Everyone's home décor is different. A lot of those really exotic veneers look ugly to ME and while others are gorgeous craftsmanship like Greg from Volti Audio's restorations, how many homes would they actually look good in? I could imagine them looking awesome in a perfect room you'd see in a photo shoot set up to look like some millionaires home, but in an every day suburban or traditionally furnished home, they'd be an eye sore IMO. While Oak is my least favorite unless it's black, those oak KHorns look really nice and match my floors so i'm sure it would look good in my home. Just wouldn't be down with the price. Honestly, Klipschorns are pretty ugly anyway compared to La Scalas IMO. Only the latest Klipschorn models look beautiful with the more natural looking walnut, or the cherry, or black ash all looking very modern. I think of older KHorns in the same way I think of old kitchen cabinets lol. They just look so boring and out dated and cheap.

They’re made to sound new stock on a separate wooden board like heritage crossovers. You. An also send in your stock board for recap. Chorus IIs are due for new caps by now. You can still enjoy them as is but getting it out of the way will improve sound and you don’t have to bother again for several more decades. You don’t have to alter anything for the Ti tweeter diaphragms. They’re drop in and play. I have them too. Big improvement over the stock phenolic tweeters. Why not use them in your LSII's?

Yep. Very outdated look for me personally. Just turned our golden oak cabinets into a very light gray and was also considering doing a weathered gray with silver grills for a different look I've never seen on Khorns, but mostly leaning toward just black with black grills to be safe. Black looks mean and bad ***! La Scala II and the KHorns in black satin look amazing with all that wood grain popping in the light. Only maintenance though is lots of dusting. I don't know if it's helpful for the OP, but I have turned oiled oak Chorus II into a warmer brown using Danish Oil Medium Walnut. Thought they looked pretty okay, but I did sand quite a bit through the veneer to get all that thick grain flatter. Not sure if many would be up for that.

Agreed about oak. Oak/ash looks great in black if done right. The thick grain really pops in the light when black with a satin finish. Distressed oak from the Forte III is also a good look. There was a member here who did his cabinet in distressed oak to match his FIII's. Came out very similar including lambswool fabric: His process: "I used Minwax wood finish penetrating stain, a coat of Weathered Oak 270 followed by a coat of Classic Gray 271. Given a second chance I would experiment by mixing the two stains together in different proportions rather than using two separate applications. It is finished with Polycrylic clear satin. The fabric is Wichelt 18 Count Lambswool Linen Fabric and is a dead ringer by my eye."

Pair of Ti mid diaphragms. Had these burned in for a few months in my Chorus II but ultimately decided to stay with the phenolic diaphragms. $79.50 each new from simply speakers. $100 for the pair shipped

Movies can be 2-3 hours and many with intense effects. I don’t see a problem using them for music for a few hours. Are you listening to heavy metal for 6 hours? Parties? As far as speaker suggestions. Haven’t owned the KLF-20 or 30s but own KLF-10s and owned fortes and Chorus I. Currently use Chorus II. Chorus II get my vote. Moray Jmes suggests a mod to add 2.5oz of dead weight to the passive to dig a little deeper. I did it and it worked out great. I never use a sub with music but if it’s a very large room, a sub will probably be necessary no matter what speakers you use. KLF-30s get almost as much love as the Chorus II but there are issues with having to brace the cabinet. There are lots of mods to make them even better but pricey mods. Yeah for heritage, I would have just purchased from Crites myself but I wanted the 70th anniversary silver luster grills for my black Chorus II’s and I too was hesitant on shipping my grill frames so I never did it. You should be fine if you just put them on yourself. Shouldn’t be too difficult especially if you go win staples since you can just remove them and start over if you mess something up. Good options at acoustic solutions web site. You can email Duracrest who makes the Klipsch grill fabrics. They don’t ship just the fabric though, you need to ship your grill frames to them to put on. Really good and reasonable prices for silver luster fabric and the lambswool. Never asked about the black forte III but I imagine cheaper than the silver or lambswool(both of which I believe they have a shortage of right now) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I bought them from the previous owner like that. Was definitely not original because I’ve never seen Forte, Chorus, Quartet line of speakers come with that. The cloth was stapled in but it was done very nicely. Don’t need to stretch it much. Just need enough material to wrap around the grill frame. Pull evenly to get a tight fit when you glue or staple it to the back of the frame. Looks really nice and close to heritage if it’s not actual heritage cloth that the previous owner might have ordered from Crites? The new Forte III black grill cloth looks like what you’re describing in terms of stretchy thin fabric, but very nice quality. Compared to this Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’m not sure if it’s the heritage cloth but my Chorus I have a similar type of heritage cloth and they fit fine. It’s the original cloth that my Chorus II have that I don’t like. Too thick and not black enough and has a sort of sheen to it that I don’t like. The ugly cloth with rough looking badge is the original Chorus II grill leaning on my Chorus I with the better quality heritage looking cloth Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
