  1. I guess it would depend if there’s a budget. RP450c is very affordable now. Very good Too. They have newer versions of the RP line but more expensive. If budget is not a problem the RC64 iii would be be best but it’s huge and like they said. Try and match to what you have now. Not sure what your future plans are but if your building your system, go with he best you can afford. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I’ve had similar thing happen to me. I also had a hard time pinpointing the issue. With me it was the song “Remedy” by Adele. With her high pitch voice I could hear what sounded like a bad tweeter. But I also realized that it only did it with certain gear (DACs ). It did it with my wireless hifi streamer. But it sounded perfectly fine with my red dragonfly usb dac. But only with certain high pitch songs. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. You should be fine. As long as you don’t turn them up all the way. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. If your going to listen to music a lot. The RF7 iii would be the way to go. As for home theater an external amp will make your speakers more dynamic. I went from The 280’s to RF7 ii’s and they get louder really easy. With same or less volume. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I’ve had a lot of issues with all my speakers and sub lately. I think it was due to a usb dac that was loose and it cut off and on and made really high pitch noise. It could be a woofer coil too. So far I think it’s the tweeters only. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Yea,I think my drivers are bad. I tried some music on another pair of speakers and it didn’t distort. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. When I play music that uses piano, it seems the tweeters distortion Or get fuzzy. It plays other music good. For a few exceptions like Adele’s Remedy song. When her vocals go high the Tweeter also gets fuzzy. Could it be I have bad drivers. Both right and left do it. Left seems to be more obvious. Some cables might of moved and caused them to go bad, I think. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. i use an adcom gtp-500ii pre with a tuner, got it for $200 shipped a few years ago, has very good tone controls too. most tone controls bosst bass too far into the mids, the adcoms bass controls are at like 100hz i think. get a decent preamp & i think you will like the adcom. Yea, I’ve been looking into that that one. After all it’s for garage. I’m not out there everyday. Thanks for the input. Curious to see how it will sound. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Yea, it wasn’t a smart idea to do any of the things I did. Its a true SE and in mint condition. Practically new. Old guy was asking $450. Got it for $350. He has a lot of gear and was Just trying to weed out what he wasn’t using. That’s what happens when you buy too much I guess lol. I don’t like the receiver because I feel like the digital tone controls don’t work as good as the old manual ones. Regarding the circuit protection. I thought that’s why they have the fuse in the back. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  11. I tried hooking it up to an old A27 yammy(stereo amp). I manage to get sound out of it but had no control of the A27. It even worked when A27 was off. But the sound wasn’t what I expected. I also tried hooking it to an A S500 integrated. That almost blew up my speakers lol. No volume control. So I got it to work with with my RX A1050 yammy since it actually had pre outs. But I feel like the 1050 is limited and that for HT main use. I need something with tone controls. I also think of running the 555 in bridged mode. 600w. I feel like i need to add some bass to the 555 since it the bass sounds really tight. Too tight. I think a preamp will allow for that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I recently got one of these for $300ish. Mint condition. I’ve tried to use it with my current equipment but doesn’t seem to be working. I don’t want to mess anything up. I need a good preamp. So I need recommendations. It’s powering a single RF7 ii in the garage. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Just found a carver pm1200 local for less then $200. Did some research and sounds like a good amp. Retailed $2200 when it came out. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. This looks promising. Thanks. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. These are all preamps right. What are you asking for them? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. I think your right. The one I have now is rated at 100wpc. It has the lighted left to right colored meters. Once it hits the 100wpc is struggles to stay and gets really warm. I can’t turn the volume any louder. So I’m limited. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. Tempting. Not sure what I’m going to do yet. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. I thought you were gonna sell me one of yours [emoji23]. I think might have to go with a power amp and a pre amp. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. On the budget side. $200-500 something decent. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. Looks like a nice amp. Not sure it would be up for the challenge. With those specs to be honest. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. Doesn’t matter. As long as they have what it takes. These speaker can handle some serious power. My current amp-over heats and just doesn’t have the kick. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. I’m looking for something to power one RF 7ii in garage. I currently have an old Yammy A27 but it’s not beefy enough. A power amp would be good option too. I Listen to music loud. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. $600 local pick up. A+ condition. Has a few marks that are only visible up close around the edge of wood. Woofers are in excellent condition. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. How is the sound compared to a regular amp? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  25. I’m not sure how to do it. Can someone remove this post. There not for sale anymore. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
