  1. First time I got a SACD I was in awe.... simply unreal. And my stuff is not that high-end either.
  2. Egads.... some very nice stuff there... I just have a tiny little deal, lol: Denon 2105/1920 receiver/DVD, Pioneer PL-7 turntable, Westinghouse 32" HD LCD, HDMI switchbox, DTV H10 receiver, RF-25's, RC-25, RS-35's, Sub-12, sometimes RB-15's thrown in for 7.1
  3. HDMI is a digital transmission of the signal vs. analog transmission with digital conversion if using component cables. I have a Denon 1920 and found the HDMI output gave a much better quality picture on our 32" LCD HD set. And the DirecTV content was only marginally better via HDMI over component. The set has a native resolution of 1366 x 768.
  4. I use them for rear channels on my downstairs system and am quite pleased with them. As stated, they are pretty impressive for a tiny little speaker!
  5. I've been away from the forums for a while, and am reading this with great sadness, yet joy as well. Joy in knowing she has taken the step to a better place, with no pain, and abounding love. Also, please know in your heart that there will be another day for you to be again with her, sharing the joy and love He has for all of us. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers!
  6. Looking at the media guide dated 1-5-06....[] They look very much like the current Reference speakers with the exception of the added midrange in some. The subs are VERY interesting.... shape-wise too. Has anyone else seen this guide yet? Pretty neat stuff, too bad the wife would kill me if I were to even think about more Klipsch stuff! I would love to step up my entry-level Reference to even the "old" RF-7's, etc.!!! Bet they would not sound as nice inside a doghouse though....
  7. Anyone else seen a copy of the Klipsch media guide dated 1-5-06 which has.... PICTURES and info!!![] Pretty neat stuff coming, and the subs are a very interesting shape as well!
  8. If I remember correctly they are a 1/4" coarse thread size for the insert....
  9. I probably got one of the first Sub-12's out there, and bought it just on the numbers that were posted here and NO audition, lol. Am I pleased? That would be an understatement. I had two BIC H-100's for my two systems, and immediately offed one on eBay to make room for the Klipsch. Very nice for both music and HT, we love it!
  10. Congrats! Our oldest two are in college... the elder of them we believe to be on the 6-year BA degree program, lol. His sister who is 2 yrs younger has more credit hours than he does... go figure. But, we are still proud of both of them and love them dearly.... even as we pull out our hair.... all the while looking at our 6 1/2 yr old ball of fire still here at home![]
  11. I got my 1920 locally, but have two Denon receivers that came from Dakmart. Both times the communication and service were second to none, and shipping was very prompt. Two thumbs up for Dakmart from me at least. You'll like that Denon! I have a 1910 but was unhappy in that it did not play SACD's and the likes. It has been relegated to the bedroom system and the 1920 is now being used a LOT!
  12. Just picked it up myself, and wow! Great buy if you are a Rush fan, or want to be one afterwards...
  13. "The bandwidth for Stereo TV sound is much better than FM and the Networks have used surround sound for years on most of their shows. Another reason would be that most HDTV shows use DD 5.1 sound. If ABC is showing Toy Story it is also in DD 5.1 (with better than DVD picture no less). Why would I want to leave that to the crappy TV speakers? If I am going to watch TV I may as well have the best sound possible." That post was the post to end all posts about questioning using decent stuff to listen to with the TV! Enough said!!![]
  14. I stumbled upon an old SX-750 in a local swap sheet for $25. Called right away and went to get it. It was dirty and dusty, but everything worked but for one indicator lamp. All I did was took off the cover and cleaned it with an air nozzle at the shop. I have it hooked to an old pair of SB-2's and have an old Samsung DVD player hooked in too so I can listen to CD's too if desired while working in the shop. I still have the SX-6 receiver, PL-7 turntable, and CT-5 cassette deck too. Also an EQ but I would have to check on the model. The old Pioneer stuff was pretty decent, and still is 25 years later. The turntable is still in use with my main system upstairs. The SX-6 may get used for our daughter's room for a small 2-channel system with a pair of SB-1's if I do not sell them.
