the ad doesn't say whether they are I, II, or III. "Local" for me is Northwest Arkansas. I have a pair of H1 that I got locally for $275 4-5 years ago.
  12. I often see Heresys in the local area Craigslist for $700-$1000. I have no idea if they are getting that much, but it sounds high to me. There is a pair listed for $1050 right now.
  13. Ahhhh, okay. I wasn't aware of any other Opus around here.
  14. Not sure why you think I would be doing that. I've never expressed an interest in Chorus. And, I'm a looooooong way from Milwaukee.
  15. I don't have the best, or most, high end gear. But, what I have makes me smile when I listen to it. That's what matters to me.

  18. I took my SA-9500 to Paul a couple of weeks ago. I wasn't ready to do a complete restore yet, just wanted to fix a significant hum problem. I wanted to spend some time listening to it before investing in a complete restore. I picked it up from Paul on Friday. He fixed the hum problem and a sticky power switch for a VERY reasonable cost. Thanks Paul! I have spent this weekend listening to various music, from various sources (Pandora, FLAC files, cassette tape, and vinyl); I love this amp! For me, the most impressive is the vinyl. The phono section on this amp is awesome. The amp will be going back to Paul for a complete restore soon! I just have to convince the wife it's worth the cost.
  19. As a follow-up; Paul emailed me, and we did a little troubleshooting via email. I am now on his waiting list to get my amp worked on. Thanks!

  21. Have you tried to PM him here? Thanks, PM sent!
  22. Does anyone know if Paul Hovenga is still actively working on audio gear? I have sent an email to the address listed on his website, and called the phone number on his website. No response to the email in over a week, and there was no answer at the phone number. The call went to a voicemail that had not been customized; it just said "you have reached the voicemail box of...." and gave the phone number. I posted an inquiry about this here: https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/164924-looking-for-vintage-gear-technician-recommendations/ but have not gotten any responses (other than a 'welcome' from one forum member). Thanks, Opus Paul was out of town for a few weeks. I just picked up four units from him a couple of weeks ago. Thanks! I'll try to contact him again.
