1. Just a heads up gents.

The seller has shown me 1 photo of a faded out serial number.  The serial shows the first 3 digits which is day of year and then a 5 before it fades.  The 5 would be followed by a 9 in a Y2Y1 format. This places it as a Version 3 CF-4 since its late 95.  Note also the "CF-4- M" and then a faded E which looks to be MEDIUM OAK and not cherry.  That dash after CF-4 seems to be only used on version 3 dates placed exactly above the 5 or 6 of Y2, though i cant confirm if late version 2(early 95) have that second dash as well.  Every 94 serial examined on the net has no dash after CF-4.  One possibility is that the seller has a mismatched pair, 1 cherry of a different date and possibly earlier version and 1 medium oak version 3.  Both of which have the longer ports added which is a simple modification to make.

Seller has not given any more photos of the second speakers serial number and said he could not see internal wiring, only assumed based on port tube length. "I couldn’t see any wires but it is a version one With the longer port tubes so should have ofc clear  cabling according to all the forums "

This is not to offend the seller in any way, Only giving heads up to potential buyers that at least 1 of these speakers are not version 1 or 2 cabinet.  The horns also do look darker than the gray horns of version 1 or 2, but lighting can differ so that's not a solid proof of anything. Also don't think the seller is aware, so no blame on him.

2. That doesn't work unless it's highlighted.  Type the @ then as you type the user name, select it from the list that populates below your type and it will look like this.  Born2RockU
Thought that's exactly what I did on my phone app. I remember typing it in and selecting his username. Strange, but thanks.

3. I just did this a few days ago and I noticed my center image is improved at my close listening position but I also placed thick absorption panels covering the wall behind my head and to the sides and on the top hat just some thick pillow cover folded under the k77 and a cushion hanging over the edge of the top hat to try and tackle cieling reflection.

I'm not articulate in general so I dont know how to really explain what I hear but all I can say is I notice the k77 now and can place it whereas before maybe i couldnt so much and was seriously considering the crites tweeter and while I still am due to curiosity of all the positive reviews, I quite like the "softness" of the k77 right now. At my distance, its gentle on my ears I suppose.

I'd like to place it higher but the soldered wire isnt long enough

(Should I add something directly behind thr tweeter and sides of the wall like more thick pillow cases pinned to the walls?)

4. Yep.  They really don't need to be in the powered speaker business.  It seems to hurt their reputation with all the problems they seem to have.  Passive speaker failure rate is probably microscopic.
Quite a damn good looking speaker though. I want to veneer my Khorn fronts in that way with the darker grain running up the middle of the LF up to the top hat. What is that veneer anyway? Walnut on the sides for sure but the middle grain? Ziricote?

5. Klipsch should really make a 2 way with the K510 for the home market. These things sing.

2 way with a 15” woofer would be amazing. The pro 396 is popular for a reason. Maybe if a Chorus III has no market as it’d be in direct competition with the Cornwall III and Forte III, they could make it different as a 2 way Chorus III with K510 and 15” driver + passive radiator- though I’d like to see the passive larger than the direct radiator.

Or maybe a “CF-5” k510 d’appolito design!
