  1. I contacted Bosch/Electro Voice hoping they still had archived purchase records. Sadly, no. :-(
  2. Can someone help me locate a dealer or aficionado in the metro Phoenix area who can assist me with this?
  3. Thanks Randy! If someone local could help, that would be wonderful. Also, 1951 is an estimate. The house addition was drawn on blueprint in late '49. I believe the addition was actually built in '51. We didn't buy the house from the Nace's until 1967. So, it could be newer or older.
  4. PrestonTom, i promise i won't sell it without knowing what i am selling. I will learn and tell prospects everything i can. In addition, i would prefer the buyer to see and even test it out before purchase. I just don't know if that will always be logistically possible. But, anyone is welcome to view it, if they can get here. :-)
  5. Wow. First of all, this is great information. Thank you to everyone. I have no selling price in mind other than i want a fair price. Certainly part of that is knowing what it is and what the components are. I grew up with these in my house. We moved in on 1967 and just sold it. I was told it was an 800, but apparently it is not. I'm using this to share this amazing speaker and to learn more about it. Mdeneen asked me to pay a starting price. I stated the 30k as a tongue in cheek because he said I have to start somewhere. I will take the front grill and bottom of this coming week and get back to all of you. Again, thank you!
  6. Still don't know what to sell it for on eBay. I'd hate to have a no reserve, because in any given week, certain buyers may or may not be on there.
  7. Wow! I can make the same $9 regardless of how many cakes i have. Since i only have 1 cake, i better get the full $9. Lol
  8. I have heard that these units sell for $5k-30k depending on the cabinetry on the outside (EV assembled, which this is, is the best) and the speakers inside (we're assuming ours is top of the line for the year built). It was also owned by Harry Nace, which is a plus. Is anything in that range a possibility with you? I know you said price is everything. I want to sell this. But, I certainly don't want to be taken advantage of. So, if you need a starting 'for sale' before negotiation price, let's start with $30k + shipping. We can work down from there. Lol
  9. Seanwalsh, you're funny. Is the third baseman implying I'm getting the guy out (stopping the sale), before he makes a home run? I'm assuming because I didn't respond earlier. It's because I wasn't feeling well and turned in early.
  10. Thanks, everyone, for your comments. Jimjimbo, i will try that and let you know! Mdeneen, yes it is for sale. But, it is hard to sell when I don't know the components that make it valuable, which is why I need to get into the cabinet. When I first posted this, I had no idea that there were several speaker options. I'm assuming it is the best of the best because Harry Nace would not have ordered anything less for his home. But, I wouldn't want to disappoint the buyer. Nor would I want to take less. The best sale is where it is a win win for everyone. Why are you interested in it? To do this right, I should identify your needs/wants, right? ;-)
  11. Hi MDENEEN. I'm not sure. I'm still trying to figure out which speakers and specs are in the cabinet. Do you want to make an offer?
  12. Let's try this again.... Is anyone familiar enough with this EV cabinet to suggest the safest way to open it to get the absolute specs on each speaker?
  13. Is anyone cannula enough with this EV cabinet to suggest the safest way to open it to get the absolute specs on each speaker?
  14. You're adventurous. You're right, this, as well as nearly everything in that house was ahead of its time. Those who don't join you, will surely miss hearing something grand. :-)
  15. Thanks to Jimjimbo, I think we finally may know what's inside... I used my phones light with the lights off to take a peak. This seems to match the portions I could see.
  16. Thanks Jim. My mom was from South Bend. I still have many relatives there. Any idea how to determine what I should ask our seek it for?
  17. Hi Mungkiman. I'm not sure. But, I believe so. That is the day we placed it in storage. In another pic, it is still in the secondary built in enclosure. The floor is 12" terrazzo tiles. I'm 5'2" and it is tale than me. I can get exact measurements over the weekend, if you'd like.
  18. Hi Jimjimbo! My husband is a Hoosier, and an IU alum. Grew up in Whiting. Where in da region are you? While we'd love to deliver it, that might be tough. But, we'd love to show you some beautiful weather that's in contrast to some of your lows.
