  1. For the sake of my hoped for longevity I have always understated the price of equipment.
  2. I think you are right, took another Google dive, similar themed latticework. We need Postman56 to open them up.
  3. A 1980 Heresy time capsule, I wouldn't even consider selling them, brand new vintage is quite the acquisition.
  4. A similar look, they do have an Altec vibe to them.
  5. Might be a kit? Those grilles sort of remind me of an Altec Valencia.
  6. They would sound similar but better. I believe the crossover frequency has been altered to make them smoother. I have speakers from two different generations of the series, the RB 61 and RB 61 IIs. The IIs are noticeably nicer to my ears.. The six inch driver seems to be the sweet spot for modern Klipsch speakers.
  7. From what I've read the sound is pretty much the same but there are more features such a the voice assistants and such.
  8. NAD tends to be no slouch with their products. Used to have a whole set up back in the 80s I wish I still had.
  9. I'm really looking forward to the reviews. The same company makes Bluesound.
  10. Fantastic video and very informative. As demonstrated you don't require as many watts as you think. Look back to the previous golden age when a high powered amp was 30-50. They rocked our world. On a personal note, the presenter sounded so much like my late father Vinnie (Z'L), the hairs on my arms stood. I called my wife and had her put on the headphones without telling her why; she was stunned and said it sounded just like him. Thanks for posting this.
  11. More than enough and then some. Congrats on a very desirable acquisition.
  12. I would recommend the 600M II with a sub. A crazy amount of bang for the buck. The modern Klipsch 6" are really something. Stereophile gave them a great review and recommends them. You won't be sorry. https://www.stereophile.com/content/klipsch-reference-premiere-rp-600m-loudspeaker
  13. A friend of mine has a Primaluna and it is magnificent. Envy is a sin but hey...
  14. Looking forward to a photo even with the pool table in place. Congrats
  15. That is a pretty sweet unit (disclaimer: I am something of a Marantz fanboy), and still using my trusty old SR5008. Mazel Tov!
  16. This week I saw NAD's announcement of a new affordable streamer they will be releasing March. I have been investigating a few different units the past few months. I have been using my old Apple TV (2nd gen) as a glorified WiFi antenna for streaming from my computer. I think this is the one. Canadian company to boot! Affordable here but really inexpensive for you lads in the states. https://nadelectronics.com/nad-electronics-announces-cs1-network-audio-streamer/
  17. I really like these lamps, they'd look great in any listening room/man cave.
  18. Hard surfaces and rear passive radiators are meant to work together. Be nice to see a photo when you are all set up.
  19. You are most welcome, they are both very good and you won't be disappointed whichever you choose. Let us know how it ends up.
  20. Here is something to give you a rough idea. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=Klipsch+Chorus+vs+Forte&t=newext&atb=v247-1&iax=videos&ia=videos&iai=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DnWHa9EMZbbI
  21. Thanks! I'm not leaving the place tonight! Take care.
  22. My two cents would be Fortes. Nice well rounded speaker that you would find very easy to enjoy.
  23. Dinner turned out great, bother in law enjoyed the turkey. Just about wraps things up for another year. Time to sit back with some cognac and listen to a little Brian Ferry. Man cannot live on holiday music alone. Hope you all had wonderful Christmas dinners and are now sitting back with your loose pants on listening to tunes. Shalom, Thom Jarvis
  24. That is awesome and quite clever, thank you kindly! It's not just David Lee Roth who lights the menorah...
  25. EDIT: Apologies, I misread your initial post, I mistakenly thought you had the 3200 rather than you were considering one. I just read some reviews of your amp. I stand by my initial thoughts, this amp gets really good reviews and seems tank solid. I wouldn't rush replacing it. Class A/B, well built and wired, with more power than you will realistically need. Very important as well are tone controls as well as a phono stage should you decide to get a turntable down the road. Looks like a pretty sweet amp I'd like to hear myself. https://www.stereophile.com/content/yamaha-s3200-integrated-amplifier
