  1. The guy didn't get a single bid. ------------------ Klipschorns and Moondogsc>
  2. I never heard of those, but check these out: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1379631355 ------------------ Klipschorns and Moondogsc>
  3. Well you could certainly make some stands out of veneered plywood, basically a box and finish to match your speakers. For added stability, you could fill them with sand or other material. You could make them simple or fancy. ------------------ Klipschorns and Moondogsc>
  4. I've got two sets of khorn plans. Contact me offline if interested. ------------------ Klipschorns and Moondogsc>
  5. I was under the impression that you do not want to apply signal to a woofer (K33) that is not in a seal enclosure because it could get damaged. ------------------ Klipschorns and Moondogsc>
  6. You might try the grip wrench advertised on TV. www.gripwrench.com ------------------ Klipschorns and Moondogsc>
  7. Khorns of course! And moondogs.... http://home.earthlink.net/~j.dutczak/Boys01.JPG ------------------ Klipschorns and Moondogs
  8. As a matter of fact, I had a full page print out of this very jpeg on my workbench when I was building my kits. I also had pictures of Jazman's amps there to inspire me too. The pictures were worth "a 1,000 words" in addition to the construction manual. ------------------ Klipschorns and Moondogs
  9. Beyond the ability to follow instructions and basic soldering, skills needed are: 1) fairly good eysight - some parts have little tiny numbers/markings on them 2) good manual dexterity/motor skills - you will need to fit the later components in and not damage or melt anything in the process 3) patience - to do a good job and check/recheck your work Ron W. was helpful in answering questions by email. ------------------ Klipschorns and Moondogs
  10. Well I'm coming to the end of the tunnel on this one. Here are a few more pics: http://home.earthlink.net/~j.dutczak/moondog_construction_10.jpg http://home.earthlink.net/~j.dutczak/moondog_construction_12.jpg http://home.earthlink.net/~j.dutczak/moondog_construction_13.jpg Just a few comments. This is a well engineered kit. The instructions were complete and moved straight through the process. Kudos to Ron Welborne. I was hampered by a few missing parts, but nothing major. The kit is supposed to take 8-10 hours to complete. It took me well over 25 hours to get to the point you see in the last pic. Most construction steps were relatively easy to complete and some were astonishingly difficult. More experienced builders may know better techniques and may skip back and forth through the construction steps to simplify things. It will be a day or so before I close these up and apply voltage. I want to double check my work and make sure nothing is touching where it shouldn't be. I'll report back when I fire them up. ------------------ Klipschorns and Moondogs
  11. I've finnaly started construction of my Moondogs. I thought I would post some pictures of my progress. http://home.earthlink.net/~j.dutczak/moondog_construction_01.jpg http://home.earthlink.net/~j.dutczak/moondog_construction_02.jpg http://home.earthlink.net/~j.dutczak/moondog_construction_09.jpg ------------------ Klipschorns and Moondogs
  12. I am in the process of constructing my Moondogs. I decided on the 8 ohm tap. Thanks for your help. ------------------ Klipschorns and Moondogs
  13. What is the input impedance of a khorn using an AA crossover? ------------------ Klipschorns and Moondogs
  14. Sounds to me like you have an open ground. Make sure your power cord has a third prong and that the unit is properly grounded. ------------------ Klipschorns and Moondogs
  15. Nicely done! Thanks for sharing. ------------------ Klipschorns and Moondogs
