I keep reading about weak bass in the Heresy but I've also read that hooking them up to the 8 ohm tap makes a significant difference. I guess I just need to listen for myself.

I found a pair of Forte II's and got the seller down from $550 to $475.

Currently running a Marantz 2230 as a preamp and a Dynaco ST70 through Original Large Advents. I'm somewhat satisfied but I'm not getting the volume I want. Everything I've been reading leads me to Klipsch Heresys. I'd appreciate opinions on whether or not the original Heresys or the Heresy II would be better. I'd prefer to stay in the $500 range
