  1. ^^^. I was looking at the 4K UHD programming on Netflix. It's looks like there are about 120 programs in UHD on Netflix. On Amazon Prime, there are about 100. Some of these are free movies and recent release movies you need to pay for. You can tell a difference in 4K UHD vs 1080p movies. The colors and definition really pops. The issue with streaming in 4K UHD, is it looks like they are in 5.1, no Atmos soundtracks.
  2. There is no much out there as far as a 4K UHD signal. However, if you have an Amazon Prime account and use their video streaming service, there are a few UHD programs and movies out there. Watching the Grand Tour ( amazon version of BBC's Top Gear with the stars from it) the UHD programming really pops. The color off Ultra Hi-Def is amazing. The Sony's Amazon And Netflix apps both handle the 4K UHD signal. I think DirectTv has some programming also, but I'm not certain. I think Netflix costs $2 more a month for UHD programming, plus you get to use 4 devices at once. I have my sister streaming 500 miles away off my account. I thought I would future proof my TV, for a few years anyway
  3. Take a picture of your towers and post it to either the 2 channel or home theater forums on this site. There is more traffic on those forums. The people on there are knowledgeable and able to give you a better response than myself.
  4. Scrappy, I bought the Sony 850C 65" last year. I don't believe there is much a difference in the new model. I've had it for a year with no issues. i am very happy with the tv. I went to AVS forums to tune the color in. Lots of knowledgeable people there. Very good with HDR I get off amazon video service. I have my receiver plugged into the ARC HDMI input on the tv. It works flawlessly. The Android app is the best smart tv application I've had on a tv. I also bought mine on Amazon to save money on the taxes. Very happy with it. No issues. Bought it to replace a Samsung which zonked out after 13 months due to an capacitor issue Samsung knew about. Out of warranty and they wouldn't do anything about it.....
  5. Will the beige(white) grill showed at CES be and option on The One or The Three? I really like the old school looks of the beige. I wish Klipsch offered some grill options on the heritage series the way they offer wood finish options. It can't be a major cost thing, one grill vs another. I would be be all over the dark finish with a white grill, really old school, which is what Klipsch is wanting for the appearance of these speakers... I wish I had grill options with my Heresy's too...
  6. I just got a flier from One Call and saw it in there for $249. Very interested in The One or The Three. Looks like it might be a better version of the KMC-3, which I have and it sounds much more awesome than you would believe. If it sounds like the KMC-3, I will be very interested. It looks a lot more upscale the the KMC-3. It will fit the decor of my bedroom better than the KMC-3. Very interested. Hopefully a dealer around me will have one to listen to. Hook it up to a Chromecast audio and steam music throughout the house. Really like the looks of the One and the Three.
  7. Willland go here for a discussion on the multi room setup. http://www.avsforum.com/google-chromecast-audio-review/ Read the comments too. It's an interesting little device.
  8. Willland, I've used Chromecast Audio to stream to my DAC and I think it works great. The Chromecast audio has a cheap cell phone like DAC in it. I'm like you, I feel like going to a quality DAC cancels out the cheap DAC in the Chromecast Audio. Use an iPad to control the music on my system. The iPad also controls the volume on my system. Set the volume on the receiver and then you can volume up or down on the iPad (or phone) The nice thing about Chromecast Audio, is that you can set up multi-room playback. I have a extra Chromecast Audio hooked up to a KMC3 in my bedroom to stream The same Spotify stream to my main room and my bedroom. The nice thing is you don't have to have a multi account Spotify account, it streams from your one account. I've read of people having a two story house with a basement streaming to audio systems on all three floors. The Chromecast is a cheaper Sonos using the better quality speakers and receivers you already have. I am hooked on the versatility of the Chromecast Audio. As you look into it, it's a neat little device for $35. Christmas time last year, the Chromecast Audio were going for $50 for 2. Then you have to buy the optical cable. Let me know what you think, I'm kinda new to this DAC thing. I'm happy with the Chromecast hooked up to my DAC. It's also a cheap solution to using a computer to stream to a DAC.
  9. After waiting a couple weeks, I received the monoprice extractor today. Hooked it up to my computer. I can tell a difference in that the sound is fulller. I really like the improvement. Since i sometime use my computer, i hooked up a $35 Chromecast to the HDMI in on the extractor instead of receiving the stream off the computer. I couldn't tell a difference between having the computer or chromcast hooked up to the extractor. It's a low dollar alternative to having a computer hooked up to the extractor. Below is a picture. I'll clean the setup tomorrow, I know it looks like crap. I wanted to hurry up and try the extractor with the DAC. The chrome cast is the disc thing in the picture. It's output is HDMI. I control it from my iPad streaming Spotify premium
  10. Monoprice just sent me an email that the extractor is back in stock. I ordered one. if anyone else is interested.....
  11. I noticed the serial number was not consecutive when the second one came in. I looked at them and didn't think there was a difference. I wasn't concerned about it because any difference was not noticeable , plus didn't want to go thru the hassle of shipping them back. They will be far enough apart that a slight difference wouldn't have been noticeable anyway. Very happy with these. Wish I could get the grills from the Special Edition Heresy III in East Indian Rosewood. Then they'd be perfect! Thanks for the replies, I just wanted to help the OP.
  12. ^^^ My speakers are Heritage (Heresy) bought as pair and arent. Only 3 off. Wood grain looks ok. No complaints.
  13. ^^^^ sorry, forgot to mention these were bought from the authorized dealer in Vegas. Always had good luck with him. They were shipped from the Amazon warehouse in Indiana. He also is a seller on Amazon for Klipsch products.
  14. Just bought a pair about a month ago. They did not have sequential serial numbers. The emblem on the grill is on opposite sides, so they did sent me a left and right I guess. They were even delivered on separate days and one was packed in the factory box which was placed in another cardboard box. These were sold as A-stock , never used. I checked the tape on the factory boxes. It wasn't broken. Im not worried about the sequential serial numbers though. I plan on keeping and I don't think it would make that big a difference if I ever decided to resale. Really the information on them is just for the "born on" date. I just sold a pair of RF-280F's. The buyer could have cared less if the serial numbers were sequential.
  15. Crap, more upgrades = more $$$ Monoprice keeps giving an eta of the next day every day I've looked for he last 5 days. Should have pulled the trigger when I was first thinking about it Are you guys getting any royalties? I think you've started something..... You all led me to an improvement I can definitely hear and it's good.
  16. Forgot I could control Spotify on the computer from my phone. Thanks! Just received the Maverick Audio TubeMagic D2 and plugged it in. The HDMI extractor has been sold out. I tried it with the enclosed USB cable. They were having a $40 off sale, so I upgraded to the unit with "two high-end OPA627 OpAmps and one NOS GE 5670W tube" All I can say is WOW. I realize I have some breaking in to do but this is an awesome upgrade. The depth and layers I'm hearing are awesome. I'm debating on if I need the HDMI extractor. This sounds pretty awesome with my Heresys streaming Spotify from my computer.
  17. I agree with above^^^. Get the RP-450C for the center. I had the RP-250C for a center that I got as part of a package deal. I bought the 450 originally because it was bigger and I could place my 65" tv on top. I found it on eBay from a dealer as an "open box" for $400. When it came in, I inspected the box and realized it wasn't open box.... There was no tears or cuts on the tape. The 450 has a much "fuller" sound. The 250 really sounds good, but the 450 is a much better choice. I thing it's like $175 more, but worth the difference. Don't buy something because it costs less. Get it for the sound. You'll go down the slippery slope of buying an upgrade in the future. Also, a 10" sub will not fill the room very well. Go as big as you can. You could also look at Dayton subs. They have a good sound for the price. Good luck with your new system. You'll enjoy it.
  18. Looking at the area between Pass Christian, MS and Fairhope, AL. I know that's a hundred miles in between. My parents retired on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and I really like the area. I like both. They are laid back communities and one is on the gulf and the other on Mobile Bay. Tomorrow is my last day at work. I was fortunate and was offered a good retirement package and I took it. Be down there by December before it gets cold here. Need to find a house quickly. Looking forward to it. Met good people in both areas.
  19. Would a Chromecast work instead of outputting the Spotify stream from a computer? That way, I could control Spotify from my phone on my couch and not have to get up go over to the computer to change songs if I wanted to .....
  20. This is interesting to me. Been thinking about a DAC. I was wondering how to hook it up. I need a maverick tube magic d2 and a mono price audio extractor. I run a HDMI cable from my computer to the audio extractor. Then run an optical cable from the extractor to the DAC. Then run some RCA cables from the DAC to my Yamaha RX-A1050 to my Heresy's. Do I need to run the Yamaha in pure direct to turn off the Yamaha's DAC? Are the two DAC's in the Maverick Tubemagic D2 better than the single SABRE DAC in the Yamaha? I'm impressed with the "purity" of the sound now. Just like some opinion on if this setup will sound better then what I have. Currently, I use Spotify Premium on extreme streaming setting from my IPad and either use AirPlay or use Spotify connect on the receiver. I have hooked up my computer to the HDMI input on the receiver also. Any information is appreciated before I spend the money on this.
  21. I recently ordered Heresys from one of the places in Las Vegas at a savings from what Amazon was asking. However, they were shipped from Amazon and arrived in two days. What is the relationship there? I thought it was strange to order from one place at a substantial savings and have it shipped from another business with a higher price. Not that I'm complaining, it's just one of those things I wondered about. Same thing happened on some RP-160's I ordered 6 months ago. These business relationships are different. By the way, love the Heresys. Hopefully, I will stop upgrading now. .

    What I Got Today!

Received new Herseys yesterday. After several hours of listening, I think I might need to get rid of my RF-280's. i think the Heresys are keepers. Havent watched a movie to see how they are for home theater, but music is awesome. Can't wait until they are broke in. Why didn't I buy these years ago?
  23. Picked the Heresys up today. Opinion after about an hour....they sound fantastic! They really do rock ... Haven't tried with movies, but music is so much better. I thought the RP-280's were good, these are great for music. Can't wait until they're broke in. Thanks for the replies. And great dealing with Mike from Acoustic Sound Design.
  24. Southwest Indiana. We have a store that sells the RF series, but no Heritage.
  25. Thanks for reply on the Heresies. I believe I'll get some. Think I'll use Willliand's idea and use zone 2 of my receiver to power the Heresies and use zone 2 for music. I can compare them that way too.
