  1. I am in LaCrosse, WI https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipMvunVSrBt-W28SZFxuZmaw98BiwbnN-KUpcxARRDAXO5x85ka2ZMFp1UiSacqdXg?key=THZXNmR4WHVhLXUta0dFckcxeWFEejg1amoxczlB Here is a link to some photos as well. Phase as in Red to Red (Positive) Black to Black (negative)?
  2. Just purchased my 1st pair of Klipschorn Kind of a barn find - older lady selling for sick ex-husband as he moves into a senior home. Test in an old house with cheap Sony amp and CD player. Not in corners, small room, but wood floor on a basement. They sounded amazing. Loaded them up drove 2.5 hours home hooked them up - they now sound terrible, no low end and muddy everything else. My space is in a finished basement, so concrete floors, with carpet and pad - 14 foot wall, with K-Horns in the corners. Ceiling is just under 8 ft and back of room is open - 28+ feet. Current system was driving a pair for Forte II's, and they sounded great. Working on posting some photos. Thanks for any help or advice in advance. Moit

  4. System List is in signature. Need to get away from the Yam RX-V465 and HK AVR 354 Would like my main system to remain 5 channel, possibly 7 channel some day, CDT-5800 are fixed in the ceiling, so no option to move. 2nd system will remain just 3 channel, room dims and wife not ready for more. Very interested in Emotiva gear, looking to go with seperates, but not stuck here. Would love to hear suggestions on how to get upgraded. Have about an $800.00 to $1,000.00 budget. My older SX-1010 and HK 430 are currently not reliable enough to be part of the equation. They are in the process of being restored, and will be just for fun in 2 channel set-ups. Many Thanks in advance. Moit
  5. I started this post, and I am in a new house as well, experiencing the same. I have replaced my old HK 25II with a HK 345, and I just finished installing a new Yamaha RX-V465. All of my hissing and popping issues appear to be corrected. I still feel I have grounding issues with my new house. Long time HK fan, HATE the HK 345, love the Yamaha. Thanks for the advice on possible cleaning solutions to my old HK, seems like a temporary solution. I will clean it up and get the neighbor kids into Hi-Fi.
  6. Dead on Mike - I guess I was in dead receiver denial. Had that HK 25II since 1992, it had a good run. Moved my HK 354 to my 2nd system, any AVR recomendation for my main system...all listed in signature. Thanks for your help Mike.
  7. Electronic components "popping" when I turn them on. Popping occurs as I switch functons on the receiver. Woffer cones go crazy when I adjust volume.
  8. Any other troubleshooting recommendations before I start the painful process of contacting HK? The right channel is hissing - switched speaker wires in back, definately not my RF7's. Thanks, Moit
  9. Youthman - thanks for the reponse. I have the speaker connections down. I have all HDMI - the quick start guide suggests: Dish to HDMI 2 DVD to HDMI 1 Monnitor Out (HDMI) from the AVR to TV HDMI IN So my TV stays on a single input, and the AVR does all the switching?
  10. Just moved and upgraded from an old HK AVR 25II, to the HK AVR 354. Not sure how to hook all this up, not the audiophile I used to be. All components to the AVR, then TV or what? Here is my current system TV Sony 52Z5100 AVR HK 354 Blue Ray Sony BDP -S360 Dish VIP211K Mains RF7's Center (looking for RC7) Rear CDT 5800-C No sides or SUB I have been a wall-flower on this site for over 9 years, all the advice and comments are just incredible. Thanks in advance for any help. Mike Moit
  11. I did a quick search on the forum for post about portable DVD players and did not find to much. Any reviews or helpful suggestions? I am going on a 5 hour plane ride with wife and two kids. We desperately need a portable DVD player. Looking for best bang for the buck (typical Klipsch mo) hoping to keep it under $275.00. Moit
  12. I don't post to often, but I do Lurk and Learn. I was in on that HK430 flury about 5 months ago. Picked one up on e-bay for cheap, and cleaned it. All based on this forum. Great Speakers. Great Forum.
  13. It looks like I will see these by Friday. I will AB them with the RF-7's and KG4's. I am interested in comparing the 3-way design to the 2-way design. No tubes to drive them with, but a decent HK430. Moit
  14. Sorry to post a thread in the 2-Channel section that may not belong, but I have to share my excitment, and this is where I primarily lurk and learn. Under the "Updating Older Speakers" I noticed these Forte II's for sale, and just sealed the deal. I own KG4's and RF7's. I can't wait to here the Mid Horn in my own home. I may have to invest a little cash and a lot of time into a fixed-up Scott by NOS. Moit
  15. E.T. I know he/she/it came back to life.
  16. I sent this message to a friend in Naperville. He always liked my KG4's, and his Altec L. are cooked. I will let you know if he is interested. Moit
  17. Sorry for the delay in responding, I was out of town. The pictures look nice, I will start convincing the wife. You have Mail. Moit
  18. I am near Baltimore, and might be interested. Do you have any pictures you can post?
  19. I have all the originals and the re-master box set. The box set sounds much better than the originals, but they still could use some improvements. Ran them with KG4's and that was good. Now I run them with RF7's, everything good and bad is revealed now. Buy the set, you will be happy. $120.00 is worth it. Moit
  20. Well - 1 hour left. They are up to $490.00 and my friend was not able to check them out for me. Given all the negatives I think these will not be joining me in Baltimore. The search continues.
  21. WOW! fast response from the seller I attached his photo, I don't like all the plants ETC...., but that comes with the WAF factor, I assume. Here are the serial numbers: 19T685 and 19T687 I don't know how to read these, but I see they are not consecutive. Not a big deal to me, just an obseravation. The seller did extend an invitation to my friend, I am getting that set up now.
  22. Bill H. - I have not been able to see the pictures yet, I am also a techno newbie. I did send the seller a message asking for the serial numbers and an OK to have my friend inspect them. I am not in a huge hurry to get my hand on some cornwalls, but the right deal at the right time, then I'm in. My second set-up (2-channel) is also running the HK-430 twin, I am looking to replace some KG4's with the cornwalls. FYI I will never part with the KG4's they are incedible for the price and size. Cornwalls would just be more amazing I'm sure. Bill thank you for all your help so far. dndphishin - I live near Baltimore, although I call Chicago my second home. I lived in the Chicago land area for 20 plus years. I have an Altec Lansing friend in Naperville that can check these out for me. He has commented recently that my RF7's are best he has heard for the price, wait until he hears the Cornwalls. Once I get the serial numbers I will post them. My job will be taking me to Chicago for 6 weeks in the near future, hopefull these will work out. I have a price in mind, I will wait for a response from the seller.
