I've got RP160's up front and RB61II's for surround and am perfectly happy with that setup.

Those look great in Walnut (I have black RP160's).

Yes Fry's has had RB61 II on promo code in the past. I know because I picked up my pair for $199 shipped. That was a few months back though.

Buy a car or a used receiver..... Didnt know much about this receiver so looked it up. As all five quintets are perfectly matched I wouldn't recommend replacing two with something else. That said, try it and see what your ears tell you.

As of right now Frys still has the $229 and $134 prices. Shows shipping on back order but still allowing that option. You'll just have to wait a little longer for them. If if someone needs my promo code just let me know.

Klipsch rep or was it a salesman? If a salesman then his advice meant they didn't have the RP 450C in stock and wanted to make a sale with what they had.

I've got RP160's for my fronts and love the sound. I picked up a pair of RB61 II on promo from Frys and have been using those for surround and I have no complaints at all. I would have liked RP160's all around but the RB's were less than 1/2 the price.

For those of us that have never been to the "back room of Best Buy" exactly what are these? If not worth $1250 what are they worth? Not that I am considering but I like to know these things in case the white van pulls next to me in a parking lot or if a neighbor is "giving away" his speakers at a great price. I need to know if I am supposed to jump on these opportunities. Edited - I recognize the white surround speakers only

I'm no expert by any means but what stands out to me is that the low end range of 31Hz seems high for what I would expect from an 18" subwoofer. My SVS SB2000 (12" sealed) is rated at 19Hz.

Experience has shown that the free shipping may be eligible on only a certain number of sales and then reverts to in store only. If need to have them and don't want to pay full price act fast. These do seem to to pop up on Frys frequently though not every time with free shipping. Last times on promo they were $229 but in store only although for at least the last day of the promo I was able to add to a cart and it showed free shipping. Gotta wonder how many of these RF82's are still left in stock. Are these speakers no longer in production?

The German company is Kirsch Audio. These speakers are "Kirsch Loud Speakers". As someone pointed out, the Audio company logo is nothing like the logo of these "Loud Speakers". These two companies cannot be the same. I don't think any legit speaker company would have a US distribution network consisting of slick talking guys driving vans who have to lie through their teeth to get someone to buy the speakers. Their website of course is no longer active (kirschloudspeakers.com). However, I found a post where someone described the website.

Is Kirsch Audio in Germany the same company? Website is in German. I find nothing about a dealer network in the US for Kirsch speakers. I did find Kirsch curtain rods though. Possible the name is being used to confuse folks.

Buying from a slick guy in the parking lot while being rushed to take advantage of the deal is one thing. Bidding $200 for these speakers and not even doing a google search to find out what you are buying is another.

And, there are enough people taking the bait to keep that white van running. While slightly different, I am amazed at the number of people still falling for the car sale scams. The scam where one is selling a $15,000 car for $2,500 shipped directly to you. The whole transaction takes place via email, you pay and the vehicle is never shipped. I find it difficult to feel sorry for buyers in these cases as well. Ive been following LetGo lately and that site is FULL of scam car ads. They are identified eventually but never quick enough. They are obviously getting enough "sales" to keep posting ads.

They do look pretty. The seller is either someone posting these online trying to save gas on his white van OR some poor soul who took the bait and bought these in a parking lot. Seeing how they appear to still have plastic wrap on the cabinet leads me to believe it might be the "salesman".

Congrats on your purchase. Since you are close to a Frys I suggest to wait for the RC62ii center speaker to go on sale again for $130. That is a great price (buying new for cheaper than a used one) and it will work well with the RF82's.
