  1. No affiliation, just saw them pop up in my daily search. Picture in the ad is terrible or I would repost it here. Seller is within 10 minutes of me so I can probably take a look at them if anyone wants. http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/dak/ele/5774103249.html
  2. I very much wanted to try these out (or some RB75 or RB81) but I'm nowhere near Florida. Ended up having to get some RP-160M for now, but I hope to hear these some day. Best of luck with the sale!
  3. I...I feel compelled to drive down to MO now. Too bad I'm headed up to Manitoba in a couple days (totally the wrong direction). Are those the original stands? I didn't see any mention of them on the auction.
  4. 522, 490, or 465 miles for me depending on the route I take after Des Moines. That's a pretty serious turn-and-burn!
  5. Sorry I missed out on these, just been too busy with settling into a new house and forgot about it. Hopefully they come up for sale again soon, and maybe this time they'll be closer
  6. No kidding! Not sure I could swing these in our current house, the living room is too small. I do like the Chorus you have on eBay too, just wish we were a little closer.
  7. Very interested...just need to figure out if I can find a center to match them. I still have a couple SVS subs kicking around, I plan to leave one up there in the living room even with the KLF10's
  8. I've been reading about these for years, and I've always wanted a pair to see for myself just how good they are. Until now I never had a reason to own them, but after moving from Oregon to Minnesota a couple weeks ago I find myself in a smaller house where my KLF10/KLF-C7 combo is just a bit too large for the living room. I assume the RC-7 would be a proper match for these? I'd be powering them with an Onkyo TX-SR806.
  9. There was a pair of KLF20's (or 30's, couldn't tell from the pics) for sale here recently. Don't think they sold, and the ad has expired. They initially had them up for $200, then raised to $300. I still have an email from the seller, I should check to see if they're available.
  10. I shipped them back this week. I still think a pair of these is in my future, but it will likely be an older set that's been treated well and costs 1/4 the price of new . Hmm, there is a set of HI's with Crites crossovers locally for $450....
  11. Gonna hook it up later this afternoon after I finish up some work. The old one is being picked up today by UPS. The guy at AcousticSoundDesign sent a call tag for it the same day he shipped me a new speaker.
  12. It's here! It's here! Now let's just hope this one didn't get dropped on its head too...
  13. I thought that as well. It looks like it was dropped upside down and the weight of the driver broke the horn. It could have been done while still boxed up so there would be no evidence on the cab. I never would have thought of that (I thought compression drivers were fairly light). I know the other speaker looks good, but I will probably pull the woofer today and inspect the inside of the cab for any damage (and for correct polarity)
  14. Sure you will, just not crazy "deep" bass. I added my RSW-10d just to bring it down to around 25Hz. I crossover at 50Hz so my 75's are handling a good portion of the midbass punch. Bill Would you cross H3's that low? I had them crossed at 80 until my sub amp died, now they are full range until I get the sub sorted out. It means that I'd be officially waffling on using the Heresy 3's that I haven't even finished setting up Both the RB-75's and HIII's are awsome speakers so just keep both pairs if $$$ will allow. Bill I'll have to sell my KLF10's but I think the H3 and RB-75 options are both better choices for my living room, at least in terms of WAF
  15. I messed around with placement and eq in the living room last night, and I think they are starting to sound better. The replacement arrives today, looking forward to lots of listening this weekend.
  16. It means that I'd be officially waffling on using the Heresy 3's that I haven't even finished setting up
  17. Based on the comments here and reviews elsewhere I feel like I should just buy these on principle
  18. I'd love to know too...the grille is in perfect condition, so it must have been off when it was damaged. They were an open box set from AcousticSoundDesign, and the note inside the box from the previous buyer indicated that he "didn't like how they sounded". I can certainly understand why...
  19. Probably under 20. Most of that has been movies and tv shows too. I am still using one of the damaged speakers too, the replacement arrives tomorrow. Here's the damage just for reference:
  20. definitely a bad speaker choice for you - Heresies are best at sound at ear level - they are lifeless , by that , you mean uncolored -yep that is right - they are over 10 hours old - they are broken in , now your ears have to adapt to the speaker-as well , - - the heresy 3 is not a modern sounding speaker - although a good monitor - klf 10 is better in my book - more bass - more definition - punchier - Perhaps I should have gotten the RF82-II's like I had originally planned...
  21. I did not listen to them first...not sure how you can do that when most places sell Klipsch only via mail order. I have listened to Heresy I's before and my impression of those was much better. I am driving them with an Onkyo TX-SR806 (130 wpc). Only driving 2 channels as I don't have a center anymore and my sub amp decided to act up. I may hook them up to my Teac NP-H750 tonight to see if anything changes. As for the KLF's, they did not have any WAF since they block half the windows in the living room. Polarity is correct, but yes that's always a good thing to check. The replacement speaker arrives tomorrow, and I'm sure things will improve. Thanks for all the input everyone.
  22. I'll try them up higher, but I actually hope that they don't sound better that way. One of the main reasons I replaced my KLF10's with these was WAF, and I'd pretty much lose that if I bring them more than a foot off the ground. Good point about the smaller cab, and it's sealed as well. I can't expect the same response from these as I do my other speakers. I guess this means I'll need a second sub .
  23. Why bother worrying about "breaking in" a "badly broken" speaker... It's never going to sound the way it's supposed to. Because I'll still want to break in the new one when it arrives?
