  1. I was kind of shocked, not surprised, when Klipsch went from Baltic Birch to MDF. I know it works just fine, but it that crap gets well, you find out real fast that MDF is simply thick paper. Then, to charge the absurd price of $14,000, silly as hell. Simply follows the Greater Fool theory.
  2. I love the looks of the Heresy 1, in unfinished Birch with Cane grills. Right now, I am looking to find a pair for sale, and the only pair out there in great shape, absolutely will not ship. Darn.
  3. To my mind, applying what a person learns, to make a superior product, is what any Craft is all about. I see there is still continuing envy, regarding Greg Roberts taking Hi-end audio by storm. I for one, find his products to be outstanding, as do many of the people who used to dislike Horn loudspeakers. I still assert that PWK would be tickled by what Greg is doing. I am willing to bet, that PWK would have liked to be able to afford to this, and build this type of loudspeaker, using the truly best components available, and be able to make a profit, as Greg is.
  4. Good for you, Marvel. Back in 2010, when I used to hang around here a bunch, you mentioned several times about doing just what you are doing at this moment. I am very interested to see how you like the DJK mod. From the information I have culled off this forum, and the net, it sounds like a slam dunk, never going back. Waiting with baited breath.
  5. DJK......thank you for the additional information. After several years, I am getting around to modifying my Lascala's to the ported version. I found your additional information just at the right time. Thanks again.
  6. The volume of the LaScala doghouse is 58 Liters.
  7. Oh my God. This is the most unrealistic, ignorant audio forum comment I have seen in some time. Good gracious, someone needs a bit of humility........and, a bit of real experience with audio products other than Klipsch.
  8. Why on earth would anyone use a stock Klipsch compression driver when there are so many better drivers out there? I use the BMS 4592nd mid driver, which I understand is relatively expensive, but the sound is light-years advance. Oh yeah, but this is with a Volti Audio 260 Horn. While I admire PWK's bass horns, his frugality shows in the mids and highs. Just sayin'.
  9. I just came across this on Ebay. I was wondering if anyone has seen it. I gather from what is stated by the Seller, that he has improved the KHorn? I am not affiliated in anyway with this product. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Eclipse-K-PAIR-Outperforms-Pauls-K-horns-Must-Hear/250300487417?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131003132420%26meid%3D54b716dfc3b841b785b8289ca829694c%26pid%3D100005%26prg%3D20131003132420%26rk%3D6%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D151536534793&rt=nc
