  1. Well the 60th and 70th anniversary Klipschorn specs went down to 33hz same as non enclosed Klipschorn specs so it should be the same Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I have Chorus II and Chorus I. The Chorus II has Ti mids which are supposed to be louder than the stock mid so I wonder if it will match the louder DE120 tweeter better? Either way this sounds very interesting! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Interesting! What modifications have you done to your Chorus II other than the tweeter with lpad? Full crossover rebuild? Did you do anything else? Using stock phenolic mid diaphragms? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Those are Chorus I. They came with port holes but no port tubes. I’ve been meaning to add 7” port tubes myself but never got to it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Example- this was rustoleum matte black Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I just remove all the parts and take the empty cabinets outside and spray paint it black-including the horns and hardware so everything is nice and same black. You can tape up and mask all the wood veneer. I used Rustoleum satin canyon black Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. RIP warrior Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Did CHII cabinets come with acoustic foam inside the cabinets? I don’t seem to recall any in the Chorus IIs and I just restored my Chorus I and there wasn’t any inside there either Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I actually just noticed that as well, the grey mid horn and serial looks version 1 with short ports of a 2 or 3 version. Strange. I don’t know if early version 2 had the grey horn but they would also have the 5” ports no? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Looks like version 3 so the crossover also would be changed if it is. The woofers would also be different iirc Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Dean Wescott is currently building me some completely new Chorus II crossovers on separate wooden boards. I believe he already built one and has one to build this weekend. I've already paid Dean in full, but an opportunity came up that I hate to miss out on or at least give a try, so i'm just taking a shot to see if anyone is interested in purchasing these and getting them shipped from Dean straight to you when they are completed. PM me for part details and price, thanks. *Please note this isn't any kind of special discount deal. Paying exactly what I paid. Just an opportunity for someone who owns Chorus II and is usually on the fence about a build or possibly have asked Dean at the wrong time where he might have been too busy or didn't want to wait to long for the build to be completed. **I guess to sweeten the deal I can also ship you Ti midrange diapghram($169 value) but they would require the bandpass to roll off at 7khz-(some feel they don't need it or just EQ a few decibels at 7khz.) The diapghrams are broken in for a few months.
  12. Interesting. Wish I would have known this when I had my LSi splits. Bottleneck k400 got all the blame from me.
  13. I’ve found this cloth is similar from acoustic solutions but the gold seems too bright compared to the original from duracrest. Maybe it’s just the lighting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Khorns. Denver

Looks like it was a raw fir decorator khorn that had veneer put on the front and on a custom made top. I could be wrong, but didn't decorators come with a top only for the HF bin? And it just rested on the LF bin? He could have put the stock top on the bottom(as that looks the correct thickness) and then made himself a new top which ended up looking thicker, which i like personally as long you match the bottom board to match in thickness. Just needs some of the same veneer edge banding. Could be ribbon stripped mahogany veneer used? Not sure. It's certainly beautiful though and one can clean up those scratches easily with a little work.
  15. I think with that set up you’re a prime candidate for KLF-30s(lots of mods for these) or if you want new- Rf-7 IIIs which sound incredibly smooth. Something tall and skinny. Matching center on a short stand on the floor angled up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Ah cool! Ive never seen that badge. So the new silver cursive logo is based on an old logo? Original logo? I like it a lot. Learn something new all the time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. You need a KV-4 for those CF-4s!
  18. I sold some Heresy IIs not long ago and I regret not keeping them to use one as a center for each room with Chorus I and Chorus II fronts. Had 2 C7s at the time but sold one recently and should have sold both and kept the Heresy IIs, but how would a single original Heresy sound with Chorus fronts? I’d imagine HII is more timber matched Timbre match would be way off? Are the specs right that the C7 goes lower and is more sensitive than a Heresy? I suppose timbre match isn’t that important for me. Just need something where dialogue is easier to understand and the C7 with Ti just isn’t cutting it for me anymore Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Is the left woofer front mounted heresy II woofer? Something looks off about it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. True. It’s more about placement. Not too many who have perfect corners in a proper room size. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Yeah man. I'm so stoked. I'd be dying inside right now to miss out on a pair of Khorns at that price, but having my Chorus II which i already love and have such an attachment to as is - to only get that much better has me in such a good mood! Actually the first time i heard any upgraded crossover was when i did a shoot out with my stock La Scala Industrial Split with the Al-3 to @Born2RockU's La Scala with Dean AA's. The difference blew me away. I told Craig i went home depressed. You never really know what you're missing until you hear something side by side. I've been enjoying my Chorus II for so long now, but that one experience with the Dean LS's made me realize this is worth it and it was time anyway for new caps so i can only have incredible results. My Chorus II bone stock were also over there in the shoot out with his LS and RF-7 III's. LS won hands down with most material, but the Chorus were still impressive enough that i didn't feel like i was missing TOO much. In fact with deep vocals, i thought the Chorus II sounded much better. I also find the Chorus II less fatiguing. The RF-7III highs won hands down. Some of the best i've heard from a Klipsch. Incredibly smooth and detailed, but overall and musically, i liked my Chorus II better. Hopefully new high quality caps bring those tweeters to that level and overall the speaker to another level. *His KHorns were there too with Dean networks. They were just on another level. Just not fair. Now he's got me waiting in anticipation to go over there to listen to his new Jubilees that he says make Khorns sound so tiny. Here's a photo from the last time at Craigs
  22. Haha I wish man. Bad timing. Spending a pretty penny on some Dean crossovers for my Chorus II. I certainly would LOVE to have those as a project though! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Decorator just meant no pretty veneer? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. All the Altecs i've seen are hideous things. Never heard any though.
