  1. I use Discogs for my vinyl collection:

    https://www.discogs.com/

Most things are already in the Discogs database, so you just need to enter artist name, album name, or catalog number and pick your version from the list of options.  All the track info, production information, credits, etc. is already entered for most items.  If you have one that isn't in the Discogs database, you can add it.  You can access your library from anywhere you have access to the internet using any web browser.  You can also download your library in .csv format for use on your local computer if you want.  And, Discogs is free.

Some day I may get my CDs entered in Discogs. But, that is less important to me since I have them all ripped to FLAC and the CD information is in Fubar 2000 (what I use for FLAC playback; http://www.foobar2000.org/).

  2. Dave,

That is an incredibly generous offer!  And, it's a nice looking piece of property.  I did some backpacking in the Caney Creek Wilderness Area when I was a teenager.  It is beautiful country, and the Cossatot is a magnificent river.

I probably built those CW's.  FACING THE REAR of the cabinets, follow the rear edge of the side panel to your left up almost to the miter joint, and there should be some stamped-in initials.  Usually one pair side by side and one single initial either above or below the pair.  If there is an "A" in the mix, then I built them.

@HDBRbuilder, Yep, they have an "A" stamped on them.  :emotion-21:

    Sale pending.

    Thanks avguytx!

I got them home with no problems. I'll spend tomorrow getting them placed and then listening to them.  No better thing to do on a rainy Saturday!

No answers to the two outstanding trivia questions... Maybe they're too difficult, so I'm gonna throw another one out there:

Who wrote Patsy Cline's hit song "Crazy"?

    Willie Nelson

    Correct.

What curvy gal from Queens, New York sang "Makin Woopie" with Tony Bennett?

Rikki Lee Jones sang it with Dr. John. I had to look up who sang with Tony Bennett... I'm not telling.

    I cheated.

Thanks for not giving it away.

Not only do we like to see the record spinning around it's also normal to sit and listen to the record from start to finish without the constant - stop, start, change track with the remote control ( you all know what I mean )

    Absolutely!  :emotion-21:

Ahhhhhhhh.  So there's no vinyl at the RTM thread?

I spin vinyl in the RTM thread, as well as play CDs, digital music files, stream Pandora, and even play a cassette tape now and then.. :D

  10. Alphabetical...

Groups are filed by the first word in the group name (excluding "The"). Individual artists by last name. Albums with two individuals (e.g. Bobby Bland & B. B. King - Together Again...Live) are stored by the first artist listed. I considered separating by genre, but decided on the simplicity of just alphabetical.

I have all of my collection entered in Discogs. If I want to see a list of a particular genre, I can filter the list.

Also, this was discussed in another thread recently:

A to Z or Birds of a Feather

Cat's out of the bag Carl! Thanks guys.... Very glad the fix was not too major to get you some experience with the amp.

The Pioneer's do have terrific phono sections, and the SA-9500 is one bad mutha of an amplifier. You think it sounds good now, just wait until you give me carte blanche. These are so worth it.

After getting some time with my SA-9500 I decided to take it back to Paul for the full restoration. I just got it back from him today, and have listened to it for a couple of hours now. I love it! Paul did a good job with it. Thanks @paul79!

Heresy goes for $400 all day long.  H2 is closer to $600.  The H3 is in the $900 range for sure.

Chicago is a bit of a different animal due to a larger supply of used Klipsch, and Opus has a better finger on the pulse of that market.

I guess I didn't realize the H3's market value was that much more than H2s. The ones I mentioned for $1050 look real nice, but the ad doesn't say whether they are I, II, or III. "Local" for me is Northwest Arkansas. I have a pair of H1 that I got locally for $275 4-5 years ago.

I just know that Opus is in his car, speeding toward Milwaukee as we speak......

Not sure why you think I would be doing that. I've never expressed an interest in Chorus. And, I'm a looooooong way from Milwaukee.
