  1. Now it's a Jeep Wrangler (I'll never be without one) and a Camry (grandpa car) I've broken the pattern

    What I Got Today!

How is the blue? Is it a big difference from the red? It was another $136 for the blue. I was tempted. I'll let you get back to the game now.....impressive profile pic

    What I Got Today!

Yes. I couldn't decide on the cartridge. I'm new to turntables. Haven't had one in years. Looking at reviews, it seemed to be a good midrange choice until I decide how deep I want to go. I think it sounds great, but I have nothing to go off of. Really like the wood too.
  4. Bought a Parasound with tone controls. I like adding a little more bass. I'm older and I remember my first Pioneer rack system had an equalizer. I thought that was some cool stuff at the time. I notice there are very few equalizers out there anymore. Good thing, I was forever "fine tuning" my music. BTW, my Pioneer aftermarket unit in my Jeep has an equilizer with 9 bars i can adjust.

    What I Got Today!

40 years after my last turntable , I received this today. Feeding into Parasound amps to Forte III's. I read a lot of reviews, liked the wood. Sounds excellent. FedEx lost my package at a local distribution center. After dealing with FedEx for over a week, I called U-turn. They got me a replacement in a couple days and filed the claim with FedEx. Wonderful customer service by U-turn! Good company. After dealing with FedEx and the promises of callbacks, it was very refreshing dealing with a company that knows what customer service means. U-turn is highly recommended.

Man, I'm really getting into this game. IU is not intimidated. Look relaxed. Playing good. Had a chance to go with some friends from work. Regretting the decision not to go now. Absolutely love game day atmosphere. Looks like a good time there. I dont think the SEC will be dominant this year. I'm always nervous first game of the season. Ranking at the first of the year mean nothing. Too many players are lost to graduation and the NFL. I think that's another thing that makes college so interesting. You never know from year to year.

@Ceptorman. Well they do have Crimson as one of their team colors and I am from Indiana, so yeah I am a fan. I want them to do well. Love my Crimson Tide and SEC since I was a little guy, but I am pulling for IU. They have been so close in big games the last few years, I want them to bust thru and win a big one. Plus I dislike Urban Meyer (part of being an Alabama fanatic). IU's looking good right now. I'm pulling for them!

My time of year. College football. Watching OSU-IU now. Ready for Alabama-Florida State Saturday. Baby sister has tickets to that one 7 rows behind Alabama bench. She doesn't love me enough to take me, she's taking her husband Favorite time of year for me. Love my Crimson Tide and SEC but enjoy all college football games. They play with so much heart in college. Ready to go to Tuscaloosa to watch some football in person. SEC games are the best to watch in person. Game day atmosphere has to be the greatest atmosphere in sports. Roll Tide!
  10. I've had Heresy III and now have Forte III . Forte wins. Powered by Parasound P5 and A23 for 2 channel listening. Clear pure sound with plenty of bass for me. Bought the Heresys in September 2016. Klipsch announced the Fortes shortly afterwards. If I had known that I would have auditioned both and saved some money. Then @MetropolisLakeOutfitters had a Parasound setup to listen to. So I bought the Parasound for two channel listening and a RC-64 II for a center for home theater function. Fortes sound fantastic. Don't see me buying any other LR speakers.

@DizRotusNo, not me. they look good. Like the wood. Would like to hear them. But I think (hope) I'm done. Happy with what I have now. Retired once, called me back with an offer I couldn't refuse for a few months. Bought my Forte III's.
  12. I'm ready for it to get darker. Way too light right now.
  13. Whew..... you had me nervous I didn't check for that. When I got them, I couldn't wait to hook them up. I was at work when I saw this. Did they have a strap or not??? First thing I did when I got home was check to ensure I had them on the top post and there was a binding strap.
  14. One more thing.... the mounting posts (I guess that what they're called) are a lot more robust looking than the plastic ones I have on my one year old Heresy's. Look more solid.
  15. I'll gladly hand the title to you
  16. Just turned 60. Guess I'm the old guy in this thread... Had a girl tell me 60's the new 40. I said yeah, right, you're not living in this 60 year old body...
  17. Like it. The bass surprised me on that. Metropolis Lake Outfitters demoed Rodrico y Gabriela's Hanuman when I was looking at these. The guitar sounds great. Wish I was talented.... Live recordings are really good with these. Feels like you're there. Never was a big fan of sister hazel, but their Unplugged from Daryl's House Club feels like you're there
  18. @Chief bonehead knows what he is doing. Great sound.
  19. Listening to these for like 10 minutes. I've had Rp-280's and Heresy's. These are a grand slam. Turned the sub off. My addiction is over. These are the best sounding speakers I've ever heard. Done buying. And I still have a Parasound coming.... On to retirement.
  20. They look fine. Just wasn't expecting the difference. It was a shock. Thought it would be a couple shades.. i was told Klipsch will do any custom finish for an up charge. He thought it would be a couple hundred to match the Heresy III
  21. Chad warned me the finish was going to be lighter than my cherry Heresy. He told me I could order them in the same finish as the Heresy for an up charge and a longer wait. I decided not to wait. The picture is lighter than it is in person. I'm still liking 'em. Doesn't have as deep of an orange tint. Time to plug them up.....
  22. Cherry has shipped and received. Thanks @MetropolisLakeOutfitters
  23. Huh???? My Klipsch RB-51 II's that started my addiction are on the list!!! Bought those for $299 years ago. Best speakers I'd ever heard to that point.
  24. Hopkinsville, KY. Going to meet my sister who's going to visit her in-laws. About 80 miles from me. Supposed to be the point of longest duration. Two minutes, 40 seconds. Only live once. The small town is supposed to be booked that day with visitors from everywhere.
  25. Here you go. Don't be scared of open box. Bought several "open box" items. They are new. I've inspected them. The tape has never been opened.
