  1. Thanks guys... Never run into this situation before on ebay either, but whatever. Currently trying to work with Paypal/Ebay to at least get some of their fees reversed but its not looking promising so far. What I saw that was a little weird was as a seller, I could still cancel and void the transaction even after auction ended, reserve met and the sale was final. If you were dishonest, you could list something and even if it sold, you could cancel it if you were not happy with the outcome. Guessing that is what happened to Mallette? I just thought I would offer it up here if anyone was interested. In know what these sell for as pieces and parts and I barely got more than that for a beautiful functioning/ new belt unit. Kindly ask a mod to just close this topic as we have strayed way off topic. I will just relist at a later date or just keep it... sounds sweet through my Heresy's. Thank you....
  2. Hmm... nice to see trolls live everywhere.. it wasnt "would of" it "was" SOLD and shipped on ebay for 485 then the guy welched. $58 listing fees/ 10 percent, $ 53 shipping to his address where he refused it and then reversed his paypal payment. Because he"likes his marantz he bought better". So really out 111 bucks that ebay wont help out with. Thats why im not re-listing it on ebay in the hopes it SELLS Again.. for you two guys... $596 and I'll ship it for free. Thanks for your concern.
  3. http://www.thevintageknob.org/philips-CD960.html due to a dead beat bidder on flea bay (dont get me started on this one) i am going list my Philips cd 960 single disk player on here now if anyone is interested. Its all boxed and ready to ship out. Excellent condition with two small knicks above the power button. New belts and cleaned. No remote. Pics available. Asking what it maxed out for on ebay. 485 plus 35 shipping (shipping with insurance actually runs about 53 bucks to either coast, but i will eat the extra). Weighs 24 lbs so it is pricey to ship. If this ad is not within the guidelines, please feel free to delete. Thank you... here is a link to the failed sale.... i am just not going to mess with the ebay nightmare again. Lesson learned and it only cost me 58 bucks in listing fees. :-). http://www.ebay.com/itm/331981192568?ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1561.l2649
  4. Threw it on Fleabay. Already at my reserve. Lets see what happens. No, i dont need to sell it... Just tired of tripping over stuff. :-). Thanks again for your help guys..
  5. Thanks... I am in nebraska. Just find it a,little hard to believe that a 20'year old cd player can be worth that much. Haha. i will try that... Wish me luck!
  6. Hey everyone... I am going to dump my philips cd960 this weekend. I was wondering what a fair asking price would be. Its in excellent condition with all new belts (not a fun task). No remote. Plays and sounds excellent. I just dont use it that much and we are downsizing. Having a hard time finding realistic prices. All i can seem to find is stuff in Europe and they are asking stupid amounts... Any help would be appreciated.
  7. Thank you again... Been thouroughly enjoying this set up and some old records. I was listening to them through some Advents and an old technics amp out in the garage before, but I Cant get over how much richer the sound is with these things. Finally scored an original copy of "The Boxtops" with "the letter" and their version of "whiter shade of pale". Erie how awesome it sounds... My 7 year old and i are really enjoying just flipping through records down in the basement... He is really liking the eagles, led zepplin, sam and dave and kiss (sigh). He just asks me to load the rcord player up and he sits and listens to music while reading his book for school or playing with his legos. Same thing i did 35 years ago with alot of those same records. Good times for sure.
  8. Well, i just talked it over with the neighbor, he isnt too worried about it. He said to just keep it. Cant complain about that deal. :-). Thank you for the advice/ help guys....
  9. My neighbor just gave me a set of Heresy speakers, a Integra 7-8 amp, a Klipsch KV3 center and a Klipsch sub 10. These were his brother inlaws who passed and they just wanted it out of the house. I am trying to figure out a fair price for what he gave me so i can at least give him a few bucks. The amp is what it is... A 8 year old amp. I see thme for 50 to 100 on ebay. I am at a loss on the speakers though. The Heresys are in vg condition with a coup,e edge nicks in the black paint. They are consecutive serial numbered on t the case. 4k908 and 4k907 Paper labels read h-db-12, 4k908 (907). Black paint is over 95 percent with a couple edge nicks and a few scuffs but nothing into the wood. One speaker has a 3 inch water ring on it like from a planter or something. The grills are very good condition with the badges. Never been opened as far as i can tell. The cones for the large speaker has been pushed in, but not cut or wrinkled. ( can this be repaired) ? They sound awesome with my old Dual turntable and some vintage "toys in the attic". Any help, would be appreciated. I know when he gave it to me, he thought it was all junk, but i want to be fair. He also gave me an old beomaster 3000-2 if anyone is interested. I do pro av conference rooms for a living, but really all my stuff is newer professional stuff. Little out of my depth on vintage gear. Thank you... Mark Omaha
