  1. I hope I'm not driving you nuts but I have a few more questions What volume is considered "at reference"? So how do I get DEQ? Is it my receiver? Or an added equalizer? Pre Amps (I have no idea what those are I have just heard the term a lot lol)
  2. I will try gravity again. The first 20 minutes I need to map out, because the fronts were spot on but the rears weren't getting the action I was expecting. Okay I will bump them up a lil bit (I understood that part ). Im not totally sure what dynamic eq is. Is that the receiver lowering the surrounds? or the mix?
  3. uhhhhhh...huh? Well we watched guardians of the galaxy vol 2 last night. Loved loved a lot of the effects all around us. The fireworks at the end especially. Also the last 2/3 chapters of Unbreakable sounded fantastic, especially when he is flashing into the other peoples lives. I really wish I had a specific (very specific) sound sweep scene to listen to. Should I get Twister?
  4. They sound fantastic! A huge upgrade. More importantly has been your advice to move the couch and change the placement of the rears!! Soooo...I can put those rears flat on the wall? I will have to give them a sound test first obviously.
  5. Hey guys! Well here we are, only a few short weeks and I have been able to take my theater from above average to some next level sh*t! Well for me anyways, for you guys its childs play I'm sure! We gave it the official test tonight with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, what an unbelievably huge difference all of this has made! I wish you guys could come here and help me talk it to another level lol (but spend YOUR money on ME of course) Whats next?!? I say seating.....
  6. I did this, the rears are angled towards the sweet spot but I am hoping they will sound just as good flat to the wall, otherwise they are going to be a pain to mount. I looked up speaker brackets on amazon but they all say max weight is 10lbs....these are 15 at least.
  7. Im confused about the angles because the speakers aren't direct firing. They still need to be angled?
  8. I'm sure this has been discussed a LOT, but is there a big audio difference between the Apple TV/iTunes tracks vs a blu ray? I ask because I don't want get up and down putting discs in and out like the cavemen did!
  9. Looky looky! I wish you guys could be here to really give a proper listen and help me with placement. Any thoughts?
  10. Thats exactly what I go through. If I remember right I even bypassed the receiver all together, I can't remember if it did any good! It must not have. And I can forget trying to put in a 3D blu ray.... Hmmm this warrants further investigation!
  11. Good good, I am literally waiting for the rear speakers now. C'mon UPS!!
  12. I just wanted to know if what I have is good enough tbh.
  13. You know, this reminds me.... The HDMI cable I have running from my receiver to the projector I think is a problem (Unless its the receiver itself or the projector itself). It plays movies from the Apple TV just fine, however the blu ray player can be an issue when playing 3D movies (not that we even have a desire to do that anymore). At times it just wouldn't play anything if I put in a 3D movie. And whenever its displaying the main bluray menu (not the movie menu) the screen constantly flickers...like white static lines will go from the bottom of the screen to the top, it also does that when playing a 3D movie. 14. So while I wait for speakers....anyone wanna talk receivers? This is my current one: Yamaha RxV675 Natural Sound 7.1+2
  15. Ok thank god, when I built the ghostbusters proton pack the guys on that forum were ruthless to noobs.
  16. I keep the mirror flat on the wall, right? THis I can do. The right wall will be a problem because of the poster boxes there
  17. If you were telling me this face to face you would see a complete blank stare...and then probably just do it yourself. Is there a link to a tutorial you like explaining this? Im a little lost (Lol I hope I'm not getting on everyones nerves)
  18. I think its really hard to see but I did pull the bose of the walls and popped the polks out as well. Put the sides basically horizontal to my ear but a little above. I don't know if something is wrong with me lol but I noticed only some difference. I will say its a massive pain in the neck to move those polks at an angle because they keep falling over. And I am going to test that first 20minutes of gravity again. I get so confused on what setting to put the receiver on, I don't think I had it set to 7.1, I think it was 5.1. I am forever messing around with all the different options (movie "action" movie "thriller"...all choices), it kind of gets irritating because I don't know what the heck I am doing lolol.
  19. I feel like I am running it everyday lol. Its nice that it does that though, the automatic YPAC or whatever its called on my Yamaha.
