This could mean anything....
"Our full time staff of eight devotes its time to finding, cleaning and playing as many pressings of an album as we can get our hands on.
Sounds like a fun job. Hard to believe someone actually gets paid to do that.
I’m wondering if that site is an elaborate prank.

Thanks to @kevinmi for letting me stop in today to check out his RF-5's. They came home with me and are now getting warmed up in the man cave. Getting warmed up with Peter Wolf's "A Cure for Loneliness" CD. My listening area isn't great, but they're sounding quite nice right now. Once my little flea-watt tube amp gets warmed up, things should start dialing in nicely.
Thanks again Kevin!

Dang...wish I'd have seen them two months ago. 😆

I want the RF-5. Just not sure how I'd get it here to Michigan. 😢

Didn't sell the first time. Relisted for $100 less.

Would like to seem them with the grills off.

How about a tube amp handling the top end and a SS amp handling the low end? Sounds pretty grand here.

I track used Heritage Prices and I have the average used price at $2120. These commonly sell USED for $2200 when you can find them and at two weeks old these are brand new.
If you've ever been looking for Forte III's this would be your moment to pounce.
Its tough to practice self- restraint with posts like this.

I always wanted a set too. Then I heard you couldn't bi-wire them.

Looks like they're in custom cabs.

divorce can be very liberating. I however you are happy you could always discuss this with your partner.
Liberating? As in, most of my money was liberated by my ex-wife?

Just to be clear - I'm not saying they're not worth $1K. I'm saying that $1K is a lot of money, and about $999 more than I currently have at my disposal to purchase a pair of speakers.

The guy wants $1K for the pair. They look nice and are supposed to be the series 1's, but still that's a lot a dough. I can go have a look if anyone is interested. I'd love a pair, but I've got no $$$.

The seller is dreaming. I wouldn't consider spending even 1/2 that amount for speakers maintained that poorly.
To illustrate, here's a pair in FAR better shape and the seller has the same asking price: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Klipsch-RF-7-Towers-Consecutive-Serials-/252778800438?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368 (not mine no affiliation, usual disclaimer.

it was my pleasure meeting you and your friend, sir. I hope he enjoys those 4.5's!

How 'about a black pair of KG 4.5’s? Re-glued and internal bracing added, Crites diaphragms in the tweeters. Original crossovers. Not sure if their height puts them in the "huge" category, though.

I bought my wife the Amazon Tap for Mothers Day. She and my daughters really like it. They can play most of what they want on demand, and also get news, sport and weather. Plus some other stuff. I have to admit it's pretty cool. Sound isn't the best, but that's not really the point.

New (to me) RF-5's in the house

Interesting journey, Rick. The RF-7's left here a number of years ago. They sounded great at your place but I never felt like I could get them to sound right here, particularly after the system was "banished" to the man-cave downstairs. I had, within the last couple of years, rotated in some older, smaller Klipsch speakers, and an "econowave" design made popular over at AK. I've also acquired some decent tube gear over the last few years and decided it was time to retry a more modest version of the Reference line. To that end, I'd heard the RF-5's a number of years back and decided that if a pair ever came my way they'd find a home here.
So, the "5's" are here, and playing through a EL84 - based amp, they sound just right to my ears.
