  1. Here is a bench test for the RXA2050, close enough 2 Channels Continuously Driven, 8-Ohm Loads 177.6 watts 5 Channels Continuously Driven, 8-Ohm Loads 101.4 watts 7 Channels Continuously Driven, 8-Ohm Loads 54.2 watts Good thing they didn't bench it with all nine as the power is dropping significantly, yamaha and harman kardon seem to be worst avr's in all channel driven tests, from what I've looked up. 95% of the time this won't matter, and your amp is an excellent amp. All manufacturing co are playing with advertised specs WPC Anyways that was just for information as you thought 2channel and 9 channel are same power. Something is wrong for sure. 1. Are you just running 2 speakers 2. Have you ran room correction with the set up mic 3. Have you double checked your positive to negative connections and polarity? 4. What is the source that you are trying to play, and how is it connected (analog, dig coax, hdmi, optical). 5. Do all sources have the same distortion, or are you having problems with just one. Answer some of these and we may be able to help
  2. Order the SB-2000, if you don't have a sub, you will be pleasantly surprised, if not blown away over the bass compared to the 280's.
  3. Great idea, so may people throw them away, and end up needing them.
  4. Harman BTA-10 is what I used got mine for about $35. The range is roughly 30' with no obstructions, I found when outside about 15-20' http://www.ebay.com/itm/Harman-Kardon-BTA-10-External-Bluetooth-Adapter-/332089812540?hash=item4d5218663c:g:PqIAAOSwnHZYdzIp
  5. Get a subwoofer asap. Nothing wrong with the bass output of your speakers, they just don't play low enough for movies. Sub(s) are a must with home theater.

    RB-5 ii

I shipped a rc52ii in original box, and had the magnet break off also. I had to refund buyer, and pay return shipping. I hate shipping stuff. Especially AVR's, you have no control over one guy tossing it once and breaking it. I recently picked up a Marantz avr from a fed ex location, the lady was kicking(scooting with her foot) it to me because it was heavy. Even a properly packed speaker if tossed or dropped will likely be ruined
  7. I've ran my 7ii's off a 125wpc avr, and also tried a 200wpc amp in a very large room. The avr drove the 7ii's to extreme levels by itself. I sold my amp and put the $ into other supporting surrounds. I'm never against more power, but the 7ii's respond very well with lower wattage. I could not tell the difference between my two power supplies.
  8. I've been watching those on my local craigs list myself and surprised they are still there. Makes me puke if those don't sell for $750, what could I get for my 82ii's. GLWS
  9. If it were an even trade, sure I would go with the ii's, but if it cost you anything I'd stick with what you have. I do like the copper tone of the ii's much better, but sound wise I doubt it would be worth the upgrade IMO
  10. I was picturing a tough man competition stacking those. lol. Awesome sauce
  11. What is the level on your sub from your AVR. I have a denon that set the sub level very low, -9 out of a max of +10. It worked for quite some time and sounded good, after a while my subs were not working. They made a very faint noise(maybe a click) I turned down the gain on the sub itself and boosted the level of the avr to 0 or better and they have worked fine. On my first 112 I did have to have the amp replaced though, just something to try before going that route
  12. I have to wait until my 4 year old goes to bed to enjoy the beauty, lol. He's never seen the grills off, and I don't want him to. "Oh look, shiney!" poke, poke, poke, scratch, rips grills off breaking peg. I do wish the 7's had magnetic grills like the 82's.
  13. I also purchased my 64ii from him, same descrition about a year ago. I could not find a noticable flaw on the speaker, I think I paid $850 or $899 shipped. I was very pleased.
  14. It's a long turd with really sweet woofers in it
  15. Put a piece of electrical tape over them, or http://www.amazon.com/LightDims-Black-Out-Edition-Packaging/dp/B009WSN8PK Also I think the problem lies more in the power out from the avr, than the sensor in the sub.
  16. He doesn't have boxes, and sounds like he doesn't want to deal with it, but for $400 per speaker + shipping can't hurt to ask
  17. A possible fix to your problem, might be to lower the gain on the sub itself, and increase the sub level in the avr. I have a "lazy" sub, and it is just not getting enough signal out from the avr. Or just keep them on. Mine have a green led light on the front, so it bugs me when my system is powered off, and I know they are on.
  18. WHat do you mean by something doesn't seem right?
  19. Buy them for $800, and if you don't like them, I'll take them off your hands for $600 and hide them in the basement, until I do a dedicated theatre. I'm probably just down the street.
  20. If I didn't already have a pair I would have been all over it. Add a RC64ii for 600 and your front stage $1400, crazy, wish it was posted about 6 months ago when I bought mine.
  21. These are not mine, but thought someone might like this deal. I think it would put my wife over the top if these came through the door, but the seller said he would do $800 in a meesage to me. Almost would be worth the fight http://www.ebay.com/itm/272196822500?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
